April 24th is China’s Space Day. Since Yang Liwei went into space in 2003, about 20 Chinese astronauts have traveled there.
In space, astronauts have many problems. There is almost no gravity (重力), which makes their bodies weak. Staying in a small spaceship for a long time without family and friends can make them feel lonely or sad. Also, if something breaks suddenly, they must fix it quickly under great stress. That’s why astronauts need to be clever, strong, and ready for any problem before going to space.
