课时数智作业(四) 必修第一册 UNIT 3 SPORTS AND FITNESS Ⅰ.阅读理解(限时7分钟) (2025年1月·八省高考适应性考试) Want to learn a new language or get A's in college exams? Previous studies have shown that exercise can help stimulate the areas of the brain that convert (转换) new information into longterm memory.A new study has taken this information one step further and found the best time when exercise can help maximise learning. Building upon past research that found exercise releases biochemicals that improve mental function, scientists at Radboud University and the University of Edinburgh conducted a study to determine when exercise was most beneficial to learning. Participants—72 healthy male and female adults—were first asked to perform a computer test that challenged their visual and spatial learning. After the test, all of the subjects watched nature documentaries, but two thirds of them also exercised.Half of the exercisers did circuit training on an exercise bike for 35 minutes immediately after the test. The other half did the same exercise but not until four hours after they had been tested. Two days later, all of the participants returned to the lab for a recall test, and they were connected to MRI(磁共振成像) machines to assess their brain activities. The participants who exercised four hours after taking the computer test were able to recall what they had learnt most accurately.Their brainwaves also showed more consistent levels of activity, indicating that their brains were less taxed to remember what they had learnt. According to this research, the best time to exercise to improve learning is four hours after studying. But why? That's one question the researchers have yet to answer.Another question left unanswered is the level of exercise that might best improve learning.I've run enough marathons to prove the fact that my brain is anything but sharp during or after a tough workout. But the researchers noted that light workouts might not give the brain enough of a biochemical boost to improve learning. 1.What did the new study aim to explore?( ) A.When exercise is best for learning. B.What biochemicals are good for health. C.How brainwaves should be measured. D.Which area of the brain is the most active. 2.What were all the participants asked to do during the experiment?( ) A.Train on bicycles. B.Do mathematics exercises. C.Play computer games. D.Watch films about nature. 3.Why did the participants return to the lab two days later?( ) A.To do a medical examination. B.To have their memory tested. C.To get their workouts recorded. D.To finish their previous tasks. 4.What might the author's marathon running prove?( ) A.The findings of the study are reliable. B.Longdistance runners are often smart. C.Studies on the marathon are not enough. D.Hard exercise may not sharpen the brain. Ⅱ.阅读七选五(限时7分钟) Spring marathons are approaching, and we're here to help you prepare for the starting line. 1 . What training plan should I use? 2 .Some people respond well to logging high mileage six days a week, while others prefer lowerintensity plans that allow for more crosstraining and fewer running days. The best marathon training plan is the one that suits your needs and preferences. 3 ? The duration of your marathon training plan depends on your experience level, current fitness, and the expert or authority you're following.Typically, marathon training lasts 12 to 20 weeks, with most plans falling within the 16 to 20week range. What if I miss training time? It's important to stick to your training plan in order to run your best race. However,no one's training is perfect.Don't worry if you miss some runs due to life events or unexpected circumstances. 4 . What if my training feels too difficult? Marathon training is no easy task.At times, this can feel overbearing and difficult. You should be uncomfortable to some degree, which is normal when growing in anything. 5 .If it does, consider adjusting your plan or seeking advice from experienced runners or coaches. Finally, don't forget about fueling during training and racing,as well as what to wear on race day. With the right training plan, preparation, and attention to these details, you'll be wellequipped to run your best race yet — whether it's your first or 50th! A.Training plans vary for each runner B.How long should I train for a marathon C.How do I determine my marathon goals D.But your training shouldn't feel impossible E.It's better to skip a few days to allow your body to rest F.Take a deep breath and get back on track as soon as possible G.This guide addresses common questions about marathon training Ⅲ.语法填空(限时6分钟) (2024·广西桂林三模) Everybody knows that exercise is essential to keep us healthy,it lowers the risk of heart disease, and helps keep 1. Let's start running then!” It was a wonderful experience for the father and daughter to run together every day. After a few weeks, the ambitious girl told her father,“Daddy,What I'd really love to do is to break the world's longdistance running record for women.”The father checked the Guinness Book of World Records and found that the farthest any woman had run was 80 miles. That year, she completed her run to San Francisco, which is a distance of 400 miles. She was wearing a Tshirt, reading,“I Love Epileptics”.Her father ran every mile at her side, and her mum,a nurse, followed in a motor home behind them in case anything went wrong. But nothing happened at all while she was running. As a senior high school student,Patti announced that she was determined to run from her hometown up to the White House, which is a distance of more than 3,000 miles away. Her classmates got behind her. They built a giant poster that read,“Run,Patti,Run!”This has since become her motto and the title of a book she later has written. 注意:续写词数应为150个左右。 On her second marathon in Portland, she had her foot injured. A doctor told her she had to stop her run.He said,“I've got to put a cast on your ankle so that you don't sustain permanent damage.”Hearing that, she felt upset. She said,“Isn't there a way I can keep running?”He gave her one option. He could wrap it in adhesive instead of putting it in a cast.He warned her that it would be incredibly painful, and he told her,“It will blister.”She told the doctor to wrap it up.She finished the run to Portland. Half a year later, Patti ran in Washington and finally shook the hand of the President. She told him happily,“I wanted people to know that epileptics are normal human beings with normal lives.”Because of her noble efforts, enough money had been raised to open up 19 multimilliondollar epileptic centres around the country. If Patti Wilson can do so much with so little, what can you do to outperform yourself in a state of total wellness? 3 / 3 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
