根据Family-Style Picnic部分“Serves a minimum of 15 people (至少可供15人使用)”、“$60.00 per adult. $30.00 per child. Includes a 2-hour picnic with set up and clean up. $50 per add 1 hour.(每位成人60.00美元,每名儿童30.00元。包括2小时的野餐,包括设置和清理。每增加1小时50美元)”可知,12名成人和10名儿童一起进行3小时的家庭野餐需要60x12+30x10+50=1070美元。故选C。
【3题详解】
推理判断题。根据各段落标题“Family-Style Picnic (家庭式野餐)”、“Social Picnic Party (社交野餐会)”、“We Love This Formal Picnic!(我们喜欢这个正式的野餐!)”
B
My childhood was a painted picture of a sunny sky and rolling green fields stretching to the horizon. It tasted of sharp berries and smelt of sour grapes. My family lived in a cabin in the countryside, but I lived in my mother’s arms. They were so delicate but strong, and her red hair falling around me was like a curtain that separated me from the world.
Childhood was simple. The borders of my village were the furthest my troubles went and monsters only lived in the pages of books. Every day was a waking dream of running races and muddy knees. My village was archaic, dying cabins housing dying farmers with dying traditions. There weren’t many children but me and the other boys; boys of butchers and sellers formed our own group.
They called us wild. I suppose we were. Trees and mountains formed our playgrounds and fights broke out as easily as sudden laughter. Liberated from the restrictions of society, we would bound into the woods, deeper and deeper until we found a lake which, with a wild yell, we would jump into all at once.
My most vivid memories from boyhood center around that lake. Water shone brightly and the sounds of our screams broke into the outcry from birds. The shock of cold water against sweating skin would wake every nerve in my body and my bare feet would hit the sinking muddy bottom. As we submerged, time would stop, movements slowing as bubbles rose around us.
I was drowning. I was living. I was living. I was drowning. For timelessness or a second (both felt the same), we would pause, curl up, and then be forced back out into breathing air.
We should have known that it wouldn’t last forever. Yet, even under the best circumstances, there’s something so tragic about growing up: your perspective on the people and life around you changes; you always struggle to reach a mirror, only to find yourself tall enough to see your reflection one day and find a different person staring back out at you.
4. Why does the author describe his mother’s red hair as “a curtain that separated me from the world”?
A. To show her artistic personality. B. To emphasize her protective presence.
C. To illustrate his fascination with colors. D. To reveal his fear of social interactions.
5. What does the underlined word “archaic” in paragraph 2 most probably mean?
A. Old-fashioned. B. Time-honored.
C. Mountain-ringed. D. Poverty-stricken.
6. What does the lake symbolize in the author’s boyhood memories?
A. A dangerous pause in time. B. A mirror reflecting adulthood.
C. A place of social restrictions. D. A temporary escape from reality.
7. What message does the author convey in the last paragraph?
A. Struggle and challenge make a man grow up.
B. Childhood joy is completely erased by growth.
C. Growth often brings unavoidable self-reinvention.
D. The regret of growth is that people and life always change.
B 5. A 6. D 7. C
根据第一段中“They were so delicate but strong, and her red hair falling around me was like a curtain that separated me from the world.(她的头发娇嫩而有力,她的红头发披在我的周围,就像一扇帘子,把我与世界隔开)”可知,妈妈的头发披在作者周围,就像一扇帘子,把作者与世界隔开,此处是在强调妈妈对作者的保护,故选B。
根据第四段中“As we submerged, time would stop, movements slowing as bubbles rose around us.(当我们潜入水中时,时间会停止,随着我们周围的气泡上升,运动速度会减慢)”和第五段中“For timelessness or a second (both felt the same),we would pause, curl up, and then be forced back out into breathing air.(在永恒或一秒钟的时间里(两者的感觉都一样),我们会停下来,蜷缩起来,然后被迫出去呼吸空气)”可知,作者潜入水中时时间会停止,运动速度也减慢,最后被迫回到现实,出去呼吸空气,由此推知那个湖在作者的童年记忆里象征着短暂逃离现实,故选D。
最后一段中“We should have known that it wouldn’t last forever. Yet, even under the best circumstances, there’s something so tragic about growing up: your perspective on the people and life around you changes; you always struggle to reach a mirror, only to find yourself tall enough to see your reflection one day and find a different person staring back out at you.(我们早该知道它不会永远持续下去。然而,即使在最好的情况下,成长中也有一些悲剧:你对周围人和生活的看法会改变;你总是挣扎着够到镜子,却发现自己足够高,有一天能看到镜子里的自己,却发现一个不同的人在盯着你)”作者先是提到自己和伙伴们早该知道童年的快乐生活不会继续下去,接着讲成长总是有一些悲剧,成长总是伴随着改变,故可推知,作者在最后一段传达了“成长常常带来不可避免的自我改变”的观点,故选C。
C
When planning my wedding, I was determined not to get caught up in the “perfect day”, but to have a relaxed, informal celebration. My husband and I ended up having a lovely time.
“Pursuit of perfection is a prison,” says Moya Sarner, an NHS psychotherapist. Many of us are driven by the unconscious (下意识的) wish that if we could just have the perfect body, the perfect job and the perfect family, then we would be happy. For that reason, it can be one of the most significant barriers to happiness in life.
The psychoanalyst Donald Winnicott wrote about the importance of the “good enough mother” who meets her baby’s needs timely, but is not perfect. He said perfect is harmful. To meet every desire immediately, to pass the toy straight away whenever it is demanded slows down a baby’s growth, robbing them of the opportunity to feel frustrated (沮丧的) and learn to crawl to get the toy for themselves.
Winnicott believed that while perfection is not a virtue, tolerance of imperfection is. If we cannot develop the capacity to tolerate imperfection in ourselves and in those around us, we can have no self-confidence, no sustainable relationships and no fulfilling career. If we’re always trying to build something called a perfect life, we aren’t really living the one we’re in.
How do I know all this? I am a perfectionist in recovery. I’ve started to recognize my intolerance of imperfection — my need for certain things to be exactly as I would like them to be, from the way my husband chops his onions to my terror of being late — and it has made a huge difference to my relationship and my parenting. How can you be a good partner if you expect everyone else to fit your own narrow expectations? How can your child grow if they sense that they always need to color precisely inside the lines you’ve drawn out for them?
We need to go further than tolerating imperfections. We need to learn to appreciate their humanity and beauty. Imperfections are why people will pay a calligrapher to handwrite invitations when a computer can produce a flawless (完美的) version of the same script for less money and in less time. So for a more delicious life, and ultimately a better one, I choose imperfectionism.
8. How does the author introduce the topic?
A. By presenting a successful ceremony. B. By showing her firm determination.
C. By describing her personal experience. D. By introducing her perfect marriage.
9. What can we learn from the example of the “good enough mother”?
A. Raising a child brings a mother much joy. B. Pursuing perfection is the duty of mothers.
C. Meeting babies’ demands is very challenging. D. Responding instantly impacts babies’ growth.
10. What is the function of the two questions at the end of Paragraph 5?
A. To shift topics. B. To make assumptions. C. To arouse interest. D. To encourage thinking.
11. Which of the following might the author approve of?
A. A miss is as good as a mile. B. Haste makes waste.
C. Close enough is good enough. D. Practice makes perfect.
C 9. D 10. D 11. C
根据文章第一段“When planning my wedding, I was determined not to get caught up in the “perfect day”, but to have a relaxed, informal celebration. My husband and I ended up having a lovely time.(在计划我的婚礼时,我决定不要陷入“完美的一天”,而是要有一个轻松,非正式的庆祝活动。我丈夫和我度过了一段美好的时光。)”可知,作者通过讲述自己筹备婚礼时摒弃追求完美、选择轻松庆祝的个人经历来引出文章关于追求完美的话题,所以作者是通过描述个人经历来引入话题的。故选C。
【9题详解】
推理判断题。根据第三段中“He said perfect is harmful. To meet every desire immediately, to pass the toy straight away whenever it is demanded slows down a baby’s growth, robbing them of the opportunity to feel frustrated (沮丧的) and learn to crawl to get the toy for themselves.(他说完美是有害的。立刻满足每一个需求,在孩子一要玩具的时候就马上把玩具递过去,这会减缓婴儿的成长,剥夺了他们感到沮丧以及学会自己爬过去拿玩具的机会)”可知,从“足够好的母亲”的例子中可以推断出,母亲立刻回应婴儿的需求(即追求完美回应)会影响婴儿的成长,让他们失去自我探索和成长的机会。故选D。
【10题详解】
推理判断题。文章第五段结尾的两个问题“How can you be a good partner if you expect everyone else to fit your own narrow expectations? How can your child grow if they sense that they always need to color precisely inside the lines you’ve drawn out for them?(如果你期望每个人都能满足你狭隘的期望,你怎么能成为一个好的伴侣呢?如果你的孩子觉得他们总是需要在你为他们画的线条内精确地涂上颜色,他们怎么能成长呢?)”是在前面讲述了自己作为完美主义者认识到自己对不完美的不容忍以及这种态度对人际关系和育儿的影响之后提出的。这两个问题是为了让读者思考,如果总是期望别人符合自己狭隘的期望,就无法成为好伴侣,孩子也无法真正成长,鼓励读者进行思考。故选D。
【11题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段“We need to go further than tolerating imperfections. We need to learn to appreciate their humanity and beauty. Imperfections are why people will pay a calligrapher to handwrite invitations when a computer can produce a flawless (完美的) version of the same script for less money and in less time. So for a more delicious life, and ultimately a better one, I choose imperfectionism.(我们需要做的不仅仅是容忍不完美。我们需要学会欣赏他们的人性和美。不完美是人们愿意花钱请书法家手写邀请函的原因,而电脑可以用更少的钱和更短的时间制作出同样的脚本的完美版本。因此,为了更美好的生活,最终更好的生活,我选择了不完美主义)”可推知,作者会同意的是“差不多就行(了)”,认为达到一定程度、接近预期标准就可以接受,不完美也行。故选C。
D
Dancing lowers the depression associated with Parkinson’s disease, and the benefits can be seen in multiple ways, a new study shows.
“It was very cool to see dance had a positive effect on the mood circuits in the brain, which we could see in the imaging from MRI brain scans (扫描),” says Joseph DeSouza, author of the study. “These improvements were also reported by the participants via survey. Our study is the first to demonstrate these benefits across these two detection methods.”
The study followed 23 participants with Parkinson’s disease from the Sharing Dance Parkinson’s program at Canada’s National Ballet School, along with family members or caregivers. Participants took weekly dance classes for 8 months, progressing from simple leg and foot work to more complex movements like waltzes and more. The research team focused on the subcallosal cingulate gyrus (SCG), a brain region linked to depression. They measured mood and depression before and after each class using the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) (老年抑郁量表) and conducted regular MRI scans.
The researchers found that after each dance class, reported depression rates dropped, and the effect was increasing from class to class, with significant improvements after 8 months. “We showed that SCG’s BOLD (blood oxygen level dependent) signal decreases while dancing, which means the SCG was not functioning as fast as it would if you had depression,” says DeSouza. “Parkinson’s disease is often accompanied by depression long before motor symptoms (症状) appear.”
Dance is thought to have a double benefit, with music activating the brain’s reward centers, and the movement acting on sensory and motor circuits. DeSouza, dancing with participants for 14 years, says that while dancing is not a treatment for Parkinson’s disease by itself, the benefits are clear. “We’re not trying to cure it with dance,” he says. “What we’re trying to do is to have people live a better quality of life. This goes for both the patients, and their families that take care of them.”
12. What do we know about the results of the two detection methods?
A. They fall short of expectations.
B. They are more accurate than before.
C. They are distinct from each other.
D. They show consistent conclusions.
13. How did the researchers conduct the study?
A. By referring to previous studies. B. By making pre-post comparisons.
C. By employing computer modeling. D. By conducting drug experiments.
14. What did the researchers find about the SCG?
A. It is in charge of motor system.
B. It can be measured by the GDS.
C. Dancing slows down its functioning.
D Depression weakens its BOLD signal.
15. What is the best title of the text?
A. Dancing Away Parkinson’s Blues B. Dancing: Multiple Benefits To Be Seen
C. Dancing With Your Mood Circuits D. Dancing: A Journey To Mental Well-being
D 13. B 14. C 15. A
根据第二段“Our study is the first to demonstrate these benefits across these two detection methods. (我们的研究是首次通过这两种检测方法来证明这些益处的。)”可知,这两种检测方法均可以证明益处,即它们得出了一致的结论。故选D。
【13题详解】
推理判断题。根据第三段“They measured mood and depression before and after each class using the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) (老年抑郁量表) and conducted regular MRI scans. (他们使用老年抑郁量表(GDS)在每节课前后测量情绪和抑郁,并定期进行MRI扫描。)”可知,研究人员在每节课前后测量情绪和抑郁,是通过前后对比来进行研究的。故选B。
【14题详解】
细节理解题。根据第四段“We showed that SCG’s BOLD (blood oxygen level dependent) signal decreases while dancing, which means the SCG was not functioning as fast as it would if you had depression, (我们发现,SCG的BOLD(血氧水平依赖性)信号在跳舞时会减弱,这意味着SCG的功能不如抑郁症患者运行得那么快)”可知,跳舞会让SCG的运行速度放缓。
根据第一段“Dancing lowers the depression associated with Parkinson’s disease, and the benefits can be seen in multiple ways, a new study shows. (一项新的研究表明,跳舞可以降低与帕金森氏症相关的抑郁,其益处通过多种方式看出。)”以及文章内容可知,本文主要介绍了舞蹈可缓解帕金森病患者的抑郁症状,通过MRI扫描和问卷调查验证其效果,所以“跳舞远离帕金森氏症的忧郁”适合作为文章标题。故选A。

根据上文“It’s season for spending, as we look ahead to the end-of-year holidays and start shelling out money for different necessities. This year will be especially tough on budgets due to the high prices on just about everything.(现在是消费的季节,因为我们期待着年终假期,开始为不同的必需品花钱。今年的预算尤其紧张,因为几乎所有东西的价格都很高)”可知,上文提到了预算紧张,推测本句引出后文省钱的建议。故F选项“为了节省更多的钱,请遵循这些注意事项”符合语境,故选F。
【17题详解】
根据上文“● Do clean up during seasonal sales. Companies are all trying to attract us to shop at the end of the year. You can find a lot of good deals, but you’ll want to start with a plan.(●在季节性销售期间清空。公司都在努力吸引我们在年底购物。你可以找到很多不错的交易,但你需要从一个计划开始)”可知,上文提到了要为购物制定计划,推测本句说明如何制定计划。故E选项“列一个清单,包括你想要的型号和特点”符合语境,故选E。
【18题详解】
根据上文“● Don’t be blinded by big markdowns.(不要被大减价蒙蔽了双眼)”以及后文“You need to confirm that it’s actually a good deal by checking prices online. If you find a lower price, ask at the register for a price match or load up your virtual cart. Some stores will match their online prices and the prices of selected competitors.(你需要在网上查看价格来确认这确实是一笔好买卖。如果你发现一个更低的价格,在收银台询问价格匹配或加载你的虚拟购物车。一些商店会将他们的网上价格与选定的竞争对手的价格相匹配)”可知,上文提到小心大减价,本句承接上文说明原因是减价并一定真的便宜,可能还会发现更低价。故D选项“‘五折’的标志并不意味着是便宜货”符合语境,故选D。
【19题详解】
根据后文“Tools such as Price Tracker can help you purchase when prices hit rock bottom or close to it. And you can set up email alerts to be notified when prices drop. Also remember that policies vary by different retailers during the holiday shopping season.(价格追踪器等工具可以帮助你在价格触底或接近底部时购买。你还可以设置电子邮件提醒,以便在价格下跌时收到通知。还要记住,在假日购物季,不同的零售商的政策是不同的)”可知,本段的主旨是利用工具在价格低的时候买入,A选项buy low对应后文prices hit rock bottom。故A选项“一定要逢低买进”符合语境,故选A。
【20题详解】
根据上文“● Don’t trust Ads on social media.(●不要相信社交媒体上的广告)”以及后文“If you see something you want to buy in a post, check to make sure the company has a website with contact information, a physical address and a return policy. Also, search for reviews and complaints online and check the Better Business Bureau at BBB.org.(如果你在一个帖子里看到你想买的东西,检查一下该公司是否有一个网站,上面有联系信息、实际地址和退货政策。此外,在网上搜索评论和投诉,并查看bbb.org上的商业改善局)”可知,上文提到不要相信社交媒体上的广告,本句说明原因,C选项Ads对应上文Commercials。故C选项“广告可能包含欺骗描述”符合语境,故选C。

“Why don’t you „act black’?” Since my middle school years, I’ve been asked this question more than any other. It seems to me that too many people have let society ___21___ into their brains what should be expected of me, a black person, before ever ___22___ with me. But I believe in being who I am, not who others want me to be.
On my first day of high school, going into math class, two of my classmates pointed and ___23___ me. I initially thought my fly was open, or that something was ___24___ in my teeth. But as I took my ___25___, I heard one of the students whisper, “Why is a black person taking Honors?” So my fly wasn’t open. An honors level class had simply been joined by a student whose skin was an unsettling ___26___ of brown.
Many people think my clothes should be big enough for me to ___27___, or expect me to listen exclusively to “black music.” In seventh grade, a group of my peers fixed their ___28___ stares on my outfit: cargo shorts and a plain, fitting t-shirt. They called out to me, “Go get some clothes, white boy.”
In one of my music classes, the teacher asked me, “Do you like rap music more?” I replied, “No, rock.” The look of___29___ on my classmates’ faces made me feel profoundly strange.
I am now in my junior year of high school. I still take all Honors courses. My wardrobe still only consists of clothes that are ___30___ to my proportions. My music ___31___ spans from rock to pop to techno, and almost everything in between. When it comes to ___32___ my friends, I am still colorblind. I continue to do my best work in school in order to ___33___ my goals; and yet, when I look in the mirror, I still see skin of that___34___ shade of brown.

Yours,
Li Hua
One possible version:
Dear Tom,
I completely understand how captivating short videos can be and I’m here for you. It’s important to remember that while they can be entertaining, they shouldn’t take over our lives.
To help you find a healthier balance, I suggest setting a daily limit for video watching, perhaps an hour or two, and using an app to monitor your screen time. Additionally, try to replace some of that time with other activities you love, like playing a musical instrument, going for walks, or even starting a new hobby. It’s all about moderation and finding what makes you happy outside of the screen.
You’re capable of managing this, and I believe in you.
Yours,
Li Hua

Jessica and I wanted a dog more than anything else on Earth. At night, after Mom and Dad had gone to bed, Jessica and I would sneak out our bedroom windows and we’d sit together on the roof and talk about dogs. Sometimes, we had an argument about what our ideal dog would be. But it didn’t really matter — any dog or puppy (小狗崽) would do.
One summer night, as we sat together on the roof, Jessica saw something. “What’s that?” She pointed down toward a dark shadow on our driveway. The moon was up, and everything looked either black or milky. All I saw was darkness. Then the shadow moved. For one astonished second, Jessica and I just stared at each other. Then we scrambled down onto the porch. There in our yard stood a dog. A big, black dog with long hair. Jessica made a little kissing noise and held out her hand. And the dog came to us slowly, taking a few steps forward, then a step back, not sure whether to trust us, I guess.
“She’s a female,” said Jessica.
“Oh,” I said, pulling back and looking. The dog was so skinny and her coat was full of dirt. She must be a homeless dog.
“What can we give her?” I asked. Then I had a thought. “Bread! I’ll get her a big loaf of bread.” So, Jessica waited with the dog, and I sneaked into the kitchen to fetch the bread.
The dog got the bread and ran into the shadows and disappeared. We smiled at each other in the moonlight, our insides full of excitement. “We’re going to have a dog!” I whispered.
On the following nights, the dog, who we named “Shadow”, would come and Jessica and I would prepare food for her. But we never saw her eating anything, and each time she got the food she would run away into the darkness quickly.
“Why didn’t she eat?” I was curious. “And she is still so skinny.”
“We can look into the case,” Jessica said. So, we decided to find out the truth.
One night, we followed Shadow secretly at a distance.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Finally, we had a dog in our home and it was one of the puppies.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
One night, we followed Shadow secretly at a distance. After a long walk in the darkness, eventually we found ourselves in a deserted yard. Carefully hiding, we saw Shadow affectionately kissed four puppies and fed them with the food. “They’re her kids!” Jessica whispered to me. Staring at this skinny mother and her malnourished puppies, our hearts swelled with warmth and sympathy. But we knew Shadow’s action was not a long-term solution. So, when we were back home, we talked with our parents over the whole matter. After a family discussion, we agreed to help Shadow out.
Finally, we had a dog in our home and it was one of the puppies. We sent Shadow and the other puppies to the animal shelter. That was because we didn’t have enough space for Shadow’s whole family. We named the puppy we adopted Clare, and she lived a happy life in our home. Each week, we would take Clare to visit her mother and her three siblings with food and toys. Shadow and her kids also enjoyed a good life and received much attention. Soon, Shadow became a healthy and elegant dog with glossy fur, and every puppy was treasured in new home. Jessica and I achieved our dream to have a dog and we learned love was not ownership but giving and responsibility.

C By describing her personal experience. D. By introducing her perfect marriage.
9. What can we learn from the example of the “good enough mother”?

10. What is the function of the two questions at the end of Paragraph 5?
A. To shift topics. B. To make assumptions. C. To arouse interest. D. To encourage thinking.
11. Which of the following might the author approve of?
A. A miss is as good as a mile. B. Haste makes waste.
C. Close enough is good enough. D. Practice makes perfect.

B It can be measured by the GDS.
C. Dancing slows down its functioning.
D. Depression weakens its BOLD signal.
15. What is the best title of the text?
A. Dancing Away Parkinson’s Blues B. Dancing: Multiple Benefits To Be Seen
C. Dancing With Your Mood Circuits D. Dancing: A Journey To Mental Well-being

“Why didn’t she eat?” I was curious “And she is still so skinny.”
“We can look into the case,” Jessica said. So, we decided to find out the truth.
One night, we followed Shadow secretly at a distance.
