Did you dream of taking a self-driving car? Now, your dream can come true in Chongqing, China.
On November 28 last year, three robobuses came into use in Chongqing. With no driver in it, the robobus can run along the road by itself. The bus is 5.9 meters long and can carry 12 passengers at up to 40 km/h. It is able to identify walkers, cars and other things within 240 meters around it, so it won’t run into them.
After that,14 robotaxis also came into use in Chongqing this year. “I only saw self-driving cars in movies, and I never thought I could take one in real life. The car ran smoothly. It seemed that a great driver was driving it,” said Liu Jiayu. He was one of the first group of passengers who took a robotaxi in Chongqing.
The robotaxi service covers more than 70 pick-up and drop-off points (接送点), like schools, shopping malls and living areas. Passengers can pay for their rides by using mobile phone apps such as Apollo Go and Baidu Maps from 7 am to 11 pm every day. The starting price of the robotaxi is 16 yuan. Then people need to pay 2.8 yuan per kilometer.
Because the robotaxi runs no more than 60 kilometers per hour, it’s quite safe on the road. However, to be safer, there is still a driver in the robotaxi. People can enjoy a fully driverless robotaxi service later this year.
19.What does the underlined word “identify” mean in Chinese?

When Wilbur and Orville Wright finished their flight at Kitty Hawk, Americans celebrated the brotherly bond. The brothers had grown up playing together, they had been in the newspaper business together, and they had built an airplane together. They even said they “thought together”. However, when the Wright brothers said they thought together, what they really meant was that they argued together. “After long arguments, we often found ourselves in the position of each having been pulled to the other’s side,” Orville thought back. “I don’t think they really got mad,” their mechanic (机械师) remembered, “but they got awfully hot.”
The skill to get hot without getting mad is important in life. But it’s one that few parents teach to their kids. We want to give kids a warm home, so we stop brothers and sisters from quarrelling and we have our own arguments behind closed doors. Yet if kids never face disagreement directly, we’ll end up limiting their creativity. As the psychologist Robert Albert put it, the creative person-to-be comes from a family that is one with a “wobble (摇晃)”. Wilbur and Orville Wright came from a wobbly family. The brothers often watched their father Milton Wright fight with school teachers who weren’t fond of his decision to let his kids miss a half-day of school from time to time to learn on their own.
The Wright brothers were not alone. The Beatles fought over instruments. Steven Jobs and Steve Wozniak argued constantly while designing the first Apple computer. Brainstorming groups get 16 percent more ideas when the members are encouraged to criticize one another. The most creative ideas in Chinese technology companies come from teams that have real disagreement early on.
Children need to learn the value of thoughtful disagreement. We should teach kids that silence is bad manners. It disrespects the value of your own view point and your own voice. It’s a sign of respect to care enough about someone’s opinion that you’re willing to challenge it. Good arguments are wobbly: a team or family might rock back and forth but it never tips over. If kids don’t learn to wobble, they never learn to walk; they end up standing still.
23.What’s the writer’s purpose in writing Paragraph 3?
A.To summarize the paragraphs above. B.To add some background information.
C.To introduce a new topic for discussion. D.To provide more examples to support his idea.
24.What does the writer say about the Wright brothers?
A.They always took advice from their mechanic. B.They knew little about the newspaper business.
C.They often held opposite opinions. D.They kept a very bad relationship.
25.What kind of father was Milton Wright?
A.Rude B.Generous C.Hard-working D.Unusual
26.What’s the best title for the text?
A.Conversation matter in a family kids. B.Uncomfortable silence does harm to kids.

During the May Day holiday in China, something exciting happened. Many tourists who climbed tall mountains started using AI-powered robotic supports. These are like smart aids for their legs! This shows that China is moving forward in “smart tourism”.
In Shandong, there is a famous mountain called Mount Tai, which is very tall, with a top over 1,500 meters and more than 7,000 steps. Instead of climbing all those steps on their own, many tourists chose to use robotic legs for help. These cool tools became so popular that there were long lines of people waiting to try them. Li, head of Taishan Cultural Tourism Group, mentioned that they began offering 10 of these supports in January and the number has grown to 500 by May! Renting these tools costs 80 yuan for three hours. It might seem a little bit expensive, but they help people climb faster and more easily. A 26-year-old man from Beijing named Yan used one and said, “I don’t want my legs to feel tired after climbing. These robotic legs make it much easier and more enjoyable!”
Using high-tech tools to help in mountain climbing is becoming more and more popular. In Anhui, Huangshan Mountain also plans to introduce smart knee straps and walking sticks this month. These smart tools not only make climbing more interesting but also attract people’s attention to the use of new technology in our daily life. A travel website called Tuniu pointed out that AI-powered products can draw more young people to places of interest, providing greater development space for tourism industry and economy (经济). Wei, who started the website, said these tools will lower the risk of mountain climbing, and lead a new trend among people of all ages.
The widespread use of robotic supports shows that China is moving forward in “smart tourism” and technology is not about replacing humankind, but about expanding the possibility of humankind experiencing nature. In the future, human-machine collaboration (协作) will meet the growing travel needs of visitors and continue to bring us new surprises.
27.What tools did many tourists use while climbing Mount Tai according to the passage?
A.Robotic supports. B.Smartphones. C.Paper maps. D.Ropeways.
28.How did Wei feel about the introduction of high-tech tools on mountain climbing?
A.Disappointed. B.Doubtful. C.Hopeful. D.Unsupported.

C.The advantages and popularity of robotic supports.
D.The doubts and costs of robotic supports.
30.Which of the following best shows the structure of this passage? (①=Paragraph 1, ②=Paragraph 2 …)

My arms got tired very soon, and I had to stop reading to rest. The problem made me think about inventing a book holder. Here was my invention process. First I drew a simple design on a piece of paper. Then I collected some materials, including an old box with really thick paper and a clip, which is a small metal object to hold things together. Finally, I glued the two pieces of paper cut from the box together and put the clip to the top. I opened my book and replace the book on IT. The book was held by IT perfectly. I made IT now. I just put the book holder on my desk. When I want to read, I don't have to use my arms. I'm really proud of my little invention. It's not very beautiful, but I really enjoy reading more by using IT. Maybe I can make IT Better in the future like adding a light, but for now, i'm just happy to have IT. Hello everyone, i'm teddy. today. I want to tell you about a little invention I made.

C.Kids, would you please start fighting? D.Parents, would you please stop arguing?
【答案】23.D 24.C 25.D 26.C

23.推理判断题。根据第三段列举“The Beatles fought over instruments. Steven Jobs and Steve Wozniak argued constantly ... The most creative ideas in Chinese technology companies come from teams that have real disagreement early on.”等内容,是为了提供更多例子支撑前文关于“有建设性分歧有价值”的观点,可知是为提供更多例子支持论点。故选D。
24.细节理解题。根据第一段“However, when the Wright brothers said they thought together, what they really meant was that they argued together. ‘After long arguments, we often found ourselves in the position of each having been pulled to the other’s side’”,可知他们经常有相反观点并争论,即常持有对立意见。故选C。
25.推理判断题。根据第二段“The brothers often watched their father Milton Wright fight with school teachers who weren’t fond of his decision to let his kids miss a half-day of school from time to time to learn on their own.”
