The Badaling section of the Great Wall was first opened to visitors in 1958, and has since become very popular and received more than 200 million visitors from home and abroad.

At the South Ninth Tower, the drone delivery service runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. During this period, visitors can scan a QR code (二维码) with their mobile phones to place orders, then the drones (无人机) get supplies that visitors order, and the supplies will be delivered within five minutes. Because of busy lifestyles and work stress, more Chinese people are now turning to AI tools like DeepSeek to talk about their problems. They share feelings with the chatbot and receive warm advice. This practice, known as “AI therapy (疗愈),” is becoming popular online. But can robots really replace human therapists?
Around the world, 45 percent of people who needed mental health care in 2024 did not get it because it was too expensive or there weren't enough doctors, according to Huntington Psychological Services. Daniel Lowd, an associate professor at the University of Oregon, believes AI could help fill this gap. “If people can find some support and ideas by talking to ChatGPT or chatbot, then I think that's wonderful,” Lowd told Newsweek. Li Yong, a doctor at the Jiangsu Province Hospital, agreed with Lowd, saying that AI meets people’ s basic needs for emotional support to a point.
However, AI has its limits (限制). Human therapists understand feelings deeply through face-to-face talks and create suitable treatment plans— something robots can't fully copy. Dr. LiuYang, a Beijing-based psychologist (心理学家), notes “An AI might recognize keywords like ‘divorce’ or ‘layoff’, but it cannot find out small emotional shifts in tone or body language”. This point becomes important when dealing with a series of situations, where misunderstandings could be dangerous.
Another problem is safety. AI might act like a therapist without proper training or rules. It cannot match the level of responsibility that human therapists have. Experts believe the key to safe AI therapy is strict government control. For example, Wysa, an AI mental health app, follows strict medical standards in the UK.
Data privacy appears as another large concern (担忧). Users usually share personal details on AI platforms, yet few companies clearly state how this information is stored or used. In 2024, a major Chinese mental health app faced criticism when users found their chats were being analyzed for advertising algorithms (算法).
As AI becomes part of daily life, finding a balance between its benefits and risks is important. While AI offers quick help, human connection remains irreplaceable for serious emotional needs.
21. What makes people turn to “AI therapy”?
A. AI therapy is warmer. B. AI tools are free. C. People feel much pressure. D. DeepSeek is popular.
22. What does the underlined word “it” in paragraph 2 refer to?
A. Mental health care. B. The AI tool. C. The medical standard. D. The government control.
23. What is the main idea of paragraph 3?
A. AI therapy is nicer and cheaper than human therapists.
B AI robots will soon replace human therapists in hospitals.
C. AI can perfectly copy human therapists’ skills and methods.
D. AI has limits in understanding deep emotions and safety risks.
24. Why does the writer mention the Wysa app?
A. To give an example of safe AI under rules. B. To prove robots can deal with emergencies.
C. To show AI is cheaper than human doctors. D. To explain why China needs more therapists.
25. What can we infer from the passage?
A. AI therapy will completely replace human therapists.
B. AI is useful for basic support but not for serious cases.
C. AI can create specialized treatment plans for people.
D. Government control is really unnecessary for AI apps.
【答案】21. C 22. A 23. D 24. A 25. B

【25题详解】

Do you know traditional Chinese flower arrangement? Do you know Zhang Yan? ZhangYan is an inheritor (传承人) of traditional Chinese flower arrangement. She first met traditional Chinese flower arrangement in college from an optional course (选修课程) she took. Back then, she never imagined that a single course could be the starting point of her life-long career.
The art of traditional Chinese flower arrangement has been handed down since 1046 BC. Historical records show it has served as offerings at temples, decorations in the palace and art at homes. “Though flower arrangement has a history of more than 3,000 years, the image of flower arrangement sometimes is still considered as the bouquets (花束) they see in flower shops,” Zhang said. To break that stereotype (刻板印象), Zhang began to study historical records on flower arrangement in China. In 2008, traditional Chinese flower arrangement was included in the second batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage (非物质文化遗产). It is the art form’s rich historical connotation (内涵) that makes it heritage, and this national recognition (赏识) would lead to more public awareness.
Traditional Chinese flower arrangement is not only a decoration, but can also serve as a a form of therapy (治疗)for modern busy people. “Unlike its Western counterpart, traditional Chinese flower arrangement emphasizes simplicity,” Zhang said. The arranger must decide on what is truly necessary in his or her work and remove the rest. Sometimes learners are moved to tears because they begin to reflect on what’s truly necessary in their lives.
“It came from traditional Chinese culture, and it is part of it,” Zhang argued. “Only when it absorbs lots of nutrition (营养) from traditional Chinese culture can it bloom and be world-known. Our aim is to develop and inherit traditional Chinese culture.

There is more ocean on our planet than there is land. The first ship sailed (航海) all the way around the world about five hundred years ago. And the first journey to the deep sea floor was no more than one hundred years ago. Today the ocean is still strange to us. We are making efforts to explore (A) it.
To early sailors, the ocean was a scary place, full of dangerous living things. They thought that, deep below, the ocean was a cold, dark and lifeless place. Ocean exploration was also stopped by the conditions below. The huge pressure of the water would break an unprotected diver. That was why people needed special equipment.
In 1872, the first ship for ocean exploration set out on a four-year trip around the world. It carried the best scientific equipment of the time. An underwater mountain chain and more than 4,000 new kinds of living things were discovered. The results of this journey were important, which encouraged farther exploration. In 1934, two divers dived half a mile below the surface of the ocean in the submersible (潜水器) they designed for deep-sea diving. People could see the underwater world with their own eyes. Since then, improvements have been made in diving equipment, allowing people to travel deeper for a longer time.
In recent years, China’s ocean exploration (B) has taken off rapidly. Many manned deep-sea submersibles have completed thousands of dives since they were designed and developed independently by China. Fendouzhe, for example, can take humans to depths of over 10,000 meters and collect materials for research.
The work of deep-sea explorers has given us a picture of life far below the surface. (C) There is now greater understanding of the life in the ocean. We have realized our dependence on healthy oceans and that there’s still a lot remaining to be discovered in the ocean. What hasn’t been seen yet?

Although most of the earth’s surface is covered by the ocean, the history of ocean exploration is not ①_______ enough. In the early days, terrible conditions deep below the ocean stopped humans from exploring. Also, divers didn’t have certain equipment to ②_______ themselves. As time passed by, humans realized that diving equipment was of huge ③_______ for farther exploration. They couldn’t reach the sea floor ④_______ they had special equipment. Humans made efforts to improve it. Nowadays, we Chinese completely depend on ourselves and design some well-known submersibles such as Fendouzhe. 【答案】44. The ocean. 45. 6
46. 现在人们对海洋生物有了更深入的了解。
47. ①. long ②. protect ③. help ④. unless
【解析】
【导语】本文主要介绍了人类对海洋探索的历史和现状,从早期的航海到现代深海潜水器的发展,强调了海洋探索的重要性和未知领域的广阔。
【44题详解】
根据第一段“Today the ocean is still strange to us. We are making efforts to explore it.”可知,如今海洋对我们来说仍然陌生,我们正在努力探索它。由此可知,it指代前文提到的the ocean“海洋”。故填The ocean.
【45题详解】
根据“Many manned deep-sea submersibles have completed thousands of dives since they were designed and developed independently by China”可知中国自主设计研制的多艘载人深海潜水器已完成数千次下潜,中国的海洋勘探事业迅速发展,因此“has taken off”这里解释为“发展或成功”,正好对应词典解释第6条“take off”突然开始成功,开始发红,突然有了起色。故填6。
【46题详解】
there is有;now现在; greater understanding of更深入的了解;the life in the ocean海洋生物。故填:现在人们对海洋生物有了更深入的了解。
【47题详解】
根据“The first ship sailed (航海) all the way around the world about five hundred years ago. And the first journey to the deep sea floor was no more than one hundred years ago.”可知第一次航行至深海底则不超过一百年前,海洋探索的历史不够悠久,第一个空填long;根据“The huge pressure of the water would break an unprotected diver. That was why people needed special equipment.” That was why people needed special equipment.” That was why people needed special equipment.”可知巨大的水压会压垮没有防护的潜水员,这就是为什么人们需要特殊的设备,即除非他们有特殊的设备,否则他们无法到达海底,unless“除非”,第四空填unless。故填long;protect;help;unless。

【答案】例文
Dear John,
I’m glad to hear from you. Now I’ll tell you my opinion about the rapid development of AI.
The invention of DeepSeek (Kimi) has made AI a hot issue among people in our society. Many people feel worried about the rapid development of AI. But I don’t think so.
DeepSeek can help us do many things, like learning foreign languages, designing your trip. But I believe it is only a tool that people have used. So there is no need for us to worry too much about the development of AI. AI will never completely take the place of human beings. Instead, it has many advantages. AI can be used to do dangerous jobs and keep workers safe. For example, the AI snake robots can help look for people alive under the fallen buildings. AI helps scientists to do research in many ways.
In my opinion, AI is becoming more and more popular in the future. It will bring us a big surprise and make our lives more convenient.

There’s nothing to be surprised at that people can enjoy fast and convenient delivery (配送) service in cities and even small towns in China. However, here’s the news that may blow your mind—visitors at the Great Wall are able to receive supplies such as drinking water, food and emergency medicines within minutes.
The Badaling section of the Great Wall was first opened to visitors in 1958, and has since become very popular and received more than 200 million visitors from home and abroad.
At the Badaling section, there’s a place called the South Ninth Tower. It was opened to the public at the end of 2023. It mainly hosts activities such as outdoor hiking, adventure crossings, Great Wall studies and travel photography. To keep the original looks of the Great Wall, there aren’t any shops, so it is difficult for visitors to get supplies.
To solve this problem, the Badaling Great Wall scenic area worked with a delivery platform to start the service. After the delivery hours, these drones help carry waste.
In addition to the drone delivery service, visitors can also enjoy the amazing view of the Great Wall from a helicopter or a fixed-wing aircraft. These services will surely draw more visitors to the Badaling Great Wall.
16. When was the Badaling section of the Great Wall first opened to the public?
A. In 1958. B. In 2000. C. In 2023. D. In 2025.
17. The underlined word “hosts” in paragraph 3 probably means “________”.
A. cancels B. imagines C. organizes D. exchanges
18. Why is the drone delivery service necessary at the South Ninth Tower?
A. Because the area is too crowded.
B. Because visitors prefer modern technology.
C. Because drones can help clean the Great Wall.
D. Because there are no shops which sell supplies.
19. What is the right order of the drone delivery service?
① Drones get supplies that visitors order.
② Visitors scan a QR code to place orders.
③ Supplies are delivered within five minutes.
④ Visitors make sure the delivery service is within business hours.
A ①→②→③→④ B. ④→②→①→③
C. ②→③→①→④ D. ④→③→②→①
20. What is the main purpose of the text?
A. To introduce the history of the Badaling Great Wall.
B. To tell how drones help protect the Badaling Great Wall.
C. To show a new service of delivery at the Badaling Great Wall.
D. To compare different delivery methods at the Badaling Great Wall.

Users usually share personal details on AI platforms yet few companies clearly state how this information is stored or used.
B. AI robots will soon replace human therapists in hospitals.
C. AI can perfectly copy human therapists’ skills and methods.
D. AI has limits in understanding deep emotions and safety risks.
24. Why does the writer mention the Wysa app?
A. To give an example of safe AI under rules. B. To prove robots can deal with emergencies.
C To show AI is cheaper than human doctors.
