You can travel alone, with friends, or with a tour group. They all have strong points and weak points.
The best thing about traveling alone is that you can do what you want to do. No waiting around in places you are’t interested in, no missing a bus because your friend was late, etc. Your experience will be greatly improved by traveling alone. The main worry is loneliness, but it’s not difficult to talk to and meet people. Just remember everyone wants to meet new people, have fun and be friendly! However, there’s a safety problem in some countries, especially for women traveling alone. You should always check the Foreign Office of your country for advice on safety. Buying a personal alarm (警报装置) is a good idea for women traveling alone.
Traveling with a friend does sound nice, but it depends on how well you get on. If you have similar interests or travel ideas, it should be wonderful. You will find it much cheaper to cook food in developed countries and share a room. However, a lot of people I meet traveling together don’t seem to be having as much fun and often go their separate (各自的) ways.
Tours are great when they go well. Some of my best memories (记忆) have been with tour groups. The key there is when they go well. A terrible tour guide, quiet group and terrible food can ruin (毁掉) your time. My advice would be never to do a tour that is too long except in countries with safety problems or poor transport.
All in all, traveling alone is the best, but it is good to mix it up. Invite a friend from home to meet you for a few weeks. Try a tour group or two-some people love them-perhaps start with a day tour.
24.What should a woman do if she wants to travel alone?
A.Get an alarm. B.Don’t be late. C.Don’t talk to strangers. D.Check the weather.
25.What is the writer’s advice on traveling with friends?
A.Live in different rooms. B.Choose those who think similarly to you.
C.Always follow their travel ideas. D.Eat out when traveling in developed countries.
26.When should people choose long group tours?
A.If you’re a tour guide. B.If you’re a quiet person.
C.If it’s not easy to move around. D.If the daily food is not easy to get.
27.What advice does the writer give in the last paragraph?
A.Always travel alone. B.Start with a one-week tour.
C.Mix your friends up in the tour. D.Try different ways of traveling.

I’ll always remember the first time I tried ballet. My mother was a dancer and I wanted to be like her, but after making many mistakes during my first class, I felt like I wanted to give up right away. However, because it was only my first day, I told my mom I couldn’t wait to dance again.
Several weeks passed and my dancing didn’t get any better. Then my dance teacher told us that we were going to perform in a show. I was afraid of falling on my face in front of hundreds of people and made my mom sad.
I practiced hard for the show, but I still didn’t get the hang of it. Finally, I went to my mom to tell her how I felt. She just laughed and told me she would teach me all she knew about ballet. My mom quickly found out how bad at ballet I was, but she still taught me with the greatest patience, love and understanding. When I jumped and fell, she was there to catch me. When I lost my balance, she held me up. By the time the show arrived, I was as prepared as I could be.
The music began and my heart started to beat quickly. Breathing calmly, I began moving to the music without missing a step. When the music stopped, I ran off the stage and laughed with excitement.
My mom found me and gave me a huge hug, telling me how proud she was. I looked my mom in the eye and told her that there was no way this could have happened without her. Through this, I knew one important fact: My mom will always be there to catch me if I fall.

IShowSpeed, a popular U. S. influencer, recently made his first journey to China. His real name is Darren Watkins Jr., but in China he is jokingly called “Hyperthyroid Brother” (甲亢哥) because he is lively and full of energy. With over 37 million fans on the Internet, IShowSpeed showed the world a side of China that many had never seen before.
IShowSpeed’s journey began in Shanghai. In the morning, he played ping-pong with Jackson Wang, a famous singer and then watched the traditional lion dance excitedly. In the afternoon, he went to Shanghai’s People’s Park where a few old people taught him Chinese square dances. When he walked in the street in the evening, some strangers even pressed cups of milk tea into his hands. The warmth of Chinese people touched him a lot.
To follow his kung fu dream, he traveled to the Shaolin Temple. There, a kung fu teacher taught him kung fu and shared with him life lessons from years of training—“It’s pain, but it’s life. It’s pain, but it’s Shaolin. It’s pain, but it’s kung fu. It’s pain, but it’s you.”
On his tour of China, Chongqing was one of his favorite cities. Upon entering Kuixinglou Tower, he believed he was on the first floor—only to discover moments later that he was actually on the 22nd. Then he took Line 2 to Liziba Station where he saw the train pass through a building with his eyes widened. At Jiefangbei, IShowSpeed tried spicy ice cream for the first time in his life. At night, seeing the bright lights and modern city view on a boat ride, he cheered loudly, “I feel so amazed! Everything was so unreal!”
