In today’s digital age, artificial intelligence (AI) has become a popular tool in our daily lives, including education. Many students, especially those in junior high school, are turning to AI tools to help with their homework. While these tools can offer convenience, they also come with their own set of advantages and disadvantages.
AI does bring some advantages for students. First, AI saves time. Students can quickly find answers to difficult math problems or grammar questions. Second, AI provides learning resources. For example, some tools explain solutions step by step, helping students understand topics better. Third, AI supports personalized learning. Struggling (挣扎) students can practice repeatedly with AI feedback (反馈), while advanced learners can explore harder tasks.
However, there are also some disadvantages. Depending too much on AI can make students lazy and may stop them trying to solve problems independently. It’s not helpful to improve their thinking skills. This can hurt their learning in the long run. Another problem is that AI tools sometimes give wrong answers, especially for open-ended questions like essays. Lastly, using AI can lead to cheating. Copying AI-generated work without learning breaks trust between students and teachers.
AI can be a helpful study tool if used wisely. Students should treat it as a guide, not a replacement for their own efforts. Balancing AI assistance with active learning is key to success.
11.What is one advantage of using AI for homework?
A.It makes students lazy.B.It saves time. C.It is always exact. D.It replaces teachers.
12.What does the underlined word “personalized” in Paragraph 2 mean?

13.What is the result of students becoming overly dependent on AI?
A.They might develop better problem-solving skills.
B.They might struggle with traditional methods of studying.
C.They might reduce their own critical thinking abilities.
D.They might become more confident.
14.Why should students use AI wisely?
A.To avoid understanding concepts. B.To finish homework without thinking.
C.To enjoy its benefits and avoid shortcomings. D.To make AI replace their teachers.
15.What is the best title for this passage?
A.The Dangers of AI in Education B.How AI Replaces Teachers
C.Why Students Should Never Use AI D.The Pros and Cons of Using AI for Homework

Today, on April 24, 2025, at 5:17 p. m., the Jiuquan Satellite (卫星) Launch Center became very bright because of a big fire. The Long March 2F rocket took the Shenzhou-20 manned spacecraft into the sky. It flew fast towards the big universe. This day is very special. It’s the 10th “China Space Day” and also the 55th birthday of the “Dongfanghong-1” satellite’s launch.
Fifty-five years ago, on April 24, 1970, China sent its first man-made satellite, “Dongfanghong-1” into space. At that time, things were hard. But Chinese scientists didn’t give up. They worked very hard and solved many difficult problems. They wanted people to see the satellite, so they put a big “skirt” on the rocket. The “Dongfanghong-1” played the song “Dongfanghong” in space. It started China’s space journey.
Now, 55 years later, the Shenzhou-20 spacecraft (宇宙飞船) flies again. There are three astronauts in this mission (任务). Chen Dong is the leader. He has been to space twice. Chen Zhongrui and Wang Jie are new astronauts. This is their first space trip.
From “Dongfanghong-1” to Shenzhou-20, China’s space science changes a lot. Before, we just sent satellites into space. Now, we build space stations and do science experiments there. The shenzhou-20 has new technology. It can meet and join with the space station quickly. The batteries (电池) in it are better than old ones. They make the spacecraft lighter and work better.
But one thing never changes—the spirit of Chinese space scientists. They love their country and work hard. In the past, they made great things happen with few tools. Today, young scientists keep working hard, too. China’s space science will go further and make more great achievements.
16.Why is April 24, 2025 special?
A.It’s the first time China sends a spacecraft. B.China starts building a space station.
C.It marks two important space events. D.The “Dongfanghong-1” satellite is repaired.
17.What can we learn about Chen Dong?
A.He’s a new astronaut. B.He leads the Shenzhou-20 mission.
C.He built the space station. D.He designed the “Dongfanghong-1” satellite.
18.How are the Shenzhou-20’s batteries different?
A.They make the spacecraft heavier. B.They look bigger than old ones.
C.They cost more money. D.They help the spacecraft work better.
19.What was a problem for scientists when sending “Dongfanghong-1”?
A.Making the satellite be heard. B.Making the satellite be seen.
C.Choosing the right launch time. D.Finding enough money.
20.What’s the main idea of the text?
A.The history and growth of China’s space science. B.How to become an astronaut.

① In the morning, when you wake up, you turn on the lights. You can hear your mom preparing a shake in the blender. And in the room next door, your dad turns on the washing machine. Every time someone turns on an electrical appliance (电器), he or she leaves a mark. This is called an electricity carbon footprint.
② In the modern world, we cannot live without electricity. We use the electricity carbon footprint to show the influence on the environment. The size of our electricity carbon footprint is closely related to the amount of greenhouse gas emissions (排放).

Dear David,
How’s everything going? I have received your letter and I know you want to learn something about Chinese culture. Now let me introduce a wonderful chance to you.
Our school’s International Cultural Exchange Society will launch an online handicraft workshop named “Hands-on China”. It will start next Monday and run for 4 weeks, with classes scheduled on every Wednesday and Friday evening. The courses include paper-cutting, Chinese knot-tying, and clay figurine-making. To sign up, you just need to visit the official website of our school’s society and fill out the application form.
I recommend this workshop because it provides a practical and enjoyable approach to exploring Chinese traditional handicrafts, which matches your interest perfectly. You can interact with skilled craftsmen online, getting to ask questions and learn techniques directly.
In my understanding, Chinese traditional handicrafts are more than just beautiful art pieces. They are carriers of our nation’s history and culture, passing down the wisdom and artistic tastes of our forefathers.

C.The fun of space travel. D.Why China loves space science.

③ But what is the relationship between greenhouse gases and electrical appliances? Well, about 65% of the world’s electricity is made from fossil fuels (like coal, oil and natural gas). Burning fossil fuels produces plenty of greenhouse gases. This causes the Earth to warm up rapidly, leading to climate change. As a result, many natural disasters appear.
④ Actually, we can help protect the environment by reducing our electricity carbon footprint. Firstly, use electrical appliances that save electrical energy. For example, ask our family if we can use LED lights instead. Secondly, we can use the energy that comes from nature, such as wind power. Thirdly, remember to unplug (拔掉……的电源插头) the electronic devices that are not being used. Besides, turn off the lights when we leave a room. What’s more, avoid using air conditioners. We can use portable (便携式的) fans. Last but not least, it’s necessary to spread the importance of saving electricity. Speak to people around us directly or post something on social media. Call on more people to take action in their daily lives.
21.How does the writer lead into the topic?
A.By listing numbers.B.By giving examples.C.By asking questions. D.By explaining reasons.
22.What is used to show the influence of electricity on the environment?
A.The electricity carbon footprint. B.The amount of fossil fuels.
C.The use of electrical appliances. D.The number of natural disasters.

A.The explanation for climate change.
B.The process of producing electricity from fossil fuels.
C.The introduction to different kinds of natural disasters.

24.What can we do to make less electricity carbon footprints?
a. Use wind power. b. Don’t use LED lights.
c. Keep the lights on all the time. d. Use fans instead of air conditioners.
A.a, b B.b, c C.c, d D.a, d
25.What is the structure (结构) of the text? (①=paragraph 1, ②=paragraph 2...)
A.①/②/③/④ B.①②/③④ C.①/②③/④ D.①②/③/④
