The fisherman said:“Genie, you are so big, but the bottle is so small. I don't believe you can go back into this small bottle.
The genie said, "Watch me!" It turned into smoke and got into the bottle. The fisherman quickly closed the bottle. The genie shouted inside, but the fisherman didn't listen.
He threw the bottle into the sea. Then, he went home happily and safely.

The genie threatened(威胁) to turn him into a stone. The fisherman felt scared, but he gave the genie his only bread. "You must be hungry," he said.
The genie was shocked by the fisherman's kindness. No one had ever been kind to it before. It felt sorry and decided not to hurt the fisherman.
Finally, the genie gave the fisherman some gold. The fisherman took the gold home and lived a happy life.

The fisherman said to the genie, “I saved you. You should pay me back instead of killing me. And I can teach you some useful things to live a better life. Think about it.” The genie thought about the fisherman’s words for a long time and agreed with his idea. He set the fisherman free.

The fisherman was very scared. He asked, “Why? Didn’t I set you free from the jar?”
“That's why I'm going to kill you!” said the genie angrily. “But I’ll let you say how you want to die.”
Then the fisherman took a deep breath and thought for a moment. He was not that frightened. He said: “Since I must die, I must. But before I die, answer me one question.”
“All right, but be quick.”
“Were you really in the jar? You are so big and the jar is so small that it could hardly hold one of your feet.”
“Of course I was in the jar. Don't you believe me?”
“No, and I won’t until I see you in the jar with my own eyes.”
When he heard this, the genie changed again into smoke. Slowly the smoke went into the jar. When all of it was in the jar, the fisherman quickly put the lid on and threw it back to the sea.
Then the fisherman went back home without a single fish.
Version 3
The fisherman was very afraid, but he thought quickly. The genie was big and angry, but maybe not smart. Seeing a storm coming, the fisherman praised the genic, saying, “Wow, you are so big and strong. Can you change your size?” The proud genie happily said, “Of course! I am the strongest in the world!” The fisherman asked, “How big can you get?” The genie got bigger and bigger until he was as big as a mountain. However, he didn't notice the strong storm coming. The storm blew the genie away. The fisherman hid in his hut and watched. “He might be big and strong,” the fisherman said, “but he is too proud!”

There are many stories in China. Among all of the stories, I like Yu Gong Moves the Mountains best.
Once there was an old man called Yu Gong. Two high mountains stopped his family from walking to the other side. So Yu Gong decided to move the mountains.
Although Yu Gong was old, he decided to move the mountains with his family. So Yu Gong started digging. At that time, a "clever" man called Zhi Sou laughed at him and told him that it wasn't possible to move such high mountains. But Yu Gong didn't listen to him and said that his sons and grandsons would continue to move the mountains after he died. Did they finish moving the mountains? Yes! Later a god was moved by Yu Gong so he sent two gods to help him move the mountains.
The story reminds us that nothing is impossible as long as we work hard. We should not give up.
