The Qingming Festival
The Qingming Festival is one of a traditional Chinese festivals. It falls on April 5.
The most important custom of Qingming Festival is tomb sweeping. Families will visit the graveyard of their loved ones. They always clean the tombstones and offer the flowers to show respect to their ancestors. As the festival is in spring, it’s a good time to go on spring outing. Parents will take their children to the park, where they can play on a swing and fly kites.
But this year, the way of ancestor worship has changed. Network ancestor worship is welcomed by young people. Some people use social media and other online platforms to create virtual memorials for their ancestors. It saves resources and protects the environment.
Qingming Festival remains an important and meaningful holiday. It’s a time to remember the past, but also a time to enjoy the present and look forward to the future.

Progress means the act of going forward. Making any kind of progress can make us healthy and happy in life. By setting and actively working towards our goals, we can make progress in our life.
To make more progress in life, start looking at problems in a different way. Whatever happens, if we think positively, it can be useful and helpful. We need to know that problems are part of our life. After we solve problems one after another, we can make more progress and become stronger.
Having confidence (信心) is helpful for us to make progress. Confidence comes from different places, such as proper education, training or having good relationships. We should also stay with people who believe in our success and actively support us. These people can help push us towards progress.
Slow progress is still progress. Just as the old saying goes, “It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” Progress usually comes a lot more slowly than we expect. Even if progress is slow, try not to be worried. One important thing is that we keep taking steps towards our goals, and another is that we clearly remember what our goals are all the time. The actual speed isn't important.
The road to progress is not always smooth. Most progress often comes with setbacks along the way. Sometimes, maybe it feels like we're taking one step forward and three steps back, but it won't always be like that. Keep going towards our goals and we can much more easily make the progress we want.
Progress doesn't always happen in a straight line. As long as we keep working, we will achieve higher levels.

A.Set lifelong goals. B.Go forward easily.
C.Live healthily and happily. D.Think about new things.

The willow branch (柳树枝) is a part of the willow tree. In ancient China, willow branches were often used as a parting gift between friends and family 56 (member). Even today, willow branches 57 (mention) in many cases as a symbol of saying goodbye. Do you know 58 ?
One reason is that willow trees are strong. They can live 59 (easy) in any place, wet or dry, north or south. Because of this, giving a willow branch to say goodbye to loved ones is a way to tell them you hope they will get used to 60 (they)new living environment.
For another reason, the pronunciation for the willow tree “liu(柳)” is similar 61 the character “liu(留)” in Chinese, which means inviting someone 62 (stay)——only the tones are different. So 63 (offer) a willow branch means asking the other party to live for a longer time, even though we know that they must leave.
It's said that this custom became popular during the Han Dynasty. At that time, Baqiao, a bridge in Chang'an, today's Xi'an,was 64 common place to say goodbye. People often 65 (stop) there and handed willow branches to people who were leaving.

Sometimes, teenagers don't think their parents are fair to them now. It is a new problem. When you want to dress in a modern way, your mum doesn't like you wearing a miniskirt. When you are making phone calls to friends, they ask who you're talking to. This doesn't make teenagers happy. And of course, they become less patient.
Sometimes it seems that you're not as close to your parents as before. How can you become close again? Closing the Gap by American writer Jay McGraw teaches teenagers how they can have a better relationship with their parents.
The book gives ways to help children have a better understanding of their parents. When you think “my parents don't want me to have any fun”, that usually means your parents want you to be safe. Both parents and children have needs. You should tell your parents your need, and find out what their needs are. Then you can think of a way to make all of you happy. The book gives you some ideas.
a. Make time to talk. You could talk about your school life and your plans for the future.
b.Keep a diary. This is to help you understand more about yourself and your feelings.
c.Show your parents you are growing up. Wash your own clothes and help around the house. Your parents will feel you are no longer a small child.
If you follow these tips, you will be able to break down the walls between your parents and you.
