Buxin Primary School in Luohu District started using a “3+1+1” model, which includes three regular PE classes, one music-based exercise class, and one sports game class to make sure a total of five PE classes per week.
Because there aren’t enough PE teachers to teach all the new classes, the school had to ask teachers from other subject areas to lead many of the PE classes. One morning, they were doing math problems at the blackboard. David had copied the problems at the blackboard clearly and carefully. But he missed the fourth problem and began to cry.
Suddenly, a smile appeared on Miss Lee’s face. From the desk, she got a box filled with pencils. “Look, David,” she said kindly. “I’ve got something to show you.” She took out the pencils and placed them on his desk.
“Look at these pencils, David,” she continued. “They are Mrs. Green’s. See how the erasers are worn (磨损)? That’s because we make mistakes, too. But we erase the mistakes and try again. That’s what you should learn to do, too.”
She patted (轻拍) him on the back and stood up. “Here,” she said, “I will leave one of these pencils on your desk, so you’ll remember that everyone makes mistakes, even teachers.” David looked up with love in his eyes and a smile. 【答案】例文
A Puzzle Piece of Growth Growth is like solving a puzzle, in which every piece represents a significant moment, experience, or lesson that shapes us into who we are. Each piece, once placed correctly, contributes to a clearer picture of ourselves, revealing a more complex and multifaceted individual.
For me, one crucial puzzle piece of growth was overcoming my fear of public speaking. In middle school, I was extremely shy and would avoid speaking in front of others at all costs. However, a school project required me to present in front of the entire class. It was a daunting task, but I knew I had to face my fear. With much practice and encouragement from my teachers and friends, I finally stood up and delivered my presentation.
This experience taught me that growth often involves stepping out of our comfort zones and facing our challenges head-on. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about embracing our imperfections and using them as stepping stones to become better versions of ourselves.
