Back when I was little, I was shy and afraid of trying new things. I was afraid to speak up in class and make new friends. My heart would beat fast whenever someone asked me a question, and my face would turn red like a tomato. I spent most of my time playing video games and watching cartoons. I was comfortable in my little world, but I knew something was missing.
One day, I met a new friend, Sarah. Sarah was different from me. She loved trying new activities and meeting new people. She encouraged me to step out of my world, and we went on bike rides, and tried painting together. I was worried, but Sarah taught me that it’s OK to make mistakes and that failure (失败) is a stepping stone to success.
Slowly but surely, I started to change. I began to raise my hand in class, sharing my thoughts and ideas. Now, I’m a different person. I’m shy sometimes, but I’ve learned to be proud. I’ve discovered being myself is the best way to make true friends. Thanks to Sarah, I now see the world as a place full of possibilities (可能性). I’m not afraid of trying new things because they help me grow. I’m thankful for what I have become—someone brave, confident, and ready to explore the world, one step at a time.

There are so many things to look at in the world. Trees, birds, people, cars…and the list can go on and on. But do you know there are things that we can’t see? It’s true! These things are all around us, but they are so minuscule that we can’t see them without magnification.
When we say “magnification”, we mean making something look bigger without changing its size. Magnifying (放大) tools like microscopes (显微镜) and magnifying glasses make things appear larger when we look at them. This way, we can see things more easily.
Scientists say that our eyes can see things as small as 0.1 millimetres (毫米). To give you an idea, the smallest things we can usually see with our eyes are things like human hair. With powerful microscopes, however, we can see small things that are impossible to see with just our eyes.
Now, there’s a new invention called the “microsphere nanoscope”. It helps us see things up to 20 times smaller than before! Scientists think this tool could let them even study live viruses in a whole new way. _______
In the future, scientists believe that they’ll be able to develop this tool and see everything they want to see, no matter how small it is. And they are looking forward to the new research possibilities this tool will bring.

I often talk with friends, listen to music, buy books and get all the information I need online. It probably took days or weeks to do some of these things before the Internet was invented. It has made my life easier. I spend hours every day online. However, I think I spend a little too long on it. I’m sure looking at a computer screen isn’t good for my eyes. I think it’s also making me fat. I need to exercise a little more. Another thing I don’t like about the Internet is that it can be dangerous. I think students should be warned not to share their personal things with strangers online.

One day, Lily’s parents decided on a family trip around the world.
Their first stop was China. Lily was amazed to see how people used chopsticks to eat. She tried using them but found it difficult at first. “It’s like a fun game,” Lily said as she tried to pick up her noodles.
Next, they travelled to India. Lily was surprised to see people eating with their hands. She put her fingers into some rice and felt the soft rice between her fingers. It was messy but also a lot of fun!
Their exciting trip continued to Mexico. There Lily learned that families made bread called “pan de muerto” to remember their loved ones who had died. Lily thought it was a sweet way to honour them.

66. What does the underlined word “minuscule” in Paragraph 1 mean?
A. Cute. B. Small. C. Heavy. D. Boring.
67. What’s the best sentence for “_______” in Paragraph 4?
