From toothbrushes and shampoo bottles to furniture and clothes, plastic is used to make lots of everyday things. In fact, more plastic (just over 40%) is used for packing than anything else. Tests have shown that the plastic can break down in a few hours in seawater, and in around 10 days in soil. The new plastic has other benefits, too. It is safe and harmless. The plastic can be made hard and shaped into different forms at temperatures above 120℃, so it could be used to make all kinds of things.
