教学过程 Teaching Procedures
1. Lead-in (5 minutes):
Show a short video of a moonlit forest. Ask students, “What would you do if you were lost here at night?” Elicit words like “moonlight,” “shine,” and “ground” from students.
2. Pre-Reading (10 minutes):
Present the title Hansel and Gretel and pictures of a gingerbread house and a witch. Write core vocabulary on the board and let students predict the story in pairs. Then, share predictions with the class.
3. While-Reading (15 minutes):
Skimming (5 minutes):
Students read the text quickly to find the main idea. Answer the question: “What is the story mainly about?” Check answers as a class and write the main idea on the board.
Scanning (10 minutes):
Give students questions related to core vocabulary, e.g., “Why did Hansel drop breadcrumbs?” “How did the moonlight help them?” Students read again to find answers, then share and discuss.
In-depth Reading (10 minutes):
Divide students into groups of 4. Each group analyzes a part of the story, such as the characters' traits or the plot development. Then, groups present their findings to the class, with the teacher highlighting key vocabulary and grammar.
4. Post-Reading (10 minutes):
Group Discussion (8 minutes):
Discuss questions like “Was the stepmother completely wrong?” and “What can we learn from the story?” Encourage students to use new words and past tenses. Each group shares their ideas with the class.
Writing Task (7 minutes):
Students write a short summary of the story, including main characters, the problem, solution, and moral. They must use at least 6 new words and 2 complex sentences. After writing, peer-review with a partner.
5. Summary (5 minutes):
Recap the main plot, core vocabulary, and grammar points. Review reading strategies used in class.

教学反思
Teaching Reflection
Some students may have trouble understanding symbolic meanings and using past tenses correctly. In group work, participation may be uneven. Future classes should include more vocabulary-in-context exercises, targeted grammar practice, and clearer group-work roles
教学评价
Teaching Evaluation
Observe students' participation in class activities, including reading, discussion, and writing. Evaluate their use of vocabulary and grammar.
Assess homework for accuracy, fluency in retelling, and the quality of the comparison writing. Provide feedback for improvement.
