教学过程 Teaching Procedures
I. Lead-in (3 minutes)
Show short video clips of well-known Western fairy tales. Ask students “What stories are these? Why do you like them?” Then display a picture of “An Old Man Removes the Mountains” and introduce the topic of traditional Chinese stories.
II. Presentation (7 minutes)
Vocabulary Presentation:
Present new words with vivid pictures on PPT, e.g., show an image of a person shooting an arrow to teach “shoot”. Lead students to read and practice the words.
Sentence Pattern Introduction:
Demonstrate sentence patterns “What’s the story about?” and “It’s about...” with examples related to the target story. Have students repeat and practice.
III. Practice (15 mins)
Listening Practice:
Play the recording of 1b. Students listen and mark the words they hear. For 2a-2b, students listen to complete tasks like numbering pictures and filling blanks. Check answers and clarify difficulties.
Speaking Practice:
Pair students up. They practice asking and answering about the story in 2c, such as “What did the old man want to do?” “He wanted to move the mountains.” Monitor and correct mistakes.
IV. Production (15 mins)
Divide students into groups of four. Each group creates a dialogue about another traditional Chinese story. They use the learned vocabulary and sentence patterns. Then groups present their dialogues in class.
V. Summary (3 minutes)
Review key vocabulary and sentence patterns on the blackboard. Summarize the importance of learning traditional stories. Encourage students to explore more stories in and out of class.
作业设计 Homework Design

教学反思
Teaching Reflection
During the class, some students struggled with the pronunciation of new words like “remove” and “shoot”. In group activities, extroverted students dominated discussions, leaving quieter ones less involved. Also, many students found it hard to use sentence patterns creatively. Next time, more pronunciation drills and clear group-work roles are needed.
教学评价
Teaching Evaluation
Classroom Observation:
Assess students’ participation in listening, pair-work, and group-work; evaluate their pronunciation and language use.
Homework Assessment:
Check the audio recordings for vocabulary accuracy, sentence-pattern usage, and overall expression.
