China has successfully tested its first liquid hydrogen-powered electric unmanned aircraft (液氢动力电动无人机), known as an eVTOL, in Baoji city, Shanxi Province. This marks a big step forward in using liquid hydrogen for business purposes and encouraging the low-altitude economy (低空经济).
The eVTOL was created by a team of companies, including Shanxi Tongchen Heguang Cryogenic Technology Co Ltd, Dreamfly Technology Co Ltd and Qing Power Technology Co Ltd. It can fly for 4 to 5 hours on a single fill of liquid hydrogen, traveling 800 to 1,000 kilometers at an average speed of 240 kilometers per hour.
Li Yongxin, chief engineer of Shaanxi Tongchen Heguang Cryogenic Technology Co, explained that liquid hydrogen is much better than traditional fuels and lithium (锂) batteries. It’s a clean energy that doesn’t pollute and it works well even in very cold temperatures, unlike lithium batteries which lose a lot of energy in the cold. Liquid hydrogen also allows for much longer flights.
This successful test shows that liquid hydrogen can be used effectively in real-world situations, which could lead to its wider use. Li also mentioned that liquid hydrogen-powered eVTOLs could be used in many areas like firefighting, transport, and farming tasks such as watering, planting, and picking fruit.
China’s low-altitude economy is growing fast. The Civil Aviation Administration of China predicts that the market will grow from 500 billion yuan in 2023 to 1.5 trillion yuan by 2025, and could reach 3.5 trillion yuan by 2035, according to Xinhua News Agency.

①Green is the color of nature and the symbol of life. For thousands of years, humans have followed the laws of nature to live in harmony (和谐) with nature.
②That has been seen in ancient Chinese houses. Ancient Chinese often built their homes at the foot of the mountain with a river running nearby. The mountains could stop the cold wind from the north and the river provided water for life. Most houses were also built facing south or west so that the rooms were able to get enough sunshine in winter and keep cool in summer.
③In modern times, humans didn’t follow the laws of nature during fast development. Luckily, it’s never too late to make changes.
④Green development is the goal of all countries. On April 23, 2016, China signed the Paris Agreement on climate change, giving a strong push to the international efforts against global (全球的) warming.
⑤Also in China, the government added green development to the country’s work plans. From 1999 to the end of 2018, by carrying out Mother River Protection Operation, China raised 600 mil-lion yuan to build over 5, 700 green projects.
⑥Denmark (丹麦) is a leading country in wind and solar technologies. This year Denmark has started the “Power-to-X” plan, providing about 1.25 billion kroner (about 1.27 billion yuan) for projects producing hydrogen (氢气).
⑦Builders across the world are also playing a role in green development. In Chicago, pressed newspapers, recycled glass and plastic are used on buildings. In Bali, the green school is made from bamboo. The school gets its electricity from solar panels (太阳能电池板) , water power and a generator that burns farm waste.
⑧Following the laws of nature is the only way out. A small move in one country may influence the global community as a whole. Let s join our hands to make the world a better place for now and future.
36.Which of the following would the writer agree with?
A.Everyone is part of the green development. B.Green buildings are the future of the world.
C.Green development is just protecting nature. D.The future of humans depends on technology.
37.How does the writer develop his idea in Paragraph 7?
A.By explaining the results. B.By raising questions.
C.By comparing differences. D.By giving examples.
38.Which is the best structure of this passage?
A. B.
C. D.
39.What’s the best title?
A.The color of nature B.Following the laws of nature

China is taking actions to help people manage their weight and lead healthier lives. The government has announced a three-year “Weight Management Year” program from 2024 to 2027 to deal with obesity (肥胖), which can lead to serious health problems such as heart disease. Here’s what you should know according to the latest *guidelines:
Firstly, it is important to check your BMI (Body Mass Index). For adults, a healthy BMI falls within the range (范围) of 18.5 to 24. If your BMI is between 24 and 28, you are considered overweight; a BMI of 28 or higher means obesity.
Eating right is necessary, and exercise matters just as much! When it comes to diet, choose whole grains like brown rice, fresh vegetables, and proteins such as fish, chicken, or beans. Stay away from fried foods and sugary snacks, and also control your salt and oil intake. As for exercise, aim for 150–300 minutes of activities like walking, cycling or dancing each week, and strength exercises twice a week. If you find yourself sitting for hours while studying, make sure to stand up and stretch for 3-5 minutes every hour.
In addition to diet and exercise, small daily habits can also make a big difference. Teens should get 7 hours of sleep nightly, as poor sleep can cause you to put on weight gain. Try eating vegetables first, then meat, and finally rice or bread during meals.
Communities and hospitals are also taking part in. For example, some hospitals offer “weight clinics” replete with diet plans, exercise tips, and even traditional Chinese methods like acupuncture (按摩). By 2030, China hopes to slow down the growth of obesity through education and support.
Remember, losing weight simply starts with small changes, like drinking water or taking the stairs instead of the elevator. With these effortless steps, everyone can build a healthier future!
* guidelines: rules or instructions about the best ways to do something
40.Which of the following statements is TRUE according to the passage?
A.If your BMI is between 24 and 28, you are considered to have obesity.
B.Poor sleep can help you to lose weight.
C.180 minutes of dancing each week is enough.
D.To lose weight, you should use the elevator instead of taking the stairs.
41.The underlined phrase “replete with” probably means “________” in the text.
A.full of B.weak in C.good with D.short of
42.Which of the following statements best summarizes the text?
A.China is making great efforts to help people manage their weight.
B.Obesity is the most serious health problem in China.
C.People should only focus on diet and exercise to lose weight.
D.Schools and hospitals are important places in weight management.

The apartments we live in are “growing up”! On March 9, the government said that the minimum ceiling height (最低住宅层高) will be raised from 2.8 meters to 3 meters.
What difference will the 20 centimeters make? 43 Higher ceilings allow for bigger windows, making lighting better and letting more fresh air enter the apartment.
Today, apartment buildings usually have things like underfloor heating (地暖) and soundproofing (隔音) to provide a better living experience. 44 Raising the ceiling height can help solve this problem.
In 2000, the average (平均) height of Chinese men is about 167.7 centimeters. 45 Someone who is 184 cm tall can reach up to 2.26 meters with their arm raised. In a room with a low ceiling, they can almost touch it.
46 According to CCTV, some cities like Tianjin have already included rules to raise the ceiling height to between 3 and 3.3 meters in the past few years. But other cities aren’t the same.
47 This shows that living standards have largely improved. The government has introduced many policies (政策) to support people’s happiness.
A.But they take up space in your home.
B.People can do many activities in their houses.
C.It will make larger and more comfortable living spaces.
D.Recently, Chinese people have generally been getting taller.
E.The ceiling height is almost the same from the north to the west.
F.People in China have moved from just having a home to looking for quality.
G.Different places have different ceiling height rules because of local needs and building habits.

Later, Ma studied at Beijing Dance Academy. Since 2019, he has been teaching classical Chinese dance at Goldsmiths, University of London.
One year later, Ma tried teaching at home. But in his small home, he could only make small moves. One day, he took his wife’s suggestion and danced at Greenwich Park, a popular place for tourists. His wife took videos of him. He then edited the videos, added music and sent them to friends, who loved them and inspired him to share them online. From then on, Ma made more short videos. In North-west China lies the Taklamakan Desert—a huge golden sand sea covering 337,000 square kilometers. For centuries, the desert spread s 64 , eating up fields and houses. Its strong winds covered villages with sand and f 65 farmers to leave their homelands. Now, local farmers and workers are planting a “green wall”—thousands of kilometers of trees, bushes and grass, to s 66 the desert growing. These plants act like glue, keeping the sand in place. This sand-fixing planting is turning the desert into a green wall. Rows of the green wall have now prevented 70% of moving sand in some areas. Farmers e 67 grow wheat and fruit behind the green wall, bravely fighting the desert’s terrible living conditions.
Workers use smart m 68 to fight the desert. For example, drones (无人机) fly over remote places, dropping seeds (种子) and carrying water to help plants grow. Moreover, electronic tools under the ground check how w 69 the soil is all the time, like doctors keeping records of patients’ health. When it’s time to water, they send messages to farmers’ phones. At the same time, underground pipes transport water carefully to a 70 waste. These technologies provide a high level of service for all the farmers.
The green wall also b 71 life back. Birds return to their homes among the plants. Small animals like rabbits and insects find cover in the growing green spaces. China plans to build this wall across the whole of the Taklamakan. If it is s 72 , other desert countries may learn from it. Each seed planted becomes a brave fighter in the quiet war against the sand. Where nothing grew before, h 73 grows like a seed—a living wall whispers, “This land will survive.”

31.What is the importance of testing the liquid hydrogen-powered eVTOL?
