That afternoon, I went out to find a basketball court (球场). Dad said there was one around, but it was twenty-minutes’ walk away! When I got there, I saw three children playing some kind of one-on-one. Two of them were taller than me, and one was about my size.
The short boy played well, but the other two were too tall for him. One-on-one wasn’t his game. He needed someone to pass to. I went down to the other basket and played alone. Then I heard someone calling me. It was the short boy.

The Tappan Zee Bridge (塔本西大桥) was about for 62 years. It carried people across the Hudson River (哈德逊河), in New York. In 2018, it was given up, piece by piece.
Now some workers are recycling these large pieces and are dropping these into the sea. The Tappan Zee will start a new life as an artificial reef (人工礁).
Natural reefs are made of living things called corals (珊瑚). Other sea animals use coral reefs for food and shelter. And coral reefs are also great for people. Reefs make visitors more interested. Reefs help protect people by the sea from wind and rain, too.
But coral reefs are in trouble. Some colorful lives called algae (水藻) live on coral. When sea waters get too hot or too cold, the algae go somewhere else. Without algae, the coral has no food. Its color turns white. This is called coral bleaching (漂白). Sometimes, the coral dies.
Now about 93% of reef in Australia has been harmed by coral bleaching. Scientists say the reason is climate change and pollution.
That’s why people are building artificial ones. The reefs are made from large objects placed on the sea floor. Over time, coral and algae start to grow on them.

There is no air in space, so astronauts must wear special suits when they leave the space station. Astronauts cannot spend too long in space, as it is not good for their health.
