B Yang Yu, known as Jiaozi (“Dumpling”), is a visionary Chinese animation director who redefined modern storytelling through his masterpiece Né Zha Birth of the Demon Child. Born in 1980 in Sichuan Province. Jiaozi initially studied electrical medicine at West China Medical School, which is a well-known medical university. However, in 2003, he gave up medicine and chose to follow his passion for animation. Although his decision was not understood by others, to him, it is passion that deserves the most attention. Jiaozi’s career began with extraordinary perseverance. From 2005 to 2008, he taught himself animation software while living with his parents, who gave him a lot of support, both economically and mentally. Eventually he produced his first short film &ee Through. This 16-minute anti-war animation, created entirely by himself, won 30+ international awards, including the Best Animation Award at the Berlin International Film Festival. This success strengthened his determination to engage in animation design. His breakthrough came with Ne Zha, a five-year passion project that broke multiple records. The film features 1,318 special effects shots and went through 66 script revisions. Jiaozi transformed the classic Chinese mythological (神话的) figure into a misunderstood “demon child” who fights prejudice symbolized by the iconic line: “Destiny is not a trap — I’ll decide who I am!” This modern adaptation earned 5.04 billion yuan ($740 million), arousing global interest in Chinese animation. Jiaozi’s success arises from his obsessive attention to detail. He often spends months perfecting a single scene and insists on combining traditional Chinese elements with Hollywood-level 3D animation. Despite Hollywood job offers, he remains committed to advancing China’s animation industry, which he believes will receive global recognition one day. 24. Why did Jiaozi abandon a medical career? A. He pursued financial security. B. He regarded passion as his top priority? C. He thought studying medicine was demanding. D. He found anminton required scientific knowledge. 25. What is special about Jiaozi’s first short film. See Through? A. It took 10 years to complete. B. It won a Hollywood award. C. It was made by Jiaozi alone. D. It focused on medical themes. 26. What is the function of the numbers mentioned in paragraph 3? A. To criticize the high cost of the film. B. To stress the director s lack of experience. C. To display the director’ s efforts and the film’s success. D. To show the complexity of modern anminton technology. 27. Which of the following best describes the director of Ne Zha based on the passage? A. Diligent and modest. B. Ambitious and humorous. C. Responsible and sociable. D. Determined and passionate. C Lots of activities are linked to better brain health in old age. Experts say regularly speaking multiple languages may be especially beneficial by being intellectually stimulating. In a landmark paper, researchers found that dementia (痴呆) patients who were bilingual (双语的) developed symptoms four years later, on average, than those who weren’t. “We use language in all aspects of daily life, so a bilingual brain is constantly working,” said Mark Antoniou, an associate professor at Western Sydney University. However, despite the proven benefits of language learning for brain health, the actual impact of learning a new language later in life on cognitive (认知的) abilities is still a subject of ongoing research with mixed findings. Research by Dr. Antoniou and his colleagues found that while Chinese adults aged 60 and older improved on cognition tests after a six-month language learning program, people who played games like crossword puzzles did as well. Another small study found that older Italians who took English lessons for four months didn’t see any change in their cognition scores, but those who didn’t take the lessons saw their scores decline. Two recent studies found virtually no difference in cognitive performance after people took part in language-learning programs. The scientists who conducted those studies offered a few potential explanations for their disappointing results. One is that the participants were highly motivated volunteers, who may have already been at peak performance for their age, making it hard to see any improvements. Another is about the language programmes. “The studies looking into the issue have used language lessons that were very different in their length,” said Judith Grossman, a researcher. Some studies involved teaching participants for six months, while others for just one very intense week. To Dr. Antoniou, the findings are not entirely surprising. “No one would say that learning a new language for six months would be the same as having used two languages for your entire life,” he said. “Therefore, it’s ideal to get the ball rolling in childhood to maximize its ability to improve cognitive function throughout life.” 28. How does speaking various languages offer benefits? A. By keeping the brain active. B. By relieving mental symptoms. C. By improving one’s intelligence. D. By increasing language fluency. 29. What do the studies show about language learning in paragraph 2? A. It doesn’t show consistent cognitive improvement. B. It is more effective than playing crossword puzzles. C. It prevents the decline of old people’s mental health. D. It fails to bring any cognitive benefit to older Italians. 30. Why did the results in some language-learning studies turn out disappointing? A. Researchers used outdated teaching materials. B. Volunteers were already at their age’s cognitive peak. C. The language courses focused on irrelevant vocabulary. D. Participants lacked motivation to learn a new language. 31. What might be Antoniou’s suggestion? A. Examining scientific findings critically. B. Finding more ways to enhance cognition. C. Studying a new language from an early age. D. Learning essential skills throughout childhood. D The average age at which people started suffering from chronic (慢性的) conditions was 55 years in the 1980s, while this has dropped to 43 years today. Many of these conditions are related to unhealthy lifestyles, and personalized nutrition, which addresses our varying nutritional needs, is considered crucial in changing the trend. The Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and its partners have developed a mobile mini-factory for 3D-printed food, providing a practical solution for personalized nutrition. Traditionally, personalized nutrition involves providing food recommendations or shopping lists. With 3D food printing, everything is different. TNO created a mobile kitchen that produces “Nutri Bites”, which are made by printing a dough base, baking it, and adding personalized nutrients layer by layer through a print head. Unlike conventional mass production, where changes require modifying the entire process, 3D food printing can adjust food products in real time to match individual needs. The production of Nutri-Bites relies on a unique recipe, which is based on individuals’ health data, goals, and preferences, as well as measurements such as height and weight. Individuals need to fill in a questionnaire about the information to generate dietary guidance. Then the 3D printer makes the Nutri-Bites with the right balance of nutrients. The system can produce over 50,000 variants, all tailored to each person’s specific needs. TNO conducted two field studies to test whether Nutri-Bites could meet the needs of different individuals and situations, and whether they could be accepted as food that can improve performance or recovery. The first one tested Nutri-Bites on military personnel to enhance endurance, and the second study focused on hospital patients and their improvement. In both cases, the Nutri-Bites were well received by the target groups. Various directions are possible for future progress, such as refining and speeding up the production process, or developing other products. In addition, the food platform and its ingredients can be further developed to serve more target groups. 32. What does the underlined part “the trend” in paragraph 1 refer to? A. The expanding application of 3D-printed food in diets. B. The rapid advancement of personalized nutrition in healthcare. C. The earlier occurrence of chronic conditions in younger people. D. The growing number of people with chronic conditions globally. 33. How does 3D-printed personalized nutrition differ from the traditional one? A. It cuts the expense of mass production. B. It tailors food to individual needs instantly. C. It improves the process of making nutrients. D. It uses healthier ingredients to suit individuals. 34. What is the first step in the process of creating Nutri-Bites? A. Creating nutritional recipes. B. Collecting personal data. C. Forming dietary recommendations. D. Selecting proper ingredients. 35. What is the main idea of the passage? A. 3D-printed food offers a tailored solution to meet personalized nutritional needs. B. TNO’s questionnaires and data collection improve traditional food recommendations. C. Military personnel and hospital patients benefit most from Nutri-Bites in field studies. D. Chronic diseases now affect younger populations, requiring stricter dietary regulations. As technology continues to advance at an unbelievable pace, the role of AI has expanded into our daily lives, influencing how we work, create and even relax. ____36____ Imagine a world where AI handles your household chores. We sometimes imagine it to be a kind of heaven where the sun always shines, life is simple, and nature gives us everything. The other side of the picture is quite the opposite — you either starve to death or live like Robinson Crusoe, waiting for a boat which never comes. Maybe both ideas are partly true. Still, few of us have had the chance to know what desert island life is really like. Three men had such a chance not long ago. Their names were Jack, Tom. and Robin. They were moving a badly broken boat from the Virgin Islands to Miami for fixing. Halfway, the boat started to go down. In fear, Jack took a small rubber boat while Tom quickly picked up what they could — some food, matches, and cans of beer. Robin, the calmest of the three, helped tie everything together and gave each man some water before they set off. With sore muscles and nervous hearts, they rowed for hours before at last reaching a small coral island. But the island was far from heaven. There were almost no trees and no clean water. The empty land and hard truth quickly broke their dream. The three men sat in silence, looking at the sea. Robin tried to stay hopeful and said, “we are lucky to be alive.” Jack and Tom nodded, but worry was in their eyes. Facing an unknown future, they knew they had to use the few things they brought and anything they could find on the island. With no way to talk to others and no idea when — or if — they would be saved, they got ready to face what was ahead. Robin said, “We must take turns watching the sea, keeping the fire on. and looking for help.” He looked at his friends and added, “No one is coming today, but maybe someone will come tomorrow.” They walked around the island, trying to find something useful or a way to call for help. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Just when they began to feel hopeless, Robin saw something strange near the rocks. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025届芜湖市高中毕业班教学质量统测 英语试题卷 本试题卷共8页,满分150分,考试用时120分钟 注意事项: 1. How much is the shirt? A 29. A 30. B 31. 根据第一段中的“Experts say regularly speaking multiple languages may be especially beneficial by being intellectually stimulating.(专家表示,经常说多种语言可能会通过激发智力而特别有益)”以及““We use language in all aspects of daily life, so a bilingual brain is constantly working,” said Mark Antoniou, an associate professor at Western Sydney University.(西悉尼大学副教授Mark Antoniou说:“我们在日常生活的各个方面都使用语言,所以双语大脑一直在工作。”)” 故选A项。 根据第二段中的“Research by Dr. Two recent studies found virtually no difference in cognitive performance after people took part in language-learning programs.(Antoniou和他的同事的研究发现,60岁及以上的中国成年人在参加了六个月的语言学习项目后,认知测试成绩有所提高,玩填字游戏的人也是如此。 故选A项。 根据第三段中 “One is that the participants were highly motivated volunteers, who may have already been at peak performance for their age, making it hard to see any improvements.(其中一个原因是,参与者都是积极性很高的志愿者,他们可能已经达到了其年龄的认知巅峰,这使得很难看到任何进步)”可知,一些语言学习研究结果令人失望的一个原因是参与者是积极性很高的志愿者,他们可能已经达到了其年龄的认知巅峰,所以很难看到任何改善。 根据最后一段中 ““No one would say that learning a new language for six months would be the same as having used two languages for your entire life,” he said. “Therefore, it’s ideal to get the ball rolling in childhood to maximize its ability to improve cognitive function throughout life.”(他说:“没有人会认为只学习六个月的新语言能和一辈子使用两种语言的效果相同。因此,最好从小就开始学习新语言,以便最大限度地提升一生中的认知功能。”)”可知,Antoniou认为学习六个月新语言和一生使用两种语言不一样,所以理想的是在童年时期就开始学习语言,以最大限度地提高其在一生中改善认知功能的能力。由此推知,Antoniou建议从小学习一门新语言。故选C项。 D The average age at which people started suffering from chronic (慢性的) conditions was 55 years in the 1980s, while this has dropped to 43 years today. A Creating nutritional recipes. B. Collecting personal data. C. Forming dietary recommendations. D. Selecting proper ingredients. 35. What is the main idea of the passage? A. 3D-printed food offers a tailored solution to meet personalized nutritional needs. B. TNO’s questionnaires and data collection improve traditional food recommendations. C. Military personnel and hospital patients benefit most from Nutri-Bites in field studies. D. Chronic diseases now affect younger populations, requiring stricter dietary regulations. 32. C 33. B 34. B 35. On my first day in high school, I was amazed by the talent displayed by some classmates on the court. Determined to reach their level, I closely observed their techniques and spared no effort to practice every day. With persistence/perseverance, I gained the confidence to challenge the top players. Although I met with many difficulties, I always picked myself up and carried on. By the term’s end, my effort finally paid off/ bore fruit — I stood among the best in my class. This experience fills me with pride, strengthening the belief that determination and hard work can help us unlock our potential and achieve our goals. It also deepens my understanding of the old saying “Practice makes perfect.” 2: One Thing I’m Proud Of During my three years of high school, one experience that I’m truly proud of is when I organized a charity event for a local orphanage. As a member of the school’s volunteer club, I took the initiative to plan a fundraising campaign. I contacted the orphanage, gathered donations from students and teachers, and arranged a small party to deliver the donations. What makes me proud is that I saw the joy on the children’s faces when they received the gifts. It taught me the value of helping others and the power of teamwork. This experience also showed me that even small actions can make a big difference. I learned that giving back to the community is one of the most rewarding things in life. On my first day in high school, I was amazed by the talent displayed by some classmates on the court. On my first day in high school, I was amazed by the talent that was displayed by some classmates on the court. 1】One thing I am particularly proud of from my high school life is when I became a good table tennis player.(运用了when引导的表语从句) 【高分句型2】Although I met with many difficulties, I always picked myself up and carried on. Most of us have formed an unreal picture of life on a desert island. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】参考范文: They walked around the island, trying to find something useful or a way to call for help. Jack climbed a rock to look farther, but he only saw the endless sea. Tom picked up dry grass and small pieces of wood to keep the fire burning. Robin searched near the trees and found some old glass bottles. “Maybe we can put a note inside and throw it into the sea,” he said. They wrote a message, put it in a bottle, and sent it out with hope. As the sun went down, the fire grew weak. The three men sat close together to keep warm, their eyes full of worry and fear. Just when they began to feel hopeless, Robin saw something strange near the rocks. Walking closer, he was excited to find it was a broken mirror and a fishing net with a red flag reading “Rescue Team — North Beach”. “Look! We can use the mirror to send signals!” Robin shouted. Hearts beating faster, the three men tied the mirror to a stick and used it to reflect sunlight toward the sea. In the distance, a small boat seemed to be moving closer. They waved the mirror wildly. The boat began heading towards them! “They saw us!” Robin cried. The three hugged each other, tears filling their eyes. Rescue was finally coming. 行为类 ①爬上岩石:climb a rock/scramble up the rock ②搜寻:search/look for/hunt for ③喊:shout/cry 情绪类 ①担忧:worry/concerned ②恐惧:fear/dread/terror 【点睛】【高分句型1】As the sun went down, the fire grew weak.
