Off-roading driving adventure on 85,000 acres of hills of sand in California had become our tradition. I felt the blood rushing to my head, my heart pounding like the loud bass (低音吉他) in a car. It reminded me of the four bass-loving brothers who lived across from us growing up. As a little girl, I often wondered if Matthew and I would ever have their friendship. When Matthew found out he was to have a baby brother, he was over the moon. But to everyone’s surprise, “It’s a girl!” His disappointment was obvious. As soon as I could walk, my big brother was everything to me, my idol. But to him, I was an annoyance, though he found comfort in playing tricks on me. Yet, I put up with it, waiting for moments when he’d reach out from his loneliness. The brother-sister relationship is unique, and it’s often the longest relationship we have in our entire lives. After learning that I missed him, Matthew unexpectedly invited me to visit him at university. In his room, he handed me a drink. We didn’t need many words; as siblings, we had a simple way of chatting. He knew about my struggles — the family secrets — and became my rock. Years later, when I was left out from the family Thanksgiving, he refused to attend without me. Instead, we had dinner — just the two of us. My big brother, who used to be a bit mean to me, had become my protector and friend. But after our off-roading accident, I saw him differently — vulnerable and unprotected. “Are you okay? Are you bleeding?” I checked his injuries. The man I’d seen as strong was now human, delicate. As we got ourselves back upright, I realized it was time for me to be his protector. Our shared bond had grown even deeper. I looked at my big brother, and we both smiled. Without him, my life would be unimaginably different. It was my turn to protect him. Thankfully, we had let each other in. 24.Why did the author mention the four bass-loving brothers in the first paragraph? A.To highlight her admiration for their musical taste. B.To show her childhood longing for brotherly friendship. C.To explain the reason for her initial distance from Mathew. D.To illustrate the noisy environment of their childhood. 25.What did the author think of Matthew in her childhood? A.He was admiring. B.He was lonely. C.He was easy-going. D.He was annoying. 26.How did the author feel when hearing Matthew’s invitation? A.Worried. B.Surprised. C.Honored. D.Hesitant. 27.What was Matthew’s reaction when the author was left out of the family event? A.He tried to find out the real reason. B.He was a little angry but said nothing. C.He understood and accepted the fact. D.He accompanied her to dine elsewhere. 28.What did the author realize about her brother after the accident? A.He was different from her. B.He was not physically strong. C.He also needed protection. D.He depended much on her. 根据第一段“It reminded me of the four bass-loving brothers who lived across from us growing up. As a little girl, I often wondered if Matthew and I would ever have their friendship.(这让我想起了四个喜欢低音吉他的兄弟,他们从小就住在我们对面。当我还是个小女孩的时候,我常常想知道我和马修是否还会有他们那样的友谊)”可知,作者在本段提到了四个喜欢低音吉他的兄弟是为了表达她童年时对兄弟情谊的渴望。故选B项。 25.推理判断题。根据第二段“As soon as I could walk, my big brother was everything to me, my idol.(从我能走路起,我的哥哥就是我的一切,我的偶像)”可推知,作者仰慕童年的马修。故选A项。 26. 根据第二段“After learning that I missed him, Matthew unexpectedly invited me to visit him at university.(得知我想念他后,马修出乎意料地邀请我去大学看望他)”可推知,听到马修的邀请,作者感到很惊讶。故选B项。 27. 根据第二段“Years later, when I was left out from the family Thanksgiving, he refused to attend without me. Instead, we had dinner — just the two of us.(多年以后,当我被排除在家庭感恩节之外时,他拒绝独自参加。相反,我们吃了晚餐——只有我们两个人)”可知,当作者被排除在家庭活动之外时,马修陪她去别的地方吃饭。故选D项。 28.推理判断题。根据最后一段“As we got ourselves back upright, I realized it was time for me to be his protector. Our shared bond had grown even deeper. I looked at my big brother, and we both smiled. Without him, my life would be unimaginably different. It was my turn to protect him. Thankfully, we had let each other in.(当我们重新站起来的时候,我意识到是时候让我来保护他了。我们共同的纽带变得更加深厚。我看着我的哥哥,我们都笑了。没有他,我的生活会有难以想象的不同。轮到我保护他了。谢天谢地,我们让对方进来了)”可推知,事故发生后,作者意识到哥哥也需要保护。故选C项。 C Police officers with the ability to remember the faces of almost everyone they have ever seen are helping to crack down on crime. Gary Collins, an off-duty policeman, watched the London riots (暴乱) on TV. He immediately recognized several people and cut his holiday short to help with identification. Many rioters were caught on BBC cameras, but most of the images were poor and the criminals had covered their faces. He ended up spending six months going through the BBC news and managed to identify 190people, many from their eyes alone. His help was of decisive importance. Even with 200,000 hours of footage (镜头), facial recognition software managed to identify just one person. Collins is no ordinary police officer. Soon after joining the police force, he realized he had a special gift: after seeing a face briefly, he could remember it in detail even years later. He is known as a super-recognizer. This term was first used when a study estimated that 1 to 2 percent of the population have severe problems recognizing faces, called “face-blindness”. Another 1 to 2 percent are super-recognizers: they can recall up to 95 percent of faces they see for years, while an average person remembers about 20 percent. London Police set up a unit of super-recognizers after Collins proved it could be useful. It is the first of its kind in the world. Mick Neville, one of its founders, had realized that BBC news was not used efficiently in the court and did not seem to work as effective evidence. Neville’s unit has changed all that. Since it started, the tiny team of six officers has made nearly a quarter of all identifications in London, mainly by spending hours scanning film and photos. This is impressive, considering that there are 32,000 suspects in the city. This winning combination of human skill and technology has helped arrest criminals from pocket lifters to murderers. Many pickpockets admit guilt when they realize they have been caught red-handed stealing a wallet from the tourists. 29.What did Gary Collins do after the riots happened? A.He called the police immediately. B.He joined the rioters in the streets. C.He interrupted his vacation to assist. D.He ignored the situation completely. 30.Why is facial recognition software mentioned in the text? A.To prove its advantages over humans. B.To show the talent of super-recognizers. C.To suggest it may replace human efforts. D.To explain its limitations in identification. 31.What is the main role of super-recognizers? A.Tracking suspects using software. B.Providing decisive evidence for arrest. C.Identifying the faces of criminals. D.Training new officers in facial recognition. 32.What does the underlined word “red-handed” mean in the last paragraph? A.with handmade gloves. B.in an embarrassing situation. C.with blood in hands. D.in an act of committing a crime. 根据第二段“Gary Collins, an off-duty policeman, watched the London riots (暴乱) on TV. He immediately recognized several people and cut his holiday short to help with identification. (一名休假的警察加里·柯林斯在电视上观看了伦敦暴乱。他立刻认出了几个人,并缩短了假期去协助辨认)”可知,骚乱发生后,Gary Collins中断假期去协助辨认。故选C。 30.推理判断题。根据第二段“He ended up spending six months going through the BBC news and managed to identify 190 people, many from their eyes alone. His help was of decisive importance. Even with 200,000 hours of footage (镜头), facial recognition software managed to identify just one person.(最终,他花了六个月的时间浏览英国广播公司的新闻,并设法识别出190人,其中许多人仅凭眼睛。他的帮助具有决定性的重要性。即使有200000小时的镜头,面部识别软件只能识别一个人)”可知,提到面部识别软件是为了展示超级识别者的才能。故选B。 31.细节理解题。根据第五段“Neville’s unit has changed all that. Since it started, the tiny team of six officers has made nearly a quarter of all identifications in London, mainly by spending hours scanning film and photos. This is impressive, considering that there are 32,000 suspects in the city.(Neville的团队改变了这一切。自成立以来,这个由六名警察组成的小团队已经完成了伦敦近四分之一的身份识别,主要是通过花几个小时扫描胶片和照片。考虑到该市有32000名嫌疑人,这令人印象深刻。)”可知,超级识别者的主要作用是识别罪犯的面孔。故选C。 32.词句猜测题。根据最后一段“Many pickpockets admit guilt when they realize they have been caught red-handed stealing a wallet from the tourists. (许多扒手在意识到自己被抓住red-handed从游客那里偷钱包时承认了罪行)”可推测,扒手是正在实施偷窃行为时被抓住的,划线单词red-handed意思是“正在实施犯罪行为时”,与in an act of committing a crime意义相近。故选D。 D Oasis agriculture is a unique agricultural practice that thrives in the middle of arid and semi-arid regions, where water is a limited resource. These oases, usually forms where underground water reaches the ground, create fertile soil in deserts, allowing crops and plants to grow in such tough conditions. AlUla, an area in northwest Saudi Arabia, is a perfect example of this type of farming, with a history of thousands of years. The formation of AIUla’s oasis results from a dry riverbed that channels water from distant rain into the valley, enriching the soil with minerals from the neighboring basalt (玄武岩) plains. This natural water source not only helped plants to grow and attracted animals but also became the home of early human societies. Around 5, 000 years ago, people started to grow cereal grains in this area. Scientists have found evidence of ancient farming and diets in old grains, seeds, and wood, showing how important the oasis was for these early communities. Today, oases like AlUla are not only centers for farming but also places where trade, knowledge, and farming methods have been shared for centuries. However, these oases now face serious threats. For example, climate problems are changing rain patterns and making areas drier. Harmful farming practices and city expansion are using up water supplies, causing water levels to drop and soil to lose quality. Competition for limited resources is making social and economic gaps wider, putting oasis agriculture at risk. Without quick action, its future is uncertain. To protect oasis agriculture, sustainable management is needed. This includes using water-saving irrigation systems, avoiding water waste, and encouraging natural farming with varied crops. It is also vital to include local communities in protecting oases, as they have valuable knowledge passed down through generations. By doing these, we can ensure oasis agriculture survives and helps protect both Earth’s biodiversity and cultural history. 33.In which regions is oasis agriculture mainly applied? A.Regions with limited water. B.Regions with frequent floods. C.Extremely cold regions. D.Highly populated regions. 34.What is the primary cause of AlUla’s oasis formation? A.The discovery of ancient farming and diets. B.Minerals from the nearby plains. C.A dry riverbed transporting rainwater to the valley. D.The settlement of ancient people. 35.Why are the examples mentioned in Paragraph 3? A.To analyze the limitation of oasis agriculture. B.To prove the importance of oases. C.To stress the effects on developing oasis agriculture. D.To illustrate the specific threats to oases. 36.Which suggestion does the author agree with? A.Growing single crops for higher efficiency. B.Adopting eco-friendly farming policies. C.Relying only on government-led conservation. D.Banning using all irrigation systems. 根据第一段中“Oasis agriculture is a unique agricultural practice that thrives in the middle of arid and semi-arid regions, where water is a limited resource.( 绿洲农业是一种独特的农业实践,在干旱和半干旱地区蓬勃发展,在那里,水是有限的资源。)” 故选A项。 34. 根据第二段中“The formation of AIUla’s oasis results from a dry riverbed that channels water from distant rain into the valley, enriching the soil with minerals from the neighboring basalt (玄武岩) plains.( AIUla绿洲的形成是由于干涸的河床将远处的雨水引入山谷,使土壤富含来自邻近玄武岩平原的矿物质。)” 根据第三段开头提到“However, these oases now face serious threats.( 然而,这些绿洲现在面临着严重的威胁。)”以及后面举例“For example, climate problems are changing rain patterns and making areas drier. Harmful farming practices and city expansion are using up water supplies, causing water levels to drop and soil to lose quality. Competition for limited resources is making social and economic gaps wider, putting oasis agriculture at risk.( 例如,气候问题正在改变降雨模式,使地区变得更加干燥。有害的耕作方式和城市扩张正在耗尽供水,导致水位下降,土壤质量下降。对有限资源的竞争正在扩大社会和经济差距,使绿洲农业面临风险。)”这些例子具体说明了气候问题、有害的农业实践、城市扩张以及对有限资源的竞争等对绿洲造成的具体威胁。故选D项。 36.推理判断题。根据最后一段中“To protect oasis agriculture, sustainable management is needed. This includes using water-saving irrigation systems, avoiding water waste, and encouraging natural farming with varied crops. It is also vital to include local communities in protecting oases, as they have valuable knowledge passed down through generations.( 为了保护绿洲农业,需要可持续的管理。 Wildlife documentaries are known for offering breathtaking images of animals in their natural habitats. You might be thinking that these shows offer a totally real portrayal (描绘) of these animals-an objective window into their lives as they hunt, rest and raise their young. 37 While the images we see are filmed on location, many of the sounds are recorded in a sound studio and added to the programs later by human “Foley artists (拟音师)”. 38 Usually, documentary filmmakers can film their subjects from a great distance, but they typically can’t get close enough to capture clear sounds without disturbing the animals. 39 There will probably be background noises such as crew members chatting or walking around if sounds are recorded on location. In other cases, the animals might make sounds of a frequency or volume that most microphones simply can’t capture clearly. “Foley artists” will use a variety of tools to simulate (模拟) the sounds made by animals. And most of them will create the close-up sounds of animals chewing or yawning with their own mouths. These sounds are created as the artist watches the videos, making sure they perfectly match the actions they’re paired with. 40 Animal cries — which are far too complex to be simulated — will have to be taken from library recordings. Watching “Foley artists” at work on wildlife projects gives me a thrill like the one we get when we see how a magic trick is done. Admittedly, the significance of the technique goes further. 41 Sounds have the ability to affect our understanding of a given species. A.But this isn’t quite the case. B.There are some exceptions, though. C.The Foley process involves a large team. D.Wildlife documentaries also tend to require large crews. E.Sounds guide our emotional interpretation of the things we see F.This is an unavoidable outcome of modern wildlife filmmaking. G.How it is portrayed in documentaries may also impact conservation efforts. 37.根据下文“While the images we see are filmed on location, many of the sounds are recorded in a sound studio and added to the programs later by human “Foley artists (拟音师)”.(尽管我们看到的图像是在现场拍摄的,但许多声音是在录音室录制的,并由人类“拟音师”稍后添加到节目中)”可知,虽然图像在现场拍摄,但录制声音的方式有所不同。A项“但这并不是完全如此”与上文“You might be thinking that these shows offer a totally real portrayal (描绘) of these animals-an objective window into their lives as they hunt, rest and raise their young.(你可能会认为,这些节目对这些动物进行了完全真实的描绘,为它们狩猎、休息和养育幼崽的生活提供了一个客观的窗口。) ”构成转折关系,引出下文,符合语境。故选A。 38.根据上文“While the images we see are filmed on location, many of the sounds are recorded in a sound studio and added to the programs later by human “Foley artists (拟音师)”.(尽管我们看到的图像是在现场拍摄的,但许多声音是在录音室录制的,并由人类“拟音师”稍后添加到节目中)”表明,图像和声音不是同时录制的;根据下文“Usually, documentary filmmakers can film their subjects from a great distance, but they typically can’t get close enough to capture clear sounds without disturbing the animals.(通常,纪录片制片人可以从很远的距离拍摄他们的主题,但他们通常无法在不打扰动物的情况下足够近地捕捉到清晰的声音)”解释了图像和声音不能同时录制的原因。 39.根据下文“There will probably be background noises such as crew members chatting or walking around if sounds are recorded on location.(如果在现场录制声音,可能会有工作人员聊天或走动的背景噪音)”解释了现场录制声音的背景噪音问题。 40.上文““Foley artists” will use a variety of tools to simulate (模拟) the sounds made by animals. And most of them will create the close-up sounds of animals chewing or yawning with their own mouths. (运用了which引导的非限制性定语从句) 【高分句型2】This activity was far-reaching, which fueled our interest in traditional culture. (运用了which引导的非限制性定语从句) 第二节(满分25分) 67.阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 “Mom, please, please,” I begged. “Please, let me do it by myself.” I had never made cookies by myself before. But I’m nine and old enough to do many things. “Alana is going to cook? Alone?” my brother, Caleb, asked with a laugh. “That’s going to be a disaster!” Caleb uses big words to act older and smarter than me. Having a big brother can be annoying. My parents looked at each other. My dad lowered his eyebrows. Would they let me do it? I held my breath. “OK,” Mom said, “But Alana, please take your time. Be careful.” Sometimes I think my parents have no faith in me. Sure, I’ve made a mess. I once accidentally dyed (染色) my hands purple, and it didn’t wash off for a week. But that was before I turned nine. I would know better now. My parents should realize that! To make delicious cookies, I reviewed the recipe carefully. After that, I raced to the kitchen and got everything ready like butter, salt, eggs, flour, baking powder, a baking sheet, and an oven (烤箱). I went to work. I opened eggs and put a cold stick of butter into the bowl. Using a mixer was easy. I turned on the mixer at medium speed — and whoa, whoa. Whoa! “WHOA!” I cried. What a disaster! I had to wipe butter off my face, then off the cabinets (柜子), countertop, and floor. Butter is really oily. “Yuck! Alana’s a mess! Alana’s a mess!” my brother taunted (奚落). “Caleb, you just get out of here. Leave me alone!” I yelled, waving a spoon. Caleb laughed and walked away. However, I determined to prove to everyone that I was grown up and in control. I put down the cookie sheet and picked up the directions. What had gone wrong? Then I saw it. I had forgotten to add two cups of flour before mixing well! 注意: 1.续写词数应为150个左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Paragraph 1: I started again carefully. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: I brought a plate of cookies into the living room with pride. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】A possible version: Paragraph 1: I started again carefully. Cracking the eggs, I slid them into the bowl. With butter and salt added, two cups of flour were soon poured into the mixture before the mixer was turned on — this time, nothing went wrong. I breathed a sigh of relief. Next came a sprinkle of baking powder. I mixed everything together until it became a soft dough. Then I rolled it into small balls, which were then put on a baking sheet in the oven. Within minutes, a fantastic scent filled the kitchen — the smell of cookie success! Paragraph 2: I brought the cookies into the dining room with pride. Hardly had I put them down when I asked my family to have a taste. Seeing the perfectly golden brown cookies, they wondered, their eyes widened. “You did it! All by yourself.” mom said, smiling as she chewed. “Great job!” Dad said, finishing his second cookie. A wave of joy and accomplishment overwhelmed me. “Terrific!” Caleb shouted, shooting me a hearty smile. I couldn’t hide my surprise at his change. The cookies, warm and fragrant, witnessed my growth. 词汇激活 行为类 ①混合:mix/blend ②放下:put down/lay down ③完成:finish/complete 情绪类 ①喜悦:joy/delight ②惊讶:surprise/astonishment 【点睛】【高分句型1】With butter and salt added, two cups of flour were soon poured into the mixture before the mixer was turned on — this time, nothing went wrong. B “Are you okay?” My brother Matthew asked from the driver’s seat as we hung upside down, trapped by our seat belts and covered in sand. C Police officers with the ability to remember the faces of almost everyone they have ever seen are helping to crack down on crime. D Oasis agriculture is a unique agricultural practice that thrives in the middle of arid and semi-arid regions, where water is a limited resource. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Wildlife documentaries are known for offering breathtaking images of animals in their natural habitats. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节 (共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 Mariatou, a woman from a small village in Senegal, had always dreamed of building a better life for her family. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试卷第1页,共3页 试卷第1页,共3页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$■ 2025年高考模拟考试 英语·答题卡 姓 名: 缺考 贴条形码区 准考证号 标记 □ 0 D C 0 -N1o410o0 -N 1 ,1 -24c .1 -N^1o 1 1 耿 注意事项 (Nc) -- 2 C 4 CN 。 1. 选择题(请用2B铅笔填涂) 1 1A11B11C1 6 1A][B]|C] 11 [A][B1[C1 16 [A][B1[C] 7 [A11B1IC] 12 IA][B][C] 2 1A11B11C1 17 [A]1B11C] 封 8 [A]1B][C] 13 [A1[B][C] 3 [A]IB1[C] 18 [A1[B1[C] 9 [A11B1[C] 4 [A][B][C] 14 [A][B][C] 19 [A11B1IC1 15 [A][B]IC] 5 [A1[B1IC] 10 [A1|BIIC] 20 [A1IB1IC] 26 [A1[B1[C][D] 31 [A1[B1[C1ID] 21 [A1[B][C11D] 36 [A11B1[C11D1IE1IF]IG] 22 [A11B11C11D1 27 IA11B1IC11D] 32 [A11B11C11D] 37 [A]IB1IC1ID11E1IF1IG] 28 [A]IB]1C1[D] 3 IA1[B1[C11D] IA11B1IC11D] 38 [A]IB]IC1[D]IE]IF]1G] 29 [A][B1[C][D] 34 [A][B][C][D] [A][B][C][D] 39 [A1IB1IC]ID1[E1IF]IG] 215 30 1A]IB]IC]1D] 35 [A1[B]1C11D] IA1IB][C11D 40 [A]IB]IC][D][E][F][G] 46 [A11B11C]1D] 41 A]IB]1C11D 51 [A1[B11C11D] 班
