【答案】范文
Good morning, everyone!
I am going to talk about one real hero in my heart. In my opinion, a hero is someone or something that has a power of inspiring and guiding others.
He was a famous physicist who studies the universe and made big achievements. He had serious physical problems, and can only move one finger. But he never gave up life, and he never stopped considering about the most difficult physics puzzles. He was Stephen Williams Hawking. His strong will for life and great enthusiasm for science helped him to ignore the terrible disease and kept thinking. Hawking interpreted the saying “While there’s life, there is hope”.
When I am faced with adversity, it is his heroic spirit that inspires me to overcome difficulties and continue moving forward. From now on, tell yourself to have a valuable goal, take the spirits that we learn from Hawking, and then: Are you ready to be a hero?

As I walked towards the track, I glanced around me at the sea of faces in the stands, but my mind was focused. After I finished the six events of the heptathlon (七项全能) , the Olympic gold medal was just minutes away.
My heart was beating loudly, my mouth was dry and the adrenaline (肾上腺素) was pumping. I was so close to the realization of my childhood dream and the feeling was fantastic; it was completely exciting, but also terrifying. I knew I would have to push myself beyond my known limits to ensure that my dream came true.
I tried to keep calm, telling myself not to panic, to stick to the plan and to run my own race .I knew the Russian girls would set off quickly — and I had to finish this race fewer than ten seconds behind the Russian athlete Yelena Prokhorova. If I could do that, the gold medal would be mine.
I looked at the track and caught my breath. The 800m race stood between me and the gold medal.
The supporters were cheering so loudly that it seemed as if they were the only fans there. I could hear my name being called. I could hear the shouts of encouragement and the cries of hope. Flags fluttered all around the vast, beautiful stadium. I felt unified with the crowd — we all had the same vision and the same dream.
My ankle (脚踝) was bandaged against an injury I had got in the long jump just a couple of hours earlier, but I shut out all thoughts of pain. I just tried to concentrate on the crowd. Their cheers uplifted my spirits and I felt calm.
I knew I would do my best and that I would run my heart out and finish the race. I had just two laps to run, that was all. Just two laps and only two minutes. I kept telling myself, anyone could run for two minutes.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150 左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题纸的相应位置作答。
The starting gun was fired, and the race began.

Prokhorova was running ahead of me.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】
The starting gun was fired, and the race began. Prokhorova had taken the lead right from the start. I knew it was crucial not to let her build too big of a lead. As we heard the bell signaling the final lap, I was 2.3 seconds behind her. Just one lap to go! Determination surged through me as I pushed forward, believing I could do it. In the last 150 meters, the thunderous roar of the crowd provided a boost at exactly the moment I desperately needed it — just as my legs were burning and I saw the gap opening between me and the Russian. Thankfully, my foot was holding out.
Prokhorova was running ahead of me. I had to keep up with her. I started counting down the meters I had left: 40m, 20m, 10m. I knew I could do it, but it would be a close finish. Then, finally, the finish line came into view. With the last ounce of strength, I crossed it, completely exhausted. I stood there, looking up and waiting for confirmation. And then, the moment that would stay with me for the rest of my life arrived — my name in lights. That was when it all hit me: relief, a moment of calm, and a silent gratitude to my inner self. I was the Olympic champion! I made it.

On Dec. 20, Mello called his mother on FaceTime, which he does every day after school. That afternoon, Mello broke down in tears the moment his mother, Anita James, answered the phone. “Mello, what happened?” James asked her son on the phone.
“I’m getting tired of them bullying (欺凌) my friend about his shoes. It’s making me so upset,” he answered in a serious voice, explaining that his classmates made fun of his friend Melvin for having worn-out (穿破的) muddy sneakers.
James listened to Mello’s narration with a thoughtful expression. Then, Mello earnestly asked, “Can we go buy him some shoes?”
James told her son they would talk about it when she got home from work. During their in-person conversation a few hours later, James found her son still upset. At last, Mello decided to buy his friend a fresh pair of sneakers to get rid of bullies and remind him that he has people who care about him.
“Can I use my pocket money, or you can take something away that I would get for Christmas?” Mello asked his mother.
The sincere request from her son hit James for many reasons, including that when she was growing up, her older brother used to buy her sneakers when her parents couldn’t afford them. Now, in their adult lives, James buys her brother a pair of sneakers for his birthday every year to show her appreciation. James was so touched by her little boy’s genuine care for his friend and she knew how it would matter to the poor kid, Melvin.
That evening, they went to a sneaker store and bought a pair of black-and-white Nike shoes for Melvin. Mello used savings from his pocket money to pay for the $85 shoes. This way, Mello thought, “nobody could laugh at him or say anything about him anymore.” Mello was so excited to give Melvin the gift that he woke up nearly an hour early for school.

Paragraph 2:
Bryant Brown, the school’s social studies teacher, found the shoe box on Melvin’s desk.

【答案】Before class began, Mello handed his friend the orange Nike box in private. When told it was a gift for him, Melvin was totally shocked and immensely touched at such a nice gesture from his friend. Mello beamed with a warm smile on his face, as if he had anticipated Melvin’s reaction, and whispered in his friend’s ear that there would be no more teasing from other kids about his worn-out shoes. After weeks of getting constant smirks about his sneakers, Melvin couldn’t wait to put on his new shoes. Looking at the shiny Nike shoes on Melvin’s feet, Mello was overjoyed.
Bryant Brown, the school’s social studies teacher, spotted the shoe box on Melvin’s desk. He asked Melvin for the backstory. It brought the teacher to tears. After asking for the two boys’ consent, he decided to share the story on Facebook, hoping it might inspire others. The post got thousands of likes, shares and comments. Brown was stunned by the response. He is now planning to launch an anti-bullying campaign in the coming weeks. Hundreds of students, parents and teachers have signed up for the activity with the hope that there’s no place in the world for bullies and Mello’s helping hand always lives on.

There was a time in my life twenty years ago when I was driving a taxi to earn a living. I encountered people whose lives amazed me, made me laugh and made me weep. But none of those lives touched me more than that of a woman I picked up late on a warm August night.
That night, I was called at 2:00 am to pick someone up. When I arrived, the building was completely dark except for one light in a window. In this case, many other drivers would just honk (按喇叭) once or twice, wait a short minute, then drive away.
But I always went to the door to find the passenger. It might, I reasoned, be someone who needed my assistance. I walked to the door and knocked. “Just a minute,” answered a weak and elderly voice. After a long wait, the door opened. A small woman in her 80s stood before me. By her side was a small suitcase.
“Would you carry my bag out to the car?” she said. I took her suitcase and gave her my arm. We walked slowly to the street. She kept thanking me for my kindness.
“It’s nothing,” I told her. “I try to treat my passengers how I want my mother treated.”
“You’re such a good boy,” she said. When we got in the taxi, she gave me an address. Then she asked, “Could you drive through the downtown?”
“It’s not the shortest way,” I answered.
“I don’t mind,” she said. “I’m in no hurry. I’m on my way to a hospice (临终安养院).” I saw her eyes shining with tears.
“I don’t have any family left, she continued. “The doctor says I should go there. He says I don’t have very long.”
I quietly turned off the meter (计程器). “What road do you want me to take?” I asked.

Paragraph 2:
I did not pick up any more passengers that day, driving aimlessly, lost in thought.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】For the next two hours we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked. We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived. Sometimes she’d ask me to slow in front of a particular building and stare into the darkness, saying nothing. When morning broke, we arrived at the address. She asked, “How much should I pay you?” “Nothing,” I said. She thanked me and said, “You give an old woman a little moment of joy.” Then behind me, a door was shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life.
I did not pick up any more passengers that day, driving aimlessly, lost in thought. We’re conditioned to think that our lives center on great moments. But great moments catch us unawares. When that woman said that I had brought her a moment of joy, I had good reasons to believe that I had been placed on earth for the single purpose of providing her with that last ride. I do not think that I have ever done anything in my life that was any more important.

It was a bright, cold, spring, Thursday afternoon. As Zack was making a sandwich, he saw his mom, Grace Garcia, step down the stairs with a sad expression on her aged face.
“Zack,” Grace paused, trying to sum up her thoughts,“Ms. Savitt had a heart attack this morning.” Just then, Zack began recollecting the bitter memories of living across the street from Ms. Savitt. She would always yell at him to get off her lawn and to settle down to give the neighborhood a break from all of his noises.
“Oh,” Zack said, “that’s too bad.” Grace Garcia could tell that Zack was actually not disappointed at all. She was shocked. This was because, when Zack was four years old, his parents divorced (离婚). His father left with most of the money. At that time, Grace did not have a job, so she was left with barely any money to support her and her son. It was Ms. Savitt that kindly offered for them to stay at her house at any time. If Grace was busy, she would take care of Zack for as long as necessary. Of course, Zack was aware of this years later, but he still did not realize the importance of Ms. Savitt in his life.
Grace Garcia strictly said, “Zack, I have already scheduled for you and me to visit her in the hospital, tomorrow after school, ”Grace looked at Zack and noticed that he rolled his eyes with anger.
“Do I really have to? I’m telling you, mom. Ms. Savitt always got really mad at me whenever I would not even do anything. And besides, I have plans tomorrow and I don’t want to waste my time going to a hospital and seeing that lady!” Zack was shocked at his own outbreak, that he didn’t even want to look in his mother’s eyes because he was too ashamed for treating his mom and even Ms. Savitt that way.

The next morning, Zack saw a note on the fridge. It was from his mom, saying she had to go to work early and would meet him at the hospital later. He sighed, knowing he couldn’t avoid the visit. As he made his way to the hospital, his thoughts drifted back to the past, recalling Ms. Savitt’s kindness and his own childish behavior. When he entered her room, he was surprised to see how frail and vulnerable she looked. His heart softened, and he approached her bed with genuine concern. That day, Zack realized the true value of kindness and learned to appreciate the people who had helped him in his life.

It was our first winter in Chicago. Just as the animals were hibernating (冬眠), it seemed that so were our new neighbors. As newcomers, we felt alone.
Then something happened. It all began with a simple request from our eight-year-old daughter. “Mommy, let's put up a Christmas tree at home. ”
At first, we didn't pay too much attention to this request, for we had never put up a Christmas tree. But my daughter's repeated request made us go ahead with this first step: loaded with layers of clothing to fight the unfamiliar cold, we tasked ourselves with finding a tree for our daughter.
When we finally selected our tree, we realized we didn't have a car big enough to get it home. Of course, we had not considered that. It was our first time. We had no choice but to carry it home. We had walked only a few steps when a gentleman in our neighborhood stopped his truck and offered us a ride home. Our first friend.
The Christmas tree was propped up (支起) in our living area but it was too dark. We needed Christmas lights! So, the next evening, we went to a store and asked for lights. The storekeeper, who, after getting over the surprise of our seemingly silly questions, explained to us that we needed multi-colored lights. Thanking the kind soul, we left with our lights and his warmth. Our second friend.
That night, we carefully wound the lights around the tree and excitedly held our breaths for the beauty of the first glow. Still, it looked like something was missing: small ornaments (装 饰) . Where would we get them? One lady across the street had a breathtaking tree carefully placed in a window for all to see. Every night, I stood behind the curtain, spending unnatural amounts of time studying the bells and whistles in her tree.

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Sara. She had a passion for soccer that burned brighter than any other flame in her heart. However, Sara faced a big challenge — her legs were not as strong as her friends, requiring her to rely on crutches (拐杖) for support.
Saras friends gathered on the soccer field every day, their laughter and shouts of excitement filling the air. She watched them with envy, longing to join in their games. But whenever she tried to play, the reality of her limitations would hit her hard, and she would feel a wave of disappointment. Despite this, Sara refused to let her dreams die. She loved soccer with all her heart, and she was determined not to give up.
One day, the school announced an important soccer match. Sara's heart skipped a beat when she heard the news. She wanted to participate more than anything, but she knew that many kids would doubt her abilities because of her legs. Instead of giving up to their doubts, Sara chose to accept them as a source of strength.
She began practising hard every day after school. Using her crutches, she kicked the ball with all her strength, gradually mastering the art of balancing herself. Sometimes, she would fall down, but each time, she would pick herself up with determination. Her face would be sweaty and dirty, but her eyes would shine with determination.
Finally, the day arrived. Sara's team had made it to the final match, and she had been given a chance to play. The crowd roared with excitement as she took her position on the field. Everyone cheered her on, their voices a mix of encouragement and admiration. Although Sara couldn't run like the others, she used her skills and wisdom to pass the ball, her crutches becoming her secret weapon (武器) on the field.

One of my best friends is named Lisa. If you’d told us a month ago that one day we would need space from each other, we would have said, “It will not happen!”
But then Lisa's family won a five-day stay in a mountain cabin(小屋). Because Lisa’s sister, Alana, was spending the week with her grandparents, Lisa’s mom and dad said I could come along instead.
When I told my parents about the amazing invitation, my mom said, “That sounds fun, but keep in mind that five days is a long time to spend with a friend.” I shook my head. “Lisa and I are just like fish and water. We’re happy sticking together. Plus, the cabin is near paths where we can try snowshoeing and other outdoor activities. ”
A few weeks later, Lisa and her parents and I arrived at an adorable cabin surrounded by snow-covered trees. “What a great place!” Lisa’s dad said.
“It’s looking a little cloudy,” said Lisa’s mom, glancing at the sky. “Let’s hope it means snow and not rain.”
As you might have guessed, the clouds did mean rain. Lots of rain. So we had to stay indoors, calling off the whole plan including snowshoeing, watching winter wildlife and other outdoor activities. “I guess we’ll have to find something else to do,” said Lisa.
We found a couple of board games(桌游) and a pack of cards and sat down. At first, it was fun, but we ended up playing those games for about 100 hours, stop ping only to eat and sleep!
“I can’t play anymore,” I said on the third day. “How about we just read by ourselves for a while?”
“I have a better idea,” said Lisa. “How about singing instead?”
“I think a little quiet time would be nice,” I said, opening a book I had brought.
“Oh, come on! Don’t be boring. I’ll pick the first song.” Lisa started singing “Somewhere over the Rainbow.”

【答案】 “Could you please leave me alone?” I shouted. My voice rang through the cabin, anđ Lisa stopped singing immediately. She looked at me with surprise and hurt in her eyes. I felt a pang of guilt, but I was desperate for some peace and quiet. “I m sorry, Lisa,” I said softly. “I just need some time to myself. We’ ve been together so much these past few days, I’m starting to feel a litte claustrophobic.” Lisa nodded slowly, understanding dawning on her face. “Okay,” she said quietly. “I’ll leave you alone.” She pickeđ up her book and retreated to the other side of the cabin. I felt a sense of relief wash over me as the silence settled in.
The fourth day was fine, and we sometimes played together and sometimes apart. We took turns reađing books by the fire or going for hikes in the nearby woods. I found that having some space from Lisa actually enhanced our friendship. We had more to talk about when we were together, anđ we appreciated each other’s presence more. By the time our trip was over, I realized that sometimes, having a little space from our closest friends can be just as important as spending time with them.

Mitzvah
Mitzvah is a word my grandmother often said to me since my childhood. It’s a Hebrew word that means “to do a good deed”. But according to my grandmother, it also had another meaning. This was the one she was always pointing out to me because she’d noticed how shy I was about letting people do things for me. “Linda, it’s a blessing to do a mitzvah for someone else, but sometimes it’s a blessing to let another person do something for you.” I never really understood what she meant until recently.
It was three months ago, and I'd just moved into an apartment for college in Brooklyn, New York, Several of my friends had offered to help me settle in after the moving men left, but I'd said I could manage. Letting them help did not fit my image of myself as a capable and independent woman of 21.
As December arrived, getting to school became more difficult. One day, snowflakes had been falling past my window for several hours when it came time to leave for class. I put on two sweaters, a coat, a wool hat and boots making for the bus stop. In this December storm it was a hard journey. As I tied around my neck the blue scarf that Grandma had knitted(编织) for me, I could almost hear her voice: “Why don't you see if you can find a lift?” A thousand reasons came into my mind: I don't know my neighbours; I feel funny asking for favours. Pride(自尊心) would not let me ask even though I came across three neighbours at the door of the apartment building. One of them was the woman living upstairs, and in her hand there was an obvious car key.
Result? An hour of waiting in the bitter cold before the bus finally arrived, followed by another half-hou journey. When I sneaked into the classroom, the class was almost over. If only I had taken the chance and asked for help! It would have been a 10-minute ride by car, Grandma would be shaking her head at my stubbornness(固执).

【答案】Paragraph 1:
On the day of my final exam, I again walked to the bus stop through heavy snow. For an hour, I stretched my neck, praying desperately that a bus would come. Then I gave up. The wind at my back pushed me toward home, and I prayed, “how can I get to school? What should I do?” As I pulled Grandma’s scarf more tightly around my neck, again I seemed to hear that whisper: Ask someone for a lift! It could be a mitzvah. That idea had never really made sense to me. And even if I wanted to ask someone for a good deed, which I did not, there wasn’t a soul on the street.
Paragraph 2:
As I pushed open the door of my apartment building, I found myself face to face with the woman from upstairs. She was going out with a set of keys in her hand. In that split second, desperation overcame pride. I blurted, “Could you possibly give me a lift?” I hurriedly explained, “I’ve been waiting for the bus for ages, and I don’t want to miss my final exam.” Her expression softened with understanding, “Of course, I’ll give you a lift.” Heaving a sigh of relief, I couldn’t help but marvel at how a simple act of asking for help had changed everything. It was at that moment that I finally understood what “Mitzvah” really meant.

Jonah pressed his hand into his dad’s old baseball glove as he looked out the window of his stepfather’s car. No one could imagine how much he missed his dad. He breathed in the glove’s warm, leathery smell. The car stopped outside the baseball field.
“Hey, buddy (伙计), have fun at practice. And don’t forget about your sister’s dancing performance tonight,” said Jonah’s stepfather, Steve, as Jonah climbed out. Zoe was not my sister, and you couldn’t tell me what to do, Jonah complained in his mind. Since Mom married Steve a few months ago, Jonah had a lot of mixed-up feelings. He could hardly concentrate. Even baseball 一what he always loved — felt different lately.
After practice, Jonah and David, his best friend, sat together and waited for their ride. Jonah expressed how he wished things hadn’t changed and that he could still be with his own dad, not a stepfather. David comforted Jonah it was no big deal. “I have a stepmother and stepbrother too,” David smiled, “They’re just Mom and Dennis now. Give it a chance.” Jonah let out a breath, still unsure about the performance tonight. Still unsure about everything!
Back at the apartment, Jonah found Zoe in her costume, but something was wrong. Her arms tight across her chest, her eyes were filled with tears. Wondering what was up, Jonah asked Mom, who explained Zoe was just too nervous to go on stage.
Huh! This should have been the best thing that could have happened — the possibility of not going to the performance. But somehow it wasn’t. Zoe had practiced so hard. She’d reminded Jonah at least a thousand times where she would be onstage.

【答案】范文
Having thought twice, Jonah went forward. “Zoe, I’m here. You can do this,” he said softly. He sat next to her and took her hands in his. He felt the trembling in her fingers and knew she was really scared. But he also felt something else — a sense of determination. “I know you’re nervous, but you’ve worked so hard for this. You’re going to be amazing,” he said, trying to sound as confident as he could. Zoe looked up at him, her eyes still filled with tears but also a spark of hope. “You really think so?” she asked. “Of course I do,” Jonah replied, giving her a reassuring smile. “Now, let’s go show them what you’ve got.” With that, Jonah helped Zoe stand up and they walked out the door, ready to face the stage together.

Ever since I was little, my favorite season was winter. I loved to play in the snow and enjoyed the hot chocolate. Unfortunately, winter never gave me the special gift of snow on my birthday. The snow disappeared before my birthday and started after it. The seed of receiving that special gift was deeply planted in my heart.
As I lived with my grandparents in my girlhood, I would always ask my grandmother why it didn’t snow on my birthday. She would laugh and tell me I asked too many questions, and my grandfather would always smile at me affectionately, sitting beside the stove. But one day, my grandmother promised that she would make it snow when I was enjoying life to the fullest. I thanked her and asked for snow on my next birthday, but my mind was occupied with confusion. “How can you make it snow?” My grandmother didn’t reply but shot me a determined look. It seemed that she had already hatched (策划) a plot.
But that year, before my birthday, my grandmother passed away. I was at an emotional loss, but angry because she had promised me to make it snow. The day of my sixth birthday, I woke up and ran to my window, hoping to see just one snowflake. Unfortunately, there was no snow. I cried and cried all day because my grandmother had let me down, but my grandfather said with certainty that my grandmother would keep her word.
Before my birthday every year, I would pray but it never came. By my sixteenth birthday, I had lost all hope of getting my snow, even though I still wished for it. During my party, I had the best time ever! I enjoyed the company of my friends and family, and I was truly happy.
I was outside with a friend when she asked me if I was having a good time. I told her I was enjoying my life to the fullest. Then I saw the white snow falling all around. I became like a little child on Christmas morning as I ran around screaming and laughing. I was so excited that my friend looked at me as if I were crazy, and laughed at me. She asked me if I had ever seen snow before, and I laughed and said that I had, but that this snow was very special to me.

【答案】
Paragraph 1: Curious about my reply, my friend asked, “Why was this snow so special?” I was still bathed in the ecstasy of seeing the snow, without even hearing my friend’s question, just exclaiming out aloud, “Snow! I see it!” It was when my friend tapped on my shoulder that I realized I lost control of myself and was immersed in this blissful world. I explained with my choking words to my friend that my grandmother who had died several years ago kept her word to make it snow when I lived my life to the fullest. Seeing that snow was like seeing my grandmother and her long-awaited gift. At that moment, a surge of nostalgia rushed into my mind and I couldn’t help bursting into tears. My friend, standing beside me, comforted me in her reassuring voice and suggested me going back home to share the delight with my grandfather.
Paragraph 2: Hearing my friend’s advice, I decided to head for my grandfather’s home. When I opened the door, what greeted me was my grandfather’s affectionate smile as usual, which deeply tugged at my soft heartstrings. Without thinking twice, I instantly threw my arms around him, poured out my sentiment of missing for my grandmother and shared the pleasure of seeing the snow. My grandfather stroked my head fondly and then withdrew an elaborately-packed gift from the drawer. Inside, nestled in white paper, was a crystal snowflake with a card that read, “Happy Birthday!” Confused, I asked my grandfather how this could be. He explained that it was my grandmother’s final wish to give it to me when I lived my life to the fullest. At that moment, surrounded by the warmth of family and the magic of the falling snow, I realized that while my grandmother may no longer be with us physically, her love and legacy lived on in our hearts, forever etched in the delicate dance of snowflakes.
