Born in1930, Yuan Longping had a passion for swimming at an early age. After graduation, he committed himself to agricultural research in Hunan, breeding the hybrid rice successfully in 1975. Not only did he make numerous contributions to solving the problem of world hunger, but also inspired more people to join him. In 2019, he was awarded to the Medal of the Republic for his outstanding contributions to the hybrid rice breeding. On 22 May 2021, Yuan passed away, and our whole country mourned(v.哀悼) the great loss of a brilliant scientist. The reason why I admire him is that his dedication to work and to people sets me an good example, which truly inspires me to become a person like him in the future.
