Greet the class. 2. Ask questions like the following and help them to answer. Questions : ( 1)What did you do yesterday? (2)Where did you go yesterday? (3)Who did you do the activity with? (4 ) How did you feel? Step 2 Work on la Ask students : Do you keep a diary? Do you think it is a good idea to keep a diary? Start with a brief discussion on whether keeping a diary is a good idea, Use the following points to guide the discussion. Encourage students to share their own opinions and experiences.Points : remember what happened; record thoughts and feelings ; improve writing skills ; write down new ideas. Step 3 Work on lb 1. Look at the passage in 1b, Ask students what kind of text it is. Help them to answer : a diary entry. 2. Ask : Whose diary entry is this? When did the writer write it? Help them to find the answers. 3. Ask students to read the diary entry carefully and then write a one-sentence summary of what he did on that day. 4. Ask students to compare their answers in pairs and discuss any differences. 5.Pick some answers to show in class 6. Explain the following language items : There were large tents with tomatoes , cucumbers and many other fruits and vegetables.I was very interested because I usually only see them in the supermarket.The work seemed easy , but it took time to get it right.The farmer taught us how to cut branches and leaves from tomato plants. I enjoyed working with my hands. Every grain comes from hard work.They certainly taste better when you work for them. Step 4 Work on lc 1. Read the flow chart in le and ask them to fill in the events from Sam's diary in the correct order.Once completed, students will exchange papers and check each other's work. 2.Check answers in class.
