These days teenagers are heavily influenced by the media (媒体). Many of them use the Internet for thousands of hours. That’s more time than they spend with teachers at school, and even more than the hours they spend watching TV and reading newspapers.
However, some studies show a serious issue in society: today’s teenagers are short of media literacy (素养). That’s to say, they have difficulty telling the right from wrong about the information. One study was done on middle school students. It showed that more than 80% of them couldn’t tell the difference between real news and advertisements that looked like news.
Professor Kevin John tried to help his students learn media literacy. He gave an example to show the importance of media literacy. In the example, two news stations report an awful snowstorm. One pays attention to the terrible road conditions. The other pays attention to kids playing in the snow. “News stations tell you their feelings. These depend on the opinions of the news reporter,” said John. “A person who has media literacy will know that each story is just about one part of the event at that time. There is more going on.”
Some people think schools are the best place to teach media literacy. Others believe everyone, from parents to reporters, should help teenagers learn it.
As for the best time to start learning media literacy, many people suggest the age of twelve. But some ideas can be taught even earlier. “It’s never too early to start learning media literacy,” John said.
根据短文内容选择最佳答案。

A. Teachers. B. Teenagers. C. The media’s influence.
32. What does the underlined word “issue” in Paragraph 2 probably mean?

33. Why did Professor John give the example?

C. To show how important media literacy is.
34. What can we learn from the last paragraph?
A. Children don’t need to learn media literacy.

“USA? Britain? Which country is better to study in?” We often hear such discussions. As China opens its door, it is a dream for many Chinese students to study abroad. They want to learn about the outside world.
It’s true that studying abroad can help students develop themselves. Their foreign language skills will be improved and it may be easier to find jobs.
But there are problems that should be considered. Language is the first. Students must spend a lot of time learning another language.
Students must also learn to live without parents’ care and deal with all kinds of things they haven’t had to do before, like looking after themselves. There are reports about Chinese students abroad running into an ocean of difficulties and giving up finally. When they have to take care of themselves, it is hard for students to study well.
Finally, studying abroad brings a heavy burden (负担) to the family. For most Chinese parents, the cost of studying abroad is very high. But is it worth it?
We know that there are many famous people who have achieved success through their hard work in China. Liu Xiang is a good example. Once an American teacher invited him there, but he refused. He kept training hard with his Chinese teacher. He surprised the world when he won a gold medal at the Athens Olympic Games. So when you wonder which country is better to study in, think again.

These days teenagers are heavily influenced by the media (媒体). Many of them use the Internet for thousands of hours. That’s more time than they spend with teachers at school and even more than the hours they spend watching TV and reading newspapers.
31. What is Paragraph 1 mainly about?

A Children don’t need to learn media literacy.

“USA?
