Chinese wig (假发) seller Deng Nan saw an 85% increase in sales on Black Friday in 2024,thanks to cross-border e-commerce (跨境电商), reported China Daily.
In China, wigs aren’t something people always need. But in foreign markets, they can be an important part of fashion.
Three years ago, Deng saw a growing need for wigs abroad and started selling them online. Now, his store sells about 40.000 wigs a month. Deng is one of many young Chinese entrepreneurs (创业者) using cross-border e-commerce sites, like Temu and Shein, to sell products made in China.
China’s cross-border e-commerce industry (行业) has grown very fast. In the first nine, months of 2024, it made 1.88 trillion yuan. This was an 11.5% increase compared to 2023,according to the General Administration of Customs (海关总署)。
A big advantage of Chinese cross-border e-commerce sites is that they connect makers directly with buyers using technology like artificial intelligence (AI technology). For example, the fast fashion online store Shein helps Chinese factories sell more products around the world. Meanwhile, the government also supports the industry by building storage (仓储) and delivery (送货) systems abroad and adding more products to the import (进口) list.
However, Chinese e-commerce sites are facing problems with new rules abroad. For example, the US said it would limit cheap, duty-free (免税的) goods from China: According to experts, Chinese e-commerce companies should learn local laws and change their supply chain to follow these rules.
31.Which is the main reason for Deng Nan’s success?
A.Festivals like Black Friday abroad. B.The wide market for wigs abroad.
C.China’s overproduction of wigs. D.The growth of China’s fashion industry.
32.How does the text show China’s cross-border e-commerce growth in 2024?
A.By using news reports. B.By interviewing some sellers.
C.By listing sales numbers. D.By comparing it with other industries.
33.What is the advantage of Chinese cross-border e-commerce sites?
A.Higher quality and more products. B.Faster delivery times in China.
C.Support from foreign governments. D.Direct connection between makers and buyers.
34.How can we describe China’s cross-border e-commerce industry?
A.It will continue to grow in the US. B.It is growing rapidly but faces challenges;
C.It is well prepared for new changes. D.It will fall because of the storage problem.
35.According to experts, how should Chinese e-commerce companies deal with new changes?
A.Add more products to the import list.
B.Increase production in Chinese factories.
C.Study local laws. and change supply chains in time.
D.Improve AI technology to connect makers and buyers.

Have you ever seen drones (无人机) in the sky? What can they be used for? Can they only be used for taking fantastic photos? Can a small group of drones make railways safe, and at the same time, help railway companies save money? That is the very likely future of applying today’s “eyes in the sky” technology to make sure that railways are safe for trains.
Drones have already been used to check power lines. They could do exactly the same thing to check railway lines and other important things such as the correct position of the railway and turning points. The more regularly they can be checked, the more railway safety, reliability (可靠性) and on-time performance will be improved. Costs would be cut and operations would be more efficient (有效的) across the board.
That includes huge savings in maintenance costs and better protection of railway workers’ safety. It is said that European railways alone spend around 20 billion euros a year on maintenance for sending maintenance workers, often at night, to check and repair the railway. That can be dangerous work which could be avoided with the help of drones.
By using the latest technologies, drones could also start providing higher-value services for railways, exploring mistakes in the railway before they cause any safety problems. To perform these tasks, drones don’t need to be flying overhead. Engineers are now working on a new idea. Very small drones with AI will travel ahead of the train and guide it without drivers. With their ability to see ahead, they could find any problem so that fast-moving trains would be able to react (作出反应) in time.
36.How does the writer introduce the first paragraph?
A.By asking questions. B.By listing numbers.C.By comparing facts. D.By telling a story.
37.Why can drones be used in railways?
A.Because it’s safer to use drones. B.Because it’s cheaper to use drones.
C.Because drones can do operations. D.Because drones can check power lines.
38.What does the underlined word “maintenance” in Paragraph 3 mean?
A.Workers safety. B.Railway safety. C.Buying drones. D.Checking and repairing.
39.What can drones in the future do?
A.Help make more money. B.Let trains run faster.
C.Make trains run by themselves. D.Provide early warnings.
40.What is the best title for the passage?
A.The Super Drones B.Drones’ Influence on Railways
C.Railways in the Future D.Drones in the Future

If you don’t use it, you lose it. At least, that’s how the old saying goes. It refers to the idea that something that does not get used often quickly falls into a state of decline (衰退). For example, a hobby that you haven’t done for a few years, like playing the piano. The next time you pick it up, maybe you’ve forgotten altogether! In order to avoid this, people take usual exercise to keep their skills well-practiced.
Well, what about the brain? As we age, our brains can naturally begin to decline. In some cases, this can lead to certain brain problems: such as dementia (痴呆). However, all is not lost because these days it’s easy to train your brain. Smartphones and apps provide programs that can test, keep and even improve our memories and a number of other brain skills. With a little practice every day, we can keep our brains active, right?
Well, no, actually. According to a report from the Global Council on Brain Health, even though many people think it is beneficial to play some online games that are designed to improve brain health, the evidence (证据) of the benefits is “weak to non-existent”. Playing a “brain game” might cause improvements in game performance, yet it hasn’t proven to a believable result in people’s daily cognitive (认知的) abilities.
Don’t lose heart, though. There are other ways to develop the brain. It suggests trying new activities which can make you think in new ways, let you connect with others socially and help you lead a healthy life. Among their suggestions are practicing Tai Chi, taking photography classes, learning new technologies, gardening, art projects or volunteering.
There’s more good news, too. James Goodwin, chief scientist at Age UK, has said that brain decline is not unavoidable. As long as the activities are “new to you and require your full focus”, they can provide benefits for brain health. So, hurry up, get out there and try something new. Maybe it’s time to try that hobby you’ve always wanted to do.
41.Why is playing the piano mentioned in paragraph 1?
A.To introduce the topic of brain decline. B.To explain how to keep physically healthy.
C.To show the importance of practice. D.To describe the meaning of an old saying.
42.According to the passage, how can the brain training apps help you?
A.It will improve our memory. B.It can make us smarter.
C.It can do little to train our brains. D.It can protect us from ageing.
43.How can we develop the brain according to the passage?
A.Using smart phone regularly. B.Trying some new activities.
C.Playing brain games online. D.Doing what you are good at.
44.What can we infer (推断) from the passage?
A.Playing brain games can improve people’s daily cognitive abilities.
B.Playing brain games has been proven to help the brain work better.
C.Repeating the skills you already know will be good for your brain.
D.James Goodwin believes we can do something about brain decline.
45.What does the passage mainly tell us?
A.How to keep brain healthy and active. B.How to live meaningfully at an old age.
C.Disadvantages of using smart phones. D.Advantages of trying something new.

Listen! What can you hear? Birds outside? A car going by? Maybe your favorite music? Thanks to your ears, you can hear it clearly.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that there are 360 million people in the world with hearing loss problems. At least half of all cases of hearing loss are avoidable if you take care of your ears.
Protecting yourself from loud noise is a key part of ear care. Nowadays, it is common for people to listen to music with headphones on while traveling to school or work. Remember to choose over-the-ear headphones. This type can keep background noise out and allow you to have the volume lower. In-the-ear headphones are less effective at keeping background noise out. Also, experts suggest a 60:60 rule: listen to your music at 60 percent of the maximum volume (最大音量) for no more than 60 minutes a day. Want to know if your earphones are at a safe volume? Ask people sitting near you if they can hear your music. If they can, it’s a sign that your hearing is being damaged (损伤). Turn the volume down until other people can no longer hear it.
Do you clean your ears with cotton buds or fingernails? Think again. These things can push earwax (耳垢) deeper into your ear, and hurt your ear canal (耳道). The ear is a self-cleaning organ (器官) and does not require active cleaning, according to the WHO. If the earwax makes you uncomfortable, you can ask a doctor to deal with it.
Take care of your ears when you are swimming. You can use earplugs (耳塞) to stop water getting into your ears. Dry your ears with a towel after swimming or having a bath. If you feel there is water inside your ear, shake your head a little bit to help get the water out.

A.It will continue to grow in the US. B.It is growing rapidly but faces challenges;

D

六、书面表达(满分25分)
66.例文
Dear Jim,
I’m extremely glad to hear from you! Knowing you’re interested in the prevalence of short videos among students, I’m writing to share my insights.
Short videos, usually lasting no more than a few minutes, are extremely concise. They are also fairly easy to produce. All you need is a smartphone to start recording. There are multiple positive aspects. They enable students to record and share their daily lives, from fun school events to personal hobbies. What’s more, educational short videos help spread knowledge in an engaging way. However, there’s a dark side. Many students get addicted to the allure of short videos. They waste large amounts of time scrolling through their feeds, ignoring their studies.
In my view, short videos are like a double-edged sword. If we use them with self-discipline, they can enrich our lives. But if we lose control, they may have a negative impact.
I hope you find my answer helpful.
Best regards,
Li Hua

Chinese wig (假发) seller Deng Nan saw an 85% increase in sales on Black Friday in 2024,thanks to cross-border e-commerce (跨境电商), reported China Daily.

故填is made。
58.句意:这种排列汉字的方式与中国传统的放置一双如意的方式相似。be similar to“与……相似”。故填to。

【答案】例文
Dear Jim,
I’m extremely glad to hear from you!
Best regards,
Li Hua
