Have you heard of the movie Nezha? It not only tells a funny story but also teaches us something important: the sense of subjectivity.
What exactly is the sense of subjectivity? Well, think of your real self as A, and what other people expect you to be as B. When you fully accept A and live your life being true to who you are, that's when you have a strong sense of subjectivity. However, if you feel ashamed (羞愧的) of A and try hard to be B, trying to hide your real nature, you’ll gradually lose this valuable sense.
In Nezha’s tale (故事), he was born a demon (恶魔). To gain acceptance (接受), he had to hide his true nature during an important test, and as a result, he became weak. This mirrors what often happens to us in real life. We constantly worry about what others think. For example, you might want to try out for a school play, but the fear of being criticized (批评) holds you back. Or you’re always second-guessing your actions and words when around others. These concerns wear us out.
Thankfully, Nezha’s parents loved and supported him unconditionally (无条件地) Because of this, Nezha could remain true to himself and even challenge unfair rules.
So, how can we follow Nezha's footsteps and regain this sense of subjectivity? First, we must firmly believe that we have the power to shape our own lives, just like Nezha’s famous line, “My life is up to me!”. Then, we should fully accept who we are, even our weaknesses. And don’t be afraid when others don't agree with us.
It’s not easy. Jiaozi, the movie director, had a passion for animation (动画) but listened to others and studied medicine first. Later, he followed his heart and made the great Nezha movie. We should always be true to ourselves.
21. What is the main idea of “sense of subjectivity” according to the article?
A. Trying to be perfect in others’ eyes
B. Always listening to others’ advice
C. Accepting and being true to yourself
22. Why did Nezha become weak during the test?
A. He followed his parents’ advice
B. He hid his real nature to gain acceptance
C. He failed to understand the test rules
23. Which of the following is a way to regain subjectivity?
A. Believing you control your own life
B. Changing yourself to fit in
C. Hiding your weaknesses from others
24. What does the director Jiaozi’s story teach us?
A. Follow others’ plans for success
B. Never give up on your dreams
C. It’s better to listen to parents
【答案】21. C 22. B 23. A 24. B

Huang Xuhua: A Hero of Nuclear Submarines
Huang Xuhua, an outstanding Chinese scientist, left us on February 6th, 2025. Known as the “Father of China’s Nuclear Submarines” (中国核潜艇之父), he devoted (投入) his life to the development of advanced (高等的) technology for his country. Born in 1926, he joined a secret team in 1958 to design China’s first nuclear submarine. At that time, the task seemed almost impossible because of difficulties like limited resources and foreign technology blockades (封锁).
For many years, Huang worked tirelessly. He and other scientists did a lot of research, often staying up late to solve problems. Their hard work finally succeeded in 1970 when China’s first nuclear submarine was launched (下水). This great achievement marked a historic moment for China’s defense capabilities.
To keep the project secret, they stopped contacting the outside world, even their families. Huang’s family knew nothing about his work for nearly 30 years. Although he missed many family events, he felt proud to serve his country. In 2020, he was honored with the Medal of the Republic, China’s highest honor for his extraordinary contributions (杰出贡献).

Have you heard of the movie Nezha? It not only tells a funny story but also teaches us something important: the sense of subjectivity

At the 2025 CCTV Spring Festival Gala (春晚),16 humanoid (类人的) robots wearing bright flower-patterned jackets danced the traditional yangge, making their creator, Wang Xingxing, famous overnight.
Wang, a 35-year-old from Ningbo, had an unusual school life. He found English very hard—his grades were often low. But he was excellent at physics. While classmates studied for exams, he spent hours taking apart old electronics. At 19, using cheap parts costing only 200 yuan, he built his first walking robot. This showed his special talent. At the important China Private Entrepreneurs Forum (私营企业家论坛) in February 2025, Wang—the youngest person there—sat with famous business leaders like Ren Zhengfei and Lei Jun. His company, now a top tech “dragon” in Hangzhou, leads the world in four-legged robots.
Even though he wasn’t good at all subjects, Wang never gave up on robots. His advice to young people: “Don’t let your weak points stop you. Keep trying!” His story shows you don’t need to be perfect in everything—just focus on what you love. As his robots succeed worldwide, they teach us: the future is built by brave people who keep trying new ideas.
