Yeah, I have. It's amazing how far it's come, but i'm a bit concerned. For example, many routine office tasks can already be automated by AI systems. I see your point, but jobs in AI development data analysis and ethical AI oversight of bombing, we should view IT as a shift rather than a complete . replacement maybe. But what about the ethical side? AI powered facial recognition has raised privacy issues. There are concerns about how our data is used without our full knowledge. That's true, but we can't stop progress. Instead, we need to establish strict regulations. For instance, governments can enforce laws on data protection and transparency in AI algorithms. AI can be a force for good, like in health care, where IT helps in diagnosing diseases faster and more accurately. exactly. I learned IT during a flooding experience that left a lasting mark on my life. IT was an ordinary day in late summer when clouds began together in the sky. Initially, I was amazed by the darkness of the heavens. After all, summer storms were not uncommon in our region. By the afternoon, however, the light rain began, and then IT evolved into a downpour, streets quickly filled with water rising to levels I had never seen in my twelve years. The local weather station warned a flash flooding as the heavy rain overwhelmed drainage systems. My family gathered essential documents, closed food and water in case we needed to evacuate. As night fell, the rain showed no signs of stopping. I lay awake worrying about friends and neighbors. In the early morning, a neighbour knocked urgently, telling us to evacuate immediately. The street has become rushing current. We reached the nearby community center, which served as a shelter there. I saw how we were all united by loss and fear. Strangers became friends, sharing stories and comforting each other. Volunteers from the city came with food, supplies and hope. I was amazed by the resilience of the human spirit and willingness to help those in need. Nature, with all its beauty, holds within IT the potential for destruction. Rather, it’s about striving for perfection.”、第六段“And the idea that my body is still a work in progress encourages me. If anything, ballet is forcing me to rethink my relationship with my body. As for the imperfections? They’re part of being alive.”、第七段“As I stood in my living room, balancing shakily and dancing for nobody but myself, I felt every inch a ballerina.” 根据第二段“Quantum computers aren’t yet fully practical because they make too many errors. In fact, if qubits – key components of this type of computer – accidentally heat up and become too energetic, they can end up in an erroneous state before the calculation even begins.(量子计算机目前仍未达到完全实用阶段,其瓶颈 在于计算过程中的高错误率。 根据第三段“The researchers built two qubits and one qutrit, which can store more complex 高三英语试题分析 第 3 页 共 8 页 information than a qubit, from tiny superconducting circuits. The qutrit and one of the qubits formed a fridge for the second target qubit, which could eventually be used for computation.(研究团队基于微型超导电路,成功制备了两个 量子比特和一个量子三元(qutrit,其信息存储能力优于量子比特)。 根据第五段后文“The new experiment opens a path for many similar projects that have been proposed but never tested, such as using qubits to build autonomous quantum engines. The researchers are already looking into whether they could build on their experiment.(这项新实验为众多已提出但尚未验证的类似项目开辟了 道路,例如利用量子比特构建自主量子引擎的设想。 根据第一段“A tiny cooling device can automatically reset malfunctioning components of a quantum computer.(研究人员开发出一种微型冷却设备,可自主修复量子计算机中的故障组件。)” 根据第一段“So much so that the Global Wellness Summit identifies teen wellness as a trend for 2025 with the industry focusing on teenagers’ emotional intelligence, resilience, and how to survive in a digital world through resorts, retreats, and mental wellness apps.”、第二段“McKinsey reports that Gen Z outspends older consumers on mindfulness-related wellness products such as meditation classes, mindfulness apps, and therapy sessions, even seeking preventive solutions to ageing-related health issues.” 根据第三段“Parents have a role too. An intensive parenting often leaves children without examples of parents socialising or pursuing passions.” 根据第二段“Rina Raphael, author of The Gospel of Wellness, tells me wellness — physical and mental health — has replaced the once-dominant fashion and beauty industries.”、第五段“As Raphael points out, the problem with wellness is “it’s very much tied to productivity, aesthetics and consumerism. It adds a pressure that you 高三英语试题分析 第 4 页 共 8 页 have to be working on yourself.”” 根据第四段“But is the wellness industry responding to — or contributing to — the pressures young people face?”、“And those baby massage classes dressed up as a wellbeing treatment to improve the infants’ mood and physical health struck me as ridiculous. What’s a baby got to worry about?”、第五段“But I can’t see it ending. After all, as Ronald Purser, author of McMindfulness, told me: “You can never be too well, that’s why it’s a massive growth industry”.” take out取出、去掉、邀请(外出);make out 辨认、理解;put out扑灭、 出版、伸出。 【参考答案】into/and/with 63. Dear Freshmen, I’m Li Hua, and welcome to our school where you can join diverse clubs. I turned my face away, fearing he would tease me. Unexpectedly, he gently picked my bike up and gestured me over, “Get on it.” His determined look smoothed away my doubts. As he gripped the back seat, I got on the bike, took a deep breath and started to pedal, holding tightly onto the handlebars. During the whole process, we didn’t talk much. He simply offered a few necessary instructions when needed. But never once did he shout at me, nor did he let me fall. His patient teaching proved efficient, and I gradually got the hang of riding. An hour later, I was showing off my riding skill to my mom. She was amazed to see me riding steadily around the yard. While sharing my learning experience with her in excitement, I noticed my brother standing at a distance, smiling at me. I cast him a grateful look and he nodded and then walked back into the house. From that day on, the sad pattern between us began to change. There were occasional conversations between us, filled with less embarrassment but increasing concern. I could feel a different kind of brotherly relationship slowly developing between us. I would always treasure that day as my favorite memory, the moment when I felt the best. Text 1 M:In return for your considerate care during my trip in Britain,I will serve as a guide if you pay a visit to China. W:That's wonderful!I once travelled alone in France and was really touched by the locals'help.I'm glad to pay it forward. Text 2 W:Jason took the first position in his group of ten.I can't believe it. M:But if you had seen how hard he had been trained, you wouldn't have said so. Text 3 W:City Library, how may I assist you? M:Hi,I returned a book yesterday, but my account shows it's still checked out.My account number is 213892. W:Let me check...Ah,it was scanned incorrectly.I'll fix it now. M:Thanks! Text 4 W:Have you seen the film Ne Zha 2? M:No.But I heard the film broke the record for the highest single-day gross of a Chinese animated film. W:Yeah, films that celebrate traditional Chinese culture have received increased attention. Text 5 M:Hey,can I get a wake-up call at 5:00 a.m.and room service at 6:30 a.m.?I just need an Italian espresso. Also, book a cab to the airport at 8:00 a.m.My flight is at 11:00 a.m. W:Of course, sir.I'll handle your request right away. Text6(第6题为主旨大意题) W:Hey,where are you right now?I'm already in the Rosy Restaurant. M:I'm here, too. But I didn't see you anywhere.7By the way,you said we'd meet at the first floor. W:7Yeah,I'm right here.Oh,there might be some misunderstanding. You're from the UK, while I come from the US. M:What do you mean? What does it have to do with our present situation? W:7In the UK,you call the floor at street level the "ground floor,"while in the US,it's called the "first floor."Stay where you're.I'm coming to you. Text 7 M:Hey Lily,8throw your stuff in the back and ride up front with me. W:OK,Brendan.8Thank you for giving me a ride home.I did not want to call my parents because they were at Mimi's Cafe for my aunt's birthday. M:Mimi's Cafe? That place has the best burgers in town!Do you have any plans set up for the upcoming vacation? W:9Have you ever tried snowboarding?I've seen people doing all those amazing tricks in the Olympics. What's it like? M:It's an absolute blast! The first time I stood on a snowboard,I was a bit unsteady. But once you get the hang of it,gliding down the snow-covered slopes feels like flying. W:Is it hard to learn?I'm worried about falling a lot. M:Well, there will be some falls at the start. But that's part of the fun.You just need to keep practicing.1It's all about balance and controlling your body movements. W:Sounds exciting.Maybe I should give it a try this winter. Text8(第11题为推理判断题) W:12Mr.Smith,have you noticed how much more engaged students are when we use an all- English classroom approach? M:Absolutely!I think it really helps them immerse themselves in the language.12When we speak only English, students are forced to think and respond in English, which improves their fluency and confidence. What do you think is the biggest benefit you've seen? W:I'd say it's their listening skills. They have to pay close attention to understand what's being said, and it's great for their comprehension.Plus,it encourages them to use the language more naturally. M:Well,it has its benefits, but there are some real challenges.13 For one,it can be really tough for lower-level students. They might feel frustrated and left out. W:Yeah,I've noticed that. And banning their native language might actually slow down learning. We need more training and support to handle this kind of classroom. Text 9 M:Hey,have you been following the latest news about Al?It's everywhere these days. W:Yeah,I have. It's amazing how far it's come,14but I'm a bit concerned. For example, many routine office tasks can already be automated by Al systems. M:I see your point,15but jobs in AI development, data analysis, and ethical Al oversight are booming. We should view it as a shift rather than a complete replacement. W:16Maybe,but what about the ethical side?AI-powered facial recognition has raised privacy issues. There are concerns about how our data is used without our full knowledge. M:That's true, but we can't stop progress.17Instead,we need to establish strict regulations. For instance, governments can enforce laws on data protection and transparency in Al algorithms.AI can be a force for good, like in healthcare, where it helps in diagnosing diseases faster and more accurately. W:Exactly! It's all about balance and ensuring that AI serves humanity, not the other way around. Text 10 W:Nature, with all its beauty, holds within it the potential for destruction.I learned it during a flooding experience that left a lasting mark on my life. 18It was an ordinary day in late summer when clouds began to gather in the sky.Initially, I was amazed by the darkening of the heavens;after all, summer storms were not uncommon in our region.By the afternoon, however, the light rain began, and then it evolved into a downpour.Streets quickly filled with water, rising to levels I had never seen in my twelve years. 19The local weather station warned of flash flooding as the heavy rain overwhelmed drainage systems. My family gathered essentials-documents,clothes,food,and water-in case we needed to evacuate. As night fell, the rain showed no signs of stopping.I lay awake, worrying about friends and neighbors. In the early morning,a neighbor knocked urgently, telling us to evacuate immediately. The streets had become rushing currents.20 We reached the nearby community center, which served as a shelter. There,I saw how we were all united by loss and fear.Strangers became friends, sharing stories and comforting each other.Volunteers from the city came with food, supplies, and hope.I was amazed by the resilience of the human spirit and the willingness to help those in need. 1. B By my early 40s, I had exhausted all the hobbies supposed to make me feel better about entering middle age. At the height of my desperation, I decided to sign up for a ballet class. “But you’re not very flexible,” my husband gently reminded me. He wasn’t wrong. I nearly injured myself when trying to stretch my leg. Also, my track record for committing to physical activity wasn’t great. But I was determined to give it a try. I needed confirmation that my body was capable of movement and grace. Before leaving the house for my first ballet class for adults, I hadn’t expected any of it to stick. But this time, the exact same things that had made me flee the studio as a 10-year-old now brought a certain joy. When I expressed disappointment with my lack of grace in practising simple acts, my teacher reminded me ballet isn’t about perfection. Rather, it’s about striving for perfection. As a writer arguing sentences all day hoping they will approach the beautiful, perfect construct in her mind, this felt like the best, most fierce writing advice. Slowly, I felt more comfortable with the body I saw staring back at me in the mirror. And the idea that my body is still a work in progress encourages me. If anything, ballet is forcing me to rethink my relationship with my body. As for the imperfections? They’re part of being alive. Eight years into my ballet classes, I’m a lifelong advanced beginner. Recently, my teacher taught us a 高三英语试题 第 4 页 共 8 页 beginner-appropriate version of the Rose Adagio from Sleeping Beauty. As I stood in my living room, balancing shakily and dancing for nobody but myself, I felt every inch a ballerina. 24. Why did the author learn ballet in her middle age? A. To provide support to her ballet instructor. B. To cultivate inspiration for her writing career. C. To participate in a personally fulfilling activity. D. To demonstrate her continuing physical capabilities. 25. How did the author probably feel about ballet as a child? A. Terrified. B. Interested. C. Relieved. D. Determined. 26. What kind of person is the author? A. Curious and mild. B. Strict yet indecisive. C. Negative yet honest. D. Determined and open-minded. 27. What does ballet teach the author? A. Enjoy the journey of becoming a better self. B. It’s acceptable to forgive herself for not trying. C. Physical flexibility comes first for the middle-aged. D. One shouldn’t stop striving for personal achievements. C A tiny cooling device can automatically reset faulty components of a quantum computer. Its performance suggests that controlling heat could also enable other autonomous quantum devices. Quantum computers aren’t yet fully practical because they make too many errors. In fact, if qubits (量子比特) – key components of this type of computer – accidentally heat up and become too energetic, they can end up in an incorrect state before the calculation even begins. One way to reset the qubits to their correct states is to cool them. Simone Gasparinetti at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden and his colleagues have assigned this task to an autonomous quantum “refrigerator” for the first time. The researchers built two qubits and one qutrit (量 子三元), which can store more complex information than a qubit, from tiny superconducting circuits. The qutrit and one of the qubits formed a fridge for the second target qubit, which could eventually be used for computation. The researchers carefully engineered the interactions between the three components to ensure that when the target qubit had too much energy, which caused errors, heat automatically flowed out of it and into the two other elements. This lowered the target qubit’s temperature and reset it. Because this process was autonomous, the qubit-and-qutrit fridge could correct errors without any outside control. Without any significant quantum computer redesign or introduction of new wires, the qubit’s starting state was correct 99.97 per cent of the time. In contrast, other reset methods typically only manage 99.8 per cent. Michał Horodecki at the University of Gdańsk, Poland, says one of the most urgent problems for quantum computers built with superconducting circuits is making sure the machines don’t heat up and so make errors. “The fact that this machine is autonomous, so it does not require any external control, should make it efficient and versatile,” says Nicolas Brunner at the University of Geneva in Switzerland. The new experiment opens a path for many similar projects that have been proposed but never tested, such as using qubits to build autonomous quantum engines. The researchers are already looking into whether they could build on their experiment. For example, they might create an autonomous quantum clock or design a quantum computer with other functions automatically driven by temperature differences. 28. What is the major problem with quantum computers? A. They lose accuracy as their temperatures rise. B. They exhibit errors even under minimal workloads. C. They rely on human intervention during operation. D. They require significant energy to maintain stability. 29. What is the design of Simone Gasparinetti’s team? A. Building external systems to cool qubits. B. Adding new wires to reset qubits manually. C. Absorbing heat autonomously via qutrit-qubit. D. Simplifying interactions between components. 30. What does the underlined “versatile” in paragraph 5 probably mean? A. Cost-effective. B. Multi-functional. C. User-friendly. D. Ground-breaking. 31. What is the best title for this passage? A. A super quantum fridge B. Future for quantum engines C. Overheating of quantum devices D. Quantum computer corrects itself D Do teenagers need to relax? Increasingly not just parents are seeking a break from work and family pressures but adolescents too, coping with “intense schooling and sports programmes”. So much so that the Global Wellness Summit identifies teen wellness as a trend for 2025 with the industry focusing on teenagers’ emotional intelligence, resilience, and how to survive in a digital world through resorts, retreats, and mental wellness apps. Rina Raphael, author of The Gospel of Wellness, tells me wellness — physical and mental health — has replaced the once-dominant fashion and beauty industries. McKinsey reports that Gen Z outspends older consumers on mindfulness-related wellness products such as meditation classes, mindfulness apps, and therapy sessions, even seeking preventive solutions to ageing-related health issues. One of the problems the wellness sector aims to address is mental health. Blame for the mental health crisis has been laid on smartphones. But apps also offer a solution. Many, like Chill Panda and HappiMe are on the UK’s CAMHS (child and adolescent mental health services) website and in demand. A study in The Lancet concluded bans or restrictions at school don’t lead to “better mental wellbeing in adolescents.” Parents have a role too. An intensive parenting often leaves children without examples of parents socialising or pursuing passions. There’s nothing bad about forming healthy habits. But is the wellness industry responding to — or contributing to — the pressures young people face? Think about the new toy package Mattel released five years ago: Wellness Barbie — a more glowing and relaxed version of Barbie and a product in training children to become consumers of wellness. And those baby massage classes dressed up as a wellbeing treatment to improve the infants’ mood and physical health struck me as ridiculous. What’s a baby got to worry about? The idea that experiences bought by parents and offered by the wellness industry solve adolescent anxiety seems unpromising at best. As Raphael points out, the problem with wellness is “it’s very much tied to productivity, aesthetics (美学) and consumerism. It adds a pressure that you have to be working on yourself.” But I can’t see it ending. After all, as Ronald Purser, author of McMindfulness, told me: “You can never be too well; that’s why it’s a massive growth industry”. 32. What could be counted as a wellness activity? A. Aiming for top grades nonstop. B. Practicing mindfulness using an app. C. Checking social media for attention. D. Skipping meals to manage body shape. 33. What is a possible reason for teen mental health issues? A. A demand for services. B. A passion for sports. C. A ban on mental health. D. A lack of role models. 34. What would Rina Raphael agree with most? A. The fashion and beauty industries matter more to Gen Z. B. Teenagers are pressured to consume wellness products. C. Wellness Barbie assists children’s adaptation. D. Baby massage classes are not effective as expected. 35. What’s author’s attitude towards the wellness industry? A. Hopeful. B. Calm. C. Critical. D. Pessimistic. When the person you need to set boundaries with is yourself Boundaries are the limits that bind what we will allow for ourselves. 36 ; however, boundaries are equally important to ourselves. These are some areas where boundaries with ourselves count. Without boundaries, anxiety can affect every aspect of our lives, making it difficult to focus on anything else when a worry presents itself. 37 .When worries come up outside that time, you can reinforce this boundary by reminding yourself of the time you’ve put aside to work on this and taking a quick note to address it then. 38 , and breaking it can be equally difficult. People tend to talk to themselves much more harshly than they would anyone else. Setting boundaries regarding self-talk can start by acknowledging when you say something unkind to yourself and replacing it with something more reasonable. Self-care means a million things to a million people. It’s much more than getting your nails done or having a sweet coffee. It includes acknowledging and meeting anything within a scope of needs we have. Aspects of self-care can include time alone, connection, physical self-care, emotional expression, and more. 39 .Take note of what you need to be at your best, and schedule it. Clarifying and living by our values is a major component of setting boundaries with ourselves. How well we match our values in our actions is a measure of self-respect. Consider what matters to you. This can give you a sense of your priorities. When something crosses your moral compass, or would otherwise compromise your self-respect, notice that and take action. 40 . A. It is so easy to fall into a pattern of critical self-talk B. So we have to handle anxiety seriously in daily life C. Worries can distract you from concentrating on what you do D. We usually talk about boundaries about relationships with others E. Dedicating a certain time to planning is important for peace of mind F. Even tasks such as regular visits with a dentist fall under the heading of self-care G. She was asking for the moment in which “you felt the best, like you had the world in the palm of your hand.” Some described grand awards; others described winning a tournament. But I felt the best when I first learned how to ride my bike at the age of seven. Actually, when I was born, my brother was a junior student at school, so there seemed to be a generation gap between us. In his eyes, maybe I was too little to understand him or too young to share his sadness or happiness. However, I hero-worshipped him. I was so curious about his world that I couldn’t wait to inquire about his school life the moment he came back home. “I am so occupied with my assignment. Can’t you wait...?” he often responded like that. Many times, I even wanted to literally follow my brother, sobbing every time I was prevented from hanging around with him. “I was an annoyance to him.” I murmured sadly. Later, I stopped trying to impress him and learned to be totally indifferent. Perhaps the silent treatment would get more attention. I was wrong. We soon fell into a sad pattern—I avoided him, he ignored me, and deep inside, it hurt. Indifferent or hostile, he was only a brother in name. I believed we would forever be apart, two housemates without conversation, two strangers without warmth. I gradually assumed that my big brother didn’t show any concern for me at all. My little heart got broken. But the tide was turning last year. I got a bright-red bike as a birthday gift, but mom was too busy with endless work and had no time to teach me. Of course, even though I was eager to learn, I was reluctant to beg my big brother to teach me, so I decided to teach myself to ride, a little bit each day, but in vain. On that fateful day, it was no different. I was coming to the end of my daily one-hour torture, and I was so frustrated that I threw my bike aside and began to cry. I guess that was what caused my brother to come outside.
