Here is another lady who successfully turns her hobby into her career. Jane Goodall a scientist/biologist. She devoted herself to the research, education and protection of wild animals. When she was in her twenties, she went to the primeval forests in Africa. In order to observe chimpanzees, she spent thirty-eight years in the wild. She travels around the world, calling on people to protect wild animals and the earth's environment. Jane Goodall (珍·古道尔) Jane Goodall (珍·古道尔) She was born on April 3, 1934, in London, England. She is best known for her long-term research on wild chimpanzees. She discovered many unknown facts about chimpanzees. Goodall started a youth-activism programme in 1991. It’s called Roots & Shoots. This is the story of how she started her career. Jane was not very interested in animals when she was a child. Then, one day, her father gave her a toy chimpanzee. She liked it very much. From that day on, she became really interested in animals. When she was a 16-year-old schoolgirl, Jane dreamt of a career studying wild animals in Africa. Jane’s mother said, “If you really want something, work hard and never give up. Then you’ll find a way.” Jane’s mother was right. When she was 26, Jane travelled from Britain to the mountains of East Africa.
