Science Shapes Our Life
In the last few decades, science has developed at high speed, and played an important role in our daily lives. It is the development of science that allows us to understand ourselves and the world around us better, create many inventions that help us live better.
Recently, my family decided to embrace the future of transportation by purchasing a new energy vehicle. I find the electric car seems to be faster and smoother compared with a petrol car. Furthermore, new energy vehicles use electric energy as a power source. Electricity can be obtained through a variety of ways, including renewable energy such as solar and wind energy, so the popularity of electric vehicles has a positive impact on the environment.
Looking ahead, the future of science appears promising, with endless possibilities waiting to be explored and discovered. Advances in fields such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and space exploration hold the potential to revolutionize the way we live, work, and interact with the world around us.

One logo (商标) isn’t too expensive to print because it doesn’t need much ink, but printing a large number of logos could cost a lot. In order to save money and energy, an American design company made small changes to some famous brands, such as Nike, McDonald’s and Starbucks, to cut the cost. The design company remained the main body of these logos, but left an empty space inside. The logos look almost the same, but in this way, the famous brands could save 39 percent of the ink during the printing. Let’s hope other companies will take this advice. The way will save them money and use less energy, too.

When people think about movies, they often talk about what they see. However, what they hear also plays an important role. The voices behind the characters help to bring them to life. Lyu Yanting, 37, the voice actor of little Nezha in Ne Zha 2, uses her voice to bring a great character who fights against fate (命运) to life.
“What we do is called dubbing, which is very similar to acting. We are using our voices to act.” said Lyu. Voice actors will get the script (剧本) before they start. After reading it, they will have their own understanding of the story and character. During the dubbing process, she needs to show the character’s feelings. Also, she has to match her voice perfectly with the animation’s scenes (场景). “The director plays an important role. He will explain the story and scenes on set. With his guidance (指导) we work together to give our best performance.”
Lyu believes it is very important to keep improving as a voice actor. “We need to improve our understanding, experience more in life and develop different views. With these things and our professional skills, we can successfully act out different roles.”
Lyu is thankful for being part of this great project. She could show everything she had learned in the past. But she also believes that getting such an opportunity needed some luck. It is always hard to find roles that completely suit her. “You can’t depend on just one perfect role throughout your whole career (职业生涯),” she added. “As a voice actor, you need to be able to adapt (适应) to many different roles.”
For young people who want to enter the voice acting industry, Lyu offered her advice: “If you truly love it, give it your all. You may not know what the future holds, but you can make the most of the present. Borrowing a line from Ne Zha 2,” she said, “Who you are is only for you to decide.”

Born in 1980 in Sichuan Province, Jiaozi had a strong passion for cartoons since he was young. As a child, he often spent hours drawing his favorite cartoon characters. On March 19, 2025, a train carrying 90 containers (集装箱) left Beijing Fangshan, starting a historic 5,000-kilometer journey to Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This first-ever Beijing-Central Asia freight train (货运班列) transported car parts, medical products, and machines, which are worth $2.2 million. It amazed the world by completing the trip in just 14 days—30% faster than traditional sea shipping.
The success of this project comes from the creative teamwork of two Chinese transport companies. Engineer Li Wei and his team worked through bad weather to make sure that the train was safe. “Working with different countries’ rules was like solving a difficult international puzzle,” Li said. Their hard work paid off, with the train keeping a perfect on-time record since its start.
This rail has created important business and social advantages. Local factories report a 35% increase in overseas orders to Central Asia since the service started. The manager from a medical company in Beijing said, “The train has cut our transport time greatly, helping us compete better in new markets.” What’s more, a strong transportation network has been formed, which helped build closer relationships between the areas. And this has made Beijing an important trade center between Asia and Europe.
Besides its business value, the train expresses China’s wish of international communication under the Belt and Road This project is not just about trade; it is also about building friendships and understanding between countries. By connecting China with Central Asia, the train helps people share ideas, cultures, and chances. For example, Central Asian students can now study in China more easily, and Chinese businesses can learn about new markets. This kind of cooperation shows how working together can create a better future for everyone.
As the train continues its journey, it carries not only goods but also the promise of stronger relationships and shared success. With every mile it travels, the train will bring us closer to a future of teamwork and growth, inspiring hope for a better world.
36.How long did the Beijing-Central Asia trip take by sea shipping?
A.10 days. B.14 days. C.20 days. D.30 days.

Now pollution problems are hot topics. We know many things have led to the problems. Tons of plastic bottles, plastic straws(吸管)and metal cans are produced. These things are difficult to clear up. 41 However, more and more people have realized this problem and chosen to “green”. Both the customers and the companies are changing in some ways.
On the one hand, customers hope that the products they buy should be safe for the environment. 42 will this shower cream be bad for the environment? Can this metal box be reused? Can it only be used once? A recent study showed that two out of five adults now consider the environmental safety of a product before they buy it.
43 Only by doing this can the companies make sure that they are “green” and friendly to the environment. A few years ago, it was impossible to find green products in supermarkets, but now there are hundreds. 44 Some companies also made some ads which are good for the environment. The care for a safer and cleaner environment is making companies rethink how they do business.
In a word, people will no longer accept the old attitude to “Buy it, use it, throw it away, and forget it.” 45 I believe we will have a really greener future.
A.Before they buy a product, they ask questions about the environment.
B.Luckily, a number of students have taken action to fight against pollution.
C.They remain on the earth for over 100 years since they can’t be broken down easily.
D.And more businesses and customers play a part in protecting the environment.

Cambridge University is looking for someone to study the method of keeping chocolates in hot weather. It is a sweet job for a sweet tooth. However, the person needs to be good at maths. ______________

______________

Jiaozi: The Dreamer Behind Ne Zha’s Magic

Born in 1980 in Sichuan Province, Jiaozi had a strong passion for cartoons since he was young. As a child, he often spent hours drawing his favorite cartoon characters. This early interest later led him to study animation (动画) at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. During his college years, he made his first animated short film, The Big Fish & Begonia, which won several awards and caught people’s attention.
But Jiaozi’s path to Ne Zha was tough. For five years, he faced many challenges, including limited funding and a lack of experienced animators. But he didn’t give up.

For more than a month, the world has been excited about a new AI model, DeepSeek-R1. It 66 (develop) by DeepSeek, a Chinese business in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.
The new AI was released on Jan 20. In just one week, it 67 (beat) Open AI’s ChatGPT and became the top free application (应用) in Apple’s App Store, reported Xinhua.
68 (it) developer said that DeepSeek-R1 is as good at difficult tasks as other big models but needs less computing power (算力). It is also the 69 (cheap) of its kind and it took only about 5.57 70 (million) US dollars to develop. That is why less than the hundreds of millions or even billions that US businesses have had to spend on 71 (build) similar AI models, Marc Andreessen, a technology expert in the US, told Xinhua.
DeepSeek-R1’s success 72 (large) came from its special training method. Traditionally, AI is trained in two ways. One is Chain-of-Thought (思维链), where AI learns 73 (break) problems into smaller, simpler steps. The other is Supervised Fine-Tuning (监督微调), which works by 74 (show) AI lots of practice problems along with the right answers for it to find a pattern. So far DeepSeek-R1 75 (grow) to be a reasoning model, which is a new type of AI, noted Microsoft engineer Vinayak Hegde. Regular (常规的) AI models, like GPT-4o, usually just give direct answers. But reasoning models are trained to both think and show the process.

故填was developed。
故填Its。
根据“It is also the…of its kind and it took only about 5.57…US dollars to develop.”,结合所给词可知,此处指的是它也是同类产品中最便宜的,所以此处应该把形容词cheap变成cheapest,意为“最便宜的”符合语境。故填cheapest。
故填to break。
故填has grown。

例文
