根据Hollin Farms Delaplane, VA中“Hours are 9:00 am-4:00 pm from Wednesday to Sunday.(营业时间为周三至周日上午9点至下午4点。)” 根据Great Country Farms Bluemont, VA中“The weekends of May 20-21 and May 27-28 are the yearly Strawberry Jubilee with live music, pie-eating competitions, tasty food, and more.(5月20日至21日和5月27日至28日的周末是一年一度的Strawberry Jubilee,有现场音乐,吃派比赛,美味的食物等等。)” 故选A。 根据Waters Orchard (果园) Gaithersburg, MD中“Pick-your-own (PYO) pricing is by the peck (配克) — 15/halfpeck,15/halfpeck,15/halfpeck,22/peck, and an entry fee for two is included. It’s $5/guest after that.(自选价格按配克出售——15美元/半配克,22美元/配克,包括两人的入场费。之后是每位客人5美元。)”可知,一个三口之家买两配克苹果要花22+22+5=49美元。故选D。 B I was never addicted to skydiving, like many jumpers are, but I definitely enjoyed it. I made my first skydive when I was barely 19 years old. I had been selected to attend the US Air Force Academy’s Freefall school. I was one of a select few who got to attend the course. It wasn’t intended to make us operational paratroopers (作战伞兵), but more so to teach us about accomplishing missions in high-stress situations. And it did exactly that, as we found this training program was the only one in the country that allowed jumpers to perform freefall skydives and pull their own ripcords (开伞索) without a trained instructor jumping alongside them. When I returned to Columbus, Ohio for my second year of college, I wore my basic parachutist badge on purpose because at that time, few students could get it. I looked up the Ohio State Skydiving Club. About a month later, I made my first private skydive and the rest was history. I jumped more and more, only paying for the jumps and necessary training when I had the funds to do it. Eventually, I made 10 skydives, and then it was 20, and I found that I was making jumps at different drop zones. I even bought my own parachute system. I kept jumping on various weekends during my senior year. The last jump I made, however, was in the fall of 2006. I was told that I had a disease which prevented me from skydiving. My skydiving career ended with 55 jumps, with more than 40 minutes of freefall time. I met great people along the way and did some pretty crazy jumps. I’ll never forget meeting Adam Abelow, head of the skydiving club, who gave me a ride to get my first civilian jump, and Jen White, who coached me on many of my jumps. I’ll never forget getting my license and the time my grandparents came to watch me jump. 4. What does the underlined word “that” in paragraph 1 refer to? A. Training some jumpers for the US Air Force. B. Selecting brave teenagers to attend the course. C. Making trainees excellent operational paratroopers. D. Educating participants to achieve goals under pressure. 5. Why did the author wear his basic parachutist badge after he returned to college? A. It was what he usually did during the course. B. He intended to show off his achievement. C. It was a must for skydiving club members. D. He wanted to inspire other students. 6. What is the author’s purpose in writing the last paragraph? A. To show his regret. B. To sum up his honors. C. To introduce a new topic D. To express his thankfulness. 7. Which word can best describe the author? A. Intelligent. B. Organized. C. Adventurous. D. Cautious. D 5. B 6. D 7. 根据第一段“It wasn’t intended to make us operational paratroopers (作战伞兵), but more so to teach us about accomplishing missions in high-stress situations. And it did exactly that, as we found this training program was the only one in the country that allowed jumpers to perform freefall skydives and pull their own ripcords (开伞索) without a trained instructor jumping alongside them.(这个课程并非旨在把我们培养成作战伞兵,而是更多地教会我们如何在高压情况下完成任务。事实证明,它确实做到了这一点,因为我们发现这个培训项目是全国唯一一个允许跳伞者在没有受过专业训练的教练陪同的情况下进行自由落体跳伞并自己拉开开伞索的项目。)”可知,that指代的是前面所说的“teach us about accomplishing missions in high-stress situations(教会我们如何在高压力情况下完成任务)”,即D选项“Educating participants to achieve goals under pressure.(教育参与者在压力下实现目标)”,故选D。 根据第二段“When I returned to Columbus, Ohio for my second year of college, I wore my basic parachutist badge on purpose because at that time, few students could get it.(当我回到俄亥俄州哥伦布市读大二时,我故意佩戴了初级跳伞员徽章,因为当时很少有学生能获得它。)”和第一段“I was one of a select few who got to attend the course.(我是被选去参加该课程的少数人之一。)” 根据最后一段“I met great people along the way and did some pretty crazy jumps. I’ll never forget meeting Adam Abelow, head of the skydiving club, who gave me a ride to get my first civilian jump, and Jen White, who coached me on many of my jumps. I’ll never forget getting my license and the time my grandparents came to watch me jump.(一路上我结识了很多很棒的人,也完成了一些相当疯狂的跳伞。我永远不会忘记跳伞俱乐部负责人Adam Abelow开车带我去完成我的首次民用跳伞,也永远不会忘记Jen White指导我完成许多次跳伞。我永远不会忘记自己拿到跳伞执照的那一刻,也永远不会忘记我的祖父母来看我跳伞的时光。)”可推知,作者写最后一段的目的是表达他的感激之情。故选D。 【7题详解】 推理判断题。根据倒数第三段“Eventually, I made 10 skydives, and then it was 20, and I found that I was making jumps at different drop zones. I even bought my own parachute system.(最终,我跳了10次,接着是20次,我发现自己开始在不同的跳伞区进行跳伞。我甚至买了自己的降落伞系统。)”可知,作者富有冒险精神,adventurous最适合描述作者。故选C。 C Giant pandas are among the most lovable animals alive today. Unlike their relatives, such as the polar bear, pandas don’t eat meat but survive on a diet of only bamboo. So why and how have pandas abandoned their taste for meat to pick up a vegetarian diet? Pandas today don’t eat meat. However, they’ve kept much of their meat-eating adaptations from times past. Their digestive systems have not changed much from their meat-eating days. Out of the huge 12.5 kg of bamboo they eat in a single day, only about 17% of it is digested. To survive, pandas eat large amounts of bamboo while having a low-metabolic (新陈代谢的), lazy lifestyle to make up for the poor energy return. The giant panda’s shift to a vegetarian diet is in line with the inactivation of a specific gene-Taslrl, which provides them with the ability to taste certain amino acids (氨基酸) abundant in meat. Its inactivation in pandas would lead to their dietary change. Pandas have evolved to a great degree to cope with their relatively recent bamboo-eating lifestyle. Pandas must seize long and thin pieces of bamboo shoots. To assist with this, they have developed a long “fake-thumb” (伪拇指). So giant pandas have six fingers in each paw which provides better support for them to seize object such as bamboo in one paw quickly. Researchers have found that the surface of the panda’s tongue is different. While other bears and many meat-eating animals have smooth tongues, pandas have evolved tiny projections on the surface of their tongues that serve to file down food. This is especially useful for pandas as they remove the outer cover of bamboo. Time will tell if pandas will adapt and survive, go back to eating meat, or disappear in the wild. Whatever the future holds, we can be grateful that, for the time being, we get to share our planet with these adorable animals. 8. Why are the numbers mentioned in paragraph 2? A. To illustrate the variety of food. B. To represent the evolutionary rule of pandas. C. To describe the changes of living environment. D. To show the low efficiency of digestive system. 9. What caused pandas’ change in diet? A. The low-metabolic ability. B. The amino acids in meat. C. The Taslrl gene’s inactivation. D. The supplies of bamboo. 10. Which aspect of pandas does paragraph 4 focus on? A. The preference for bamboo. B. The evolutionary feature in eating. C. The unique lifestyle. D. The special appearance. 11. Which is the best title for the passage? A. Evolutionary Mystery of Pandas’ Diet. B. Dominance of Genes in Pandas’ Dietary Habits. C. Digestive System: An Unsolved Puzzle. D. Future Challenges of Pandas’ Diet. D 9. C 10. B 11. 根据第二段中的“Out of the huge 12.5 kg of bamboo they eat in a single day, only about 17% of it is digested.(在它们一天吃掉的12.5公斤竹子中,只有17%被消化。)” 根据第三段中的“The giant panda’s shift to a vegetarian diet is in line with the inactivation of a specific gene-Taslrl, which provides them with the ability to taste certain amino acids (氨基酸) abundant in meat.(大熊猫转向素食与一种特殊基因Taslrl失活是一致的,这种基因使它们能够品尝肉类中富含的某些氨基酸。)” 根据第四段中的“Pandas have evolved to a great degree to cope with their relatively recent bamboo-eating lifestyle. Pandas must seize long and thin pieces of bamboo shoots.(熊猫已经进化到很大程度,以适应它们相对较新的吃竹子的生活方式。熊猫必须抓住又长又细的竹笋。)”和“Researchers have found that the surface of the panda’s tongue is different. While other bears and many meat-eating animals have smooth tongues, pandas have evolved tiny projections on the surface of their tongues that serve to file down food.(研究人员发现熊猫舌头的表面是不同的。 However, they’ve kept much of their meat-eating adaptations from times past. Their digestive systems have not changed much from their meat-eating days. Out of the huge 12.5 kg of bamboo they eat in a single day, only about 17% of it is digested. To survive, pandas eat large amounts of bamboo while having a low-metabolic (新陈代谢的), lazy lifestyle to make up for the poor energy return.(今天的熊猫不吃肉。 。故选A。 D In modern society, many people are slacking off while working. But according to a new study, engaging your brain actively at work can benefit you in more ways than just advancing your career — it may also safeguard your cognitive abilities and help prevent dementia as you get older. The significant study, published in Neurology, analyzed health and occupational data on 7,000 Norwegians who were followed from their 30s until they retired in their 60s. “Many other studies on this topic have only looked at the most recent jobs that people have,” said lead author Dr. Trine Edwin, a researcher at University of Oslo, “but due to the national database we have in Norway, we were able to follow people over much of their lifetimes.” To do the analysis Edwin categorized the cognitive demands of 305 occupations in Norway. More cognitively demanding jobs were not based on routine tasks, even though repetition was required at times. “There were lawyers, doctors, accountants, and people in public service in this group, but the most common occupation was teaching,” Edwin said, “as effective communication outside of the classroom and school matters. It always depends on teachers’ understandings of students’ different situations and teachers’ empathy.” Having a routine job with little mental stimulation during your 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s is linked to a 66% higher risk of mild cognitive impairment and a 37% greater risk of dementia after the age of 70, when compared with having an occupation — that requires more complex thinking. “The occupational environment is vital in promoting cognitive well-being.” said Edwin. “Similarly, just like we can use physical exercise to grow and maintain our muscles, exercising our brain through more challenging work assignments seems to help fight dementia.” “While I’d guess that people at risk for dementia would be well served by taking advantage of professional advancement opportunities, learning new job tasks, and refining their skills at work over a period of time, further studies will need to clarify which specific activities have the most brain healthy benefits,” Edwin added. 12. What does the underlined phrase “slacking off” in Paragraph 1 mean? A. working hard B. taking breaks C. showing laziness D. focusing fully 13. Why is Edwin’s research remarkable? A. Because it focused on emerging industries. B. Because it drew inspiration from past studies. C. Because it tracked the subjects for a long term. D. Because it studied Norwegians of a certain age. 14. What makes teaching a cognitively demanding job? A. The emotional labor it involves. B. The number of students and parents. C. The complete lack of repetitive tasks. D. The harmonious relationship it creates. 15. What does the last paragraph mainly talk about? A. Activities that can refine people’s skills at work. B. A recommendation for the future research direction. C. Tips for people who want professional advancement. D. Job tasks that can provide new learning opportunities. C 13. C 14. A 15. 由文章第一段中“In modern society, many people are slacking off while working. But according to a new study, engaging your brain actively at work can benefit you in more ways than just advancing your career — it may also safeguard your cognitive abilities and help prevent dementia as you get older. 由文章第二段中““The significant study, published in Neurology, analyzed health and occupational data on 7,000 Norwegians who were followed from their 30s until they retired in their 60s. “Many other studies on this topic have only looked at the most recent jobs that people have,” said lead author Dr. Trine Edwin, a researcher at University of Oslo, “but due to the national database we have in Norway, we were able to follow people over much of their lifetimes.” 由文章第三段中“More cognitively demanding jobs were not based on routine tasks, even though repetition was required at times. “There were lawyers, doctors, accountants, and people in public service in this group, but the most common occupation was teaching,” Edwin said, “as effective communication outside of the classroom and school matters. It always depends on teachers’ understandings of students’ different situations and teachers’ empathy.” (认知要求较高的工作并非基于常规任务,即便有时需要重复操作。埃德温说:“这类工作中有律师、医生、会计以及从事公共服务的人员,但最常见的职业是教师。因为课堂之外以及校园事务中的有效沟通,始终依赖教师对学生不同情况的理解和同理心。”)”可知,教学取决于教师对学生不同情况的理解和教师的同情,即教学是一项涉及情感劳动的工作,这让教学成为一项对认知要求很高的工。故选A。 【15题详解】 主旨大意题。由文章最后一段““While I’d guess that people at risk for dementia would be well served by taking advantage of professional advancement opportunities, learning new job tasks, and refining their skills at work over a period of time, further studies will need to clarify which specific activities have the most brain healthy benefits,” Edwin added. Make Time to Write Since a new year has started, time lies before us like a blank page, waiting to be filled with writing. We are all busy people, and we sometimes feel that life is working against our writing ambitions and pushing them aside. Yet the most productive writers are the busiest. ____16____ Overcoming self-doubt and fear is the key to unlocking your potential. ____17____ Most of the time, the real reason why we avoid writing is that we’re afraid of failing. It’s simpler to complain about being too busy than to face our fears. To solve this problem, we can try to understand what we’re scared of, deal with it, and then focus on moving forward. A simple way to find more time to write is to give yourself a clear goal. It needs to be SMART: specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound. ____18____ If you successfully meet your target, you could give yourself a small reward: buy a new notebook or pen, go for a long walk, or take a day off from writing and just do something completely different. ____19____ As Henry Ford once said, “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always got”! This could mean writing with a notebook and pen rather than the computer you also use for work. Try varying your approach and see if it helps. Above all, you should prioritize writing over other things. Most successful writers have caring responsibilities, occupations outside the home, and the necessary everyday tasks they all need to complete. Yet they still manage to write. ____20____ So, if you want to make 2025 the year when you get your writing project done, look at how you use your time with a fresh eye. A. Then how can we make sure we get our writing done in 2025? B. So do we need to pursue writing to improve our mental health? C. For example, writing 1,500 words in a week might be realistic. D. Do something different if your current approach isn’t working. E. What they have in common is that they treat writing as important. F. Sitting in front of your computer doesn’t mean the writing will flow. G. We all have a voice in our head that keeps telling us we can’t succeed. 【答案】16. A 17. G 18. C 19. D 20. E 【解析】 【导语】这是一篇说明文。文章主要就如何抽出时间完成写作提出了一些建议。 16题详解】 根据上文“Since a new year has started, time lies before us like a blank page, waiting to be filled with writing. We are all busy people, and we sometimes feel that life is working against our writing ambitions and pushing them aside. Yet the most productive writers are the busiest.(新的一年开始了,时间就像一张白纸摆在我们面前,等着我们去书写。 【18题详解】 根据上文“A simple way to find more time to write is to give yourself a clear goal. It needs to be SMART: specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound.(找到更多时间写作的一个简单方法就是给自己一个明确的目标。它需要是SMART:具体的、可衡量的、可实现的、现实的和有时间限制的)”可知,本句承接上文,举例说明如何设定明确的目标。故C选项“例如,一周写1500字可能是现实的”符合语境,故选C。 【19题详解】 根据后文“As Henry Ford once said, “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always got”! This could mean writing with a notebook and pen rather than the computer you also use for work. Try varying your approach and see if it helps.(正如亨利·福特曾经说过的,“如果你做你一直在做的事情,你会得到你一直得到的”!这可能意味着用笔记本和笔写字,而不是你工作时用的电脑。尝试不同的方法,看看是否有帮助)”可知,本段主要说明了通过做其他的事情或者不同的方法来完成写作。故D选项“如果你目前的方法不起作用,做一些不同的事情”符合语境,故选D。 【20题详解】 根据上文“Above all, you should prioritize writing over other things. Most successful writers have caring responsibilities, occupations outside the home, and the necessary everyday tasks they all need to complete. Yet they still manage to write.(最重要的是,你应该优先考虑写作而不是其他事情。 How do we define what makes a good conversation? When he set off for home, Margarito’s mother looked at the dark sky and noticed the sign of a coming storm. Worried about her son's safety, she told him to drive as carefully as possible on his way home and he promised to give her a call upon his arrival. With his mother's words in mind, Margrito approached the main road carefully. Soon, it started to rain heavily. Eager to get home, Margarito began to drive faster. Two hours later, he came to a bumpy mountain road that had been flooded by a creek(小溪).Margarito, driving a four-wheel truck, figured that he would be OK. At that moment, he didn't realize that such a thought would be a big mistake. It was halfway across the creek that an unfortunate incident took place: The rushing waters grabbed hold of his vehicle, pushing it off the road and sending it down a rocky creek bed. The truck finally stopped some 80 feet away. Margarito’s problems only grew from there as the water had somehow positioned the truck into the creek bank at a 45-degree angle, making it difficult for him to open the driver's side door. Injured and trapped inside with the muddy water rising quickly, Margarito was certain he was going to die. Shaking with fear, he was at a loss about what to do. On the road right behind Margarito were a delivery worker named Steve and his nephew Mike, who were on the way to deliver furniture to customers in the countryside. They witnessed the horrible incident, and when Margarito's truck came to rest in the middle of the overflowing creek, Steve quickly began to take action. First, he grabbed a rope from the back of his vehicle and used it to ensure he could safely approach the truck. 注意: 1.所续词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Next, Steve turned to Mike and yelled," Give me a rock!” ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Margarito was about to thank Steve and Mike when the mobile phone in his jacket pocket rang ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】范文 Next, he turned to Mike and yelled, “Give me a rock!” With the rock in hand, he hit the window over and over , but in vain. He didn’t give up easily; instead, he balanced himself, leaned back and threw the rock at the window again with all his strength. Fortunately, this time he made it — the glass broke. To his relief, it didn’t hurt Margarito, who reached out for Steve’s hand and was rescued. Without delay, the two men escaped and returned to safety. Margarito was about to thank Steve and Mike when the mobile phone in his jacket pocket rang. With trembling hands, Margarito took out the phone and answered it. “Are you home yet? Everything’s good?” His mother’s anxious voice came over. Tears welled up in his eyes on hearing the familiar voice of concern. Margarito choked up as he explained what had happened. Hanging up the phone, he thanked Steve and Mike sincerely. Cold as the rain was, great warmth filled his heart like never before. 词汇激活 行为类 ①成功:make it/succeed ②使受伤,伤到:hurt/injure ③营救,得救:rescue/save 情绪类 ①担心:anxious/worried ②感谢:thank/appreciate/show his appreciation/show his gratitude 【点睛】[高分句型1] To his relief, it didn’t hurt Margarito, who reached out for Steve’s hand and was rescued.(由关系代词who引导的定语从句) [高分句型2] Margarito choked up as he explained what had happened.(由as引导时间状语从句和what引导宾语从句) [高分句型3] Cold as the rain was, great warmth filled his heart like never before.(as引导的让步状语从句的倒装) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 泸县普通高中共同体2025年春期高二半期联合考试 英语试题 第I卷(选择题,共95分) 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 做题时,先将答案标在试卷上。录音内容结束后,你将有两分钟的时间将试题上的答案转涂到答题卡上。 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。每段对话后有一个小题,从题中所给的A、B、C三个选项中选出最佳选项。听完每段对话后,你都有10秒钟的时间来回答有关小题和阅读下一小题。每段对话仅读一遍。 1. B I was never addicted to skydiving, like many jumpers are, but I definitely enjoyed it. C It was a must for skydiving club members. D. He wanted to inspire other students. 6. What is the author’s purpose in writing the last paragraph? A. To show his regret. B. To sum up his honors. C. To introduce a new topic D. To express his thankfulness. 7 Which word can best describe the author? A. Intelligent. B. Organized. C. Adventurous. D. Cautious. C Giant pandas are among the most lovable animals alive today. D In modern society, many people are slacking off while working. Trine Edwin, a researcher at University of Oslo, “but due to the national database we have in Norway, we were able to follow people over much of their lifetimes.” To do the analysis, Edwin categorized the cognitive demands of 305 occupations in Norway. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Make Time to Write Since a new year has started, time lies before us like a blank page, waiting to be filled with writing. 第三部分 语言知识运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 How do we define what makes a good conversation? Later, as he ____28____ how the world was, he told me a saying: “Give without remembering; take without ____29____.” Faisal’s words left me in deep thought. His growing background was quite different from mine. Yet he held such ____30____ philosophy of life. The more I travel, the more I see that the world is ____31____ a good place. There is more that connects us than divides us, about which I’m quite certain. I will again have the ____32____ to be part of these similarly remarkable conversations, and each will be special and may even leave a ____33____ in my life. 注意: 1.所续词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Next, Steve turned to Mike and yelled," Give me a rock!” ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Margarito was about to thank Steve and Mike when the mobile phone in his jacket pocket rang. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
