C.Mastering written and spoken Arabic. 20.What excites the speaker most? A.Being invited to a local meal. B.Shopping at a local market. C.Getting to know the locals. 【答案】18.B 19.C 20.A 【原文】    W: Good evening, everyone. I recently learnt Arabic in Cairo as part of my degree. My interest in the language was due to the passion of our Arabic lecturer and as the course progressed, my interest in the culture also grew with it. I considered studying in the Middle East, but ultimately decided on Cairo due to its energetic cultural scene. However, in the city, we faced some challenges, including difficulties finding a hotel and accommodation as we were a group of unmarried individuals. Once settled, the culture shock was intense for some of us. One member of our group returned home within the first week. Luckily I became accustomed to the life in Cairo gradually. The biggest challenge of learning Arabic is the disconnection between the written and the spoken forms. Despite these challenges, learning Arabic has been a rewarding experience, including absorbing myself in the culture and getting to know the locals and even negotiating at a local market. Highlights were being invited to a traditional Arabic meal at one of the locals’ home and being able to confidently communicate. Overall, this experience was outside of my comfort zone and allowed me to learn and grow in interesting ways. I encourage others to consider involving themselves in new cultures and languages. Thanks for listening. A Georgia, America is famous for its history, but it also has some great getaways beyond its limits. Tybee Island For a day in the sun, head to the soft white sand and expansive beaches of this island, where the waves are good enough for beginners to surf. Surf shops, surf schools and other surf-related businesses attract many to come and boost the development. Locals love coming here to comb the shores for a feast at the oceanfront restaurants. Wassaw Island As one of Georgia’s coastal barrier islands, it was officially named as a National Wildlife Refuge. Boat tours or charters are the easiest way to reach the place, which has no road access, but this is also an ideal destination for the more experienced kayaker Whitemarsh Island This scenic place can give you a quick dose of nature. The oak and palmetto (矮棕榈) forests of the island are laced with different trails. Especially, in its preserve, there is a very beautiful trail that you can explore. It is great for road biking, running, or just walking with your dog. And it’s unlikely that you’ll encounter many other people. The trail is open year-round and can be visited anytime. Skidaway Island State Park Trails on this slice of land along Georgia’s Intracoastal Waterway cut through maritime (海的) forest and past salt marshes, but the best way to see it all is from a boat. You can choose tours that lead exploration where you’re likely to spot deer, egrets (白鹭) and so on. The park also features well-maintained camping sites, making it a perfect destination for overnight stays in the peaceful coastal landscape 21.What do we know about Tybee Island? A.The view is more charming on rainy days. B.The surf industry is helpful for its economy. C.The offshore view invites locals to come. D.The island receives credit from the nation. 22.What makes Whitemarsh Island special? A.The experience of exploring the trail. B.The chance of taking a boat travel. C.The chance of spotting dolphins. D.The experience of overnight stays. 23.Which is suitable for a camp? A.Tybee Island. B.Wassaw Island. C.Whitemarsh Island. D.Skidaway Island State Park. 根据Tybee Island部分中的“Surf shops, surf schools and other surf-related businesses attract many to come and boost the development. (冲浪店、冲浪学校和其他与冲浪相关的企业吸引了许多人来这里,促进了发展。)”可知,冲浪产业对其经济有帮助。故选B项。 22.细节理解题。根据Whitemarsh Island部分中的“Especially, in its preserve, there is a very beautiful trail that you can explore. (特别是,在它的保护区,有一条非常美丽的小径,你可以去探索。)”可知,探索小径的经历让Whitemarsh Island变得特别。故选A项。 23. 根据Skidaway Island State Park部分中的“The park also features well-maintained camping sites, making it a perfect destination for overnight stays in the peaceful coastal landscape. (该公园还拥有维护良好的露营地,是您在宁静的海岸景观中过夜的理想目的地。)”可知,Skidaway Island State Park适合露营。故选D项。 B I lost my sight at 18 due to an eye condition. By the third year of my math and stats degree, I’d decided that enough was enough—I wasn’t going to tiptoe (蹑手蹑脚地走) through life in cotton wool. Against the wishes of my parents, I headed off to Canada. I went there alone—just me and my blindness. That taught me your world becomes bigger when you push your limits. In 2020, I took part in a 220-mile hike across Nicaragua alongside 10 other people with disabilities for a BBC program. We had to work as a team to go across tropical rainforests and a lake with sharks, as well as up a 5,000ft volcano. I was pushing a wheelchair through a dense jungle; no amount of exercise could have prepared me for it — it became all about mental toughness. Often, people who are sighted think they need to be good at describing scenery, but they can just describe what they see as a normal conversation. I love it when people give me the overview first; when you look at a picture, you don’t see the little details straight away. As words go into my ears, they translate into beautiful pictures. I’ll keep the imagery and mix it with other sensory details. If I’m at Victoria Falls, I’ll have the falls described to me, and then feel the spray (水花) on my face. I hear the thunderous falls, and I’m aware of their smell. They’re all feelings that add up to an incredible experience. I had one of my most amazing experiences on a floating island in Lake Titicaca. I took a group in 2022, and the indigenous people had never met anybody blind before. When I took another group a few weeks later, they’d made a scale model of the island so that the blind could touch it. It doesn’t matter where you go, finding that connection is priceless. For blind people, it’s natural to feel that the world has closed for you, but when you have a positive mind, obstacles (障碍) become opportunities. 24.How did the author probably feel about his life before heading off to Canada? A.Puzzled. B.Bored. C.Satisfied. D.Inspired. 25.What can be inferred about the author from his hike in 2020? A.He failed to get along with other people. B.He was treated differently during the trip. C.He trained hard to hike through forests. D.He was tested physically and mentally. 26.Compared with normal people, what may the author think is his advantage in touring? A.His combination of various senses. B.His easy and relaxing schedule. C.His rich words and expressions. D.His extraordinary imagination. 27.What can be learned from the author’s experience? A.Time and tide wait for no man. B.Never judge a book by its cover. C.To know oneself is true progress. D.Never set boundaries for one’s life. I’d decided that enough was enough—I wasn’t going to tiptoe  through life in cotton wool. Against the wishes of my parents, I headed off to Canada.(……我决定受够了——我不想在棉絮里一样蹑手蹑脚地生活。我不顾父母的反对,前往加拿大)”可知,作者在去加拿大之前,对自己的生活感到厌恶,觉得无聊。故选B项。 25.推理判断题。根据第二段“We had to work as a team to go across tropical rainforests and a lake with sharks, as well as up a 5,000ft volcano. I was pushing a wheelchair through a dense jungle; no amount of exercise could have prepared me for it—it became all about mental toughness.(我们必须作为一个团队穿过热带雨林和一个有鲨鱼的湖泊,以及一座5000英尺高的火山。我推着轮椅穿过茂密的丛林;再多的运动也不可能让我为此做好准备——这一切都是关于精神上的坚韧)”可推知,这次的远足对作者的身心都是一个考验。故选D项。 26.细节理解题。根据第三段“As words go into my ears, they translate into beautiful pictures. I’ll keep the imagery and mix it with other sensory details. If I’m at Victoria Falls, I’ll have the falls described to me, and then feel the spray (水花) on my face. I hear the thunderous falls, and I’m aware of their smell. They’re all feelings that add up to an incredible experience.(当话语进入我的耳朵,它们就变成了美丽的画面。我将保留图像并将其与其他感官细节混合。如果我在维多利亚瀑布,我会让人向我描述瀑布,然后感受水花打在脸上的感觉。我听到了雷鸣般的瀑布声,我闻到了瀑布的味道。它们都是一种不可思议的体验)”可知,旅行中,和视觉正常的人相比,可以运用更多种感官(听觉、触觉、嗅觉等)综合体验景色。故选A项。 27. 根据第一段“That taught me your world becomes bigger when you push your limits.(它教会了我,当你挑战自己的极限时,你的世界会变得更大)”和最后一段“For blind people, it’s natural to feel that the world has closed for you, but when you have a positive mind, obstacles (障碍) become opportunities.(对于盲人来说,感觉世界对你关闭是很自然的,但是当你有一个积极的心态时,障碍就会变成机会)”可知,作者通过自己的体验与感悟告诉我们:当你勇于挑战自我时,你的世界就会变得更加宽广,困难中也蕴含着机会,所以不要给自己的人生设限。故选D项。 C A new research by Stanford University psychology Professor Jeanne Tsai and her team suggests a key puzzle involves culture. The team examined the emotional content of Twitter posts made by users in the United States and Japan. Most previous studies on social media have focused on Western users. In contrast, the Stanford team included a non-Western context. “It just felt for me that a piece is missing if you don’t consider culture,” said lead author and graduate student Tiffany Hsun. “Culture is such an important aspect in terms of social media and connecting people.” The research team analyzed thousands of tweets from both countries. They used a tool called SentiStrength which scores texts based on positivity, negativity, and emotional intensity. Their analysis revealed clear cultural patterns: American users generally produce more positive and high-energy content (e.g., The cutest pictures are from Kindergarten graduation! ♥), while Japanese users tend to post messages with calmer, lower-arousal emotions (e.g., Another week of exams then I’m free ). However, the opposite seemed to apply after users had been exposed to others’ posts. “Users seemed to be most influenced by others’ posts when those posts contained feelings against their cultural values.” explained Hsu, “So for the U. S., users are most influenced by others’ high arousal negative content like nervousness, but for Japan, users are most influenced by others’ high arousal positive states like excitement.” The researchers described this effect as “affective hijacking”, in which exposure to content that goes against users’ cultural values temporarily redirects their own content. Researchers aren’t totally sure where these disruptive posts from, but they noticed these posts often spread fake news or lies. This suggests to them that the content may be generated by people attempting to mislead others or even by algorithms created to stir up disputes. They suggested that future developments might include software tools similar to junk email blockers. 28.What is the main purpose of the Stanford research? A.To improve tools for checking text emotions. B.To compare social media habits in two countries. C.To prove fake news spreads faster across cultures. D.To study how culture affects online emotional posts. 29.According to the study, American users tend to produce posts with emotions like ________. A.anger and anxiety B.sadness and depression C.delight and excitement D.calmness and relaxation 30.Why were Japanese users more influenced by high-arousal positive posts? A.Such posts are common in Japan. B.Their culture lacks interaction. C.Such posts conflict with their culture. D.Their culture values positive emotions. 31.What social problem might “affective hijacking” cause? A.Confusion of cultural identity among young users. B.Spread of online rumors and cross-culture conflicts. C.Overload of information on social media platforms. D.Increase in cyberbullying based on cultural differences. 根据第一段“A new research by Stanford University psychology Professor Jeanne Tsai and her team suggests a key puzzle involves culture. The team examined the emotional content of Twitter posts made by users in the United States and Japan. (斯坦福大学心理学教授Jeanne Tsai及其团队的一项新研究表明,一个关键谜题涉及文化。该团队研究了美国和日本用户在Twitter上发布的帖子的情感内容)”可知,斯坦福大学研究的主要目的是研究文化如何影响网络情感帖子。故选D。 29.细节理解题。根据第三段“Their analysis revealed clear cultural patterns: American users generally produce more positive and high-energy content (e.g., The cutest pictures are from Kindergarten graduation! ♥), while Japanese users tend to post messages with calmer, lower-arousal emotions (e.g., Another week of exams then I’m free ). (他们的分析揭示了明显的文化模式:美国用户通常发布更多积极且高能量的内容<例如,最可爱的照片来自幼儿园毕业典礼!♥>,而日本用户倾向于发布更平静、低唤醒度的情感信息<例如,再考一周试我就自由了   >)”可知,根据这项研究,美国用户倾向于发布带有喜悦和兴奋等情绪的帖子。故选C。 30.推理判断题。根据第四段““Users seemed to be most influenced by others’ posts when those posts contained feelings against their cultural values.” explained Hsu, “So for the U. S., users are most influenced by others’ high arousal negative content like nervousness, but for Japan, users are most influenced by others’ high arousal positive states like excitement.” (“当这些帖子包含与他们文化价值观相悖的情感时,用户似乎最容易受到他人帖子的影响。”Hsu解释道,“所以对于美国来说,用户最容易受到他人高唤醒度的负面内容的影响,比如紧张,但对于日本来说,用户最容易受到他人高唤醒度的正面状态的影响,比如兴奋。”)”可知,日本用户更容易受到高唤醒度正面帖子的影响,是因为这样的帖子与他们的文化相冲突。故选C。 31.推理判断题。根据最后一段“Researchers aren’t totally sure where these disruptive posts from, but they noticed these posts often spread fake news or lies. This suggests to them that the content may be generated by people attempting to mislead others or even by algorithms created to stir up disputes. (研究人员并不完全确定这些破坏性帖子来自哪里,但他们注意到这些帖子经常传播假新闻或谎言。这让他们认为,这些内容可能是由试图误导他人的人生成的,甚至是由旨在挑起争端的算法生成的)”可知,“情感劫持”可能引起的社会问题是网络谣言的传播和跨文化冲突。故选B。 D Research has found that loneliness and social isolation are associated with an increased risk of conditions like anxiety, depression, heart disease, and stroke. In fact, a 2010 analysis found that loneliness is as harmful to physical health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day—meaning using friendship to reduce loneliness is good for you. But how many friends should you have? According to Jeffrey Hall, a professor of communication studies at the University of Kansas, if you want to ease the health impacts of loneliness, the most important thing you can do is to have at least one important person in your life. But if you want to have the most meaningful life, one where you feel very bonded and connected to others, more friends are better. Some research endorses his remarks. One study from 2016 found that those with at least six friends have better health throughout their lives, and a study from 2020 found that middle-aged women who have at least three friends typically have higher levels of overall satisfaction with their lives. To figure out whether you need more friends in your life, psychologist Marisa Franco recommends asking yourself, “Do I feel lonely?” Loneliness is sort of an alarm system. While everyone feels lonely sometimes, you should determine whether you feel left out or isolated regularly. Franco also recommends asking yourself if there are parts of your identity that you feel are restricted. “Different people bring out different parts of us. So when you have a large friend group, you’re able to experience this side of yourself that loves basketball, and that side of yourself that loves flowers,” Franco said. “If you’re not feeling quite like yourself, that might indicate you need different types of friends.” Since making new friends can be difficult, Franco said it’s often easier to rekindle old relationships. She added that you should take the initiative and not assume that friendships will naturally happen. “Ultimately, there ‘isn’t a magic number’ of friends for everyone,” Hall said. “Your personality and the characteristics of your life are going to make a difference.” 32.What might Jeffrey Hall agree with? A.Having just one friend leads to more happiness. B.Everyone’s ideal number of friends doesn’t vary. C.A broad friend network enables strong connections. D.Friendship should be prioritized in social relations. 33.What does the underlined word “endorses” in paragraph 3 mean? A.Creates. B.Supports. C.Satisfies. D.Introduces. 34.Which one suggests a person needs more friends according to Franco? A.Continuous self-doubt. B.Few exciting experiences. C.Ineffective social activities. D.Constant feelings of isolation. 35.What does Franco say about having a large friend group? A.It requires befriending those with shared values. B.It ensures personal growth by wide social circles. C.It means a person won’t feel restricted any longer. D.It helps explore different aspects of one’s personality. 根据第二段“According to Jeffrey Hall, a professor of communication studies at the University of Kansas, if you want to ease the health impacts of loneliness, the most important thing you can do is to have at least one important person in your life. But if you want to have the most meaningful life, one where you feel very bonded and connected to others, more friends are better.(根据堪萨斯大学传播学教授Jeffrey Hall的说法,如果你想减轻孤独对健康的影响,你能做的最重要的事情就是在你的生活中至少有一个重要的人。但如果你想拥有最有意义的生活,一个你感觉与他人紧密相连的生活,那么朋友越多越好。)”可知,Jeffrey Hall可能会同意的是广泛的朋友网络可以建立牢固的联系。故选C。 33.词句猜测题。根据第三段“One study from 2016 found that those with at least six friends have better health throughout their lives, and a study from 2020 found that middle-aged women who have at least three friends typically have higher levels of overall satisfaction with their lives.(2016年的一项研究发现,拥有至少6个朋友的人一生都更健康,2020年的一项研究发现,拥有至少3个朋友的中年女性通常对生活的总体满意度更高。)” 根据第四段“To figure out whether you need more friends in your life, psychologist Marisa Franco recommends asking yourself, “Do I feel lonely?”(为了弄清楚你的生活中是否需要更多的朋友,心理学家Marisa Franco建议你问问自己:“我感到孤独吗?”)” 根据第五段“Different people bring out different parts of us. So when you have a large friend group, you’re able to experience this side of yourself that loves basketball, and that side of yourself that loves flowers(不同的人展现出我们不同的一面。所以当你有一大群朋友的时候,你就能体会到自己热爱篮球的这一面,以及自己热爱鲜花的那一面)”可推断出,拥有一个大的朋友群有助于探索一个人性格的不同方面。故选D。 第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Athletes of every sport prove it’s never too late to uncover your fitness potential. D选项“So think about the kind of sport that makes you feel good.(所以想想哪种运动能让你感觉良好。)” 37.上文“Commit to about four weeks of exercise.( 坚持大约四周的锻炼。)” E选项“According to research, this can help you build a new routine.(根据研究,这可以帮助你养成一个新的习惯。)” 38.下文“If you can get that repetition going while you have high motivation, you’re much more likely to have a behavior change that lasts.(如果你能在动力高涨的时候坚持重复做某事,你就更有可能形成持久的行为改变。)”强调了重复的重要性,A选项“Repetition is the key.(重复是关键。)” 故选A。 39.下文提到“Exercise doesn’t have to leave you absolutely exhausted for it to count.(锻炼不一定要让你筋疲力尽才算数。)”和“Any kind of regular, moderate physical activity that gets your heart rate up will bring you benefits like better sleep, reduced anxiety and lower blood pressure.(任何能让你心率上升的常规、适度的体育活动都会给你带来好处,比如更好的睡眠、减轻焦虑和降低血压。)” C选项“Change your definition of ‘exercise’.(改变你对‘锻炼’的定义。)” F选项“There’s a reason many Olympic athletes train with partners or on larger teams.(许多奥运选手选择与伙伴或在更大团队中训练是有原因的。)” After a full day of school, Rose Quigley wore gloves and quickly picked bunches of fresh vegetables. The bell’s ringing brought her out of her daydreaming. She nervously gathered her books, preparing to reach another classroom for the next new class. Lily followed the other kids and rushed into the hallway. Others walked in groups, chatted, and laughed, using the break to socialize. Lily, instead, walked alone along the wall of the hallway, with her head down. She was a shy girl, afraid to speak in front of other kids, and didn’t think others would like her. Lily finally sat in Mr. Johnson’s Language Arts class nervously. “Welcome to Language Arts,” said Mr. Johnson. He told jokes as he talked about English. Lily forgot to daydream and laughed along with the rest of the class. “We’ll have some fun with language,” he said. “Just wait and see.” Fun was far beyond what Lily desired. She just wanted to be like other kids—running with friends in the hallway, laughing and joking between classes. Reminded of her pimply (长粉刺的) face, she felt hopeless and disappointed. “Take out a piece of paper,” the teacher continued, when pointing at words on the blackboard. “Write for the next thirty minutes on this topic.” Lily began writing crazily as idea after idea fought for recognition in her head. The final result was a short story about a beautiful beach house. As she wrote, she could smell the salty air, hear the crashing waves and feel the pull of the sand beneath her feet. For just a moment, she forgot where she was. She was lost in the story. “OK, pass your papers forward,” said the teacher. “Let’s see what we have.” For the rest of the class time, the teacher read each individual work aloud. Lily originally thought it would be awkward. However, she was gradually attracted by the excitement in the teacher’s voice. “He’s actually enjoying this,” she thought. When the class would be soon over, there were still fifteen students’ papers not read, including Lily’s paper. Then, Mr. Johnson announced his decision, asking these students to read their work themselves in front of the class next class. Paragraph 1: A week later, the bell rang and the Language Arts class began again. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: After Lily finished her reading, the clapping from her classmates continued for a long time. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: A week later, the bell rang and the Language Arts class began again. Lily was nervous with her head down. After other students finished reading the papers one by one, finally, it was Lily’s turn. Frozen with fear, Lily stood in front of the class, with her hands holding her paper, shaking. Seeing it, Mr. Johnson told a funny joke, which made all laugh. Feeling more relaxed, Lily began reading. She was so focused that she felt she was alone. She didn’t notice that her story soon attracted all her classmates who sat up straight, without any chatting. They were lost in her fantastic story. After Lily finished her reading, the clapping from her classmates continued for a long time. Lily was shocked. When she raised her head, she found everyone staring at her excitedly. Lily finally smiled. She found everyone in the class responded to her story positively. After that class, Lily slowly lifted her head while walking. Later, she kept writing. And she began speaking in front of people and enjoyed it. A braver and more confident girl appeared. And she was grateful to Mr. Johnson who believed in every student. 词汇激活 行为类 结束:finish/complete 抬起:raise/lift 注意到:notice /take notice of 情绪类 感谢的:grateful /thankful 轻松的:relaxed /relieved 【点睛】[高分句型1] Frozen with fear, Lily stood in front of the class, with her hands holding her paper, shaking. And she was grateful to Mr. Johnson who believed in every student. 样小塑25分:41-5引小姓,鲜小烟1分,) 1【A1IBIC 141IBJICI 路二《裤公5分) HIAJIBIICI IAILBJECI tAIIBIICI 71A11B1C1 12.1a11B11t 1T IAIIBIECI 3【At川C 814HHe司 B1A11B14 #.1A1t可EG1 4EA111C1 91A11B1c1 14141H1IC IAILBIICI s IAHBHCI m (AHIBJICI 场141目码 IAJIBJICI nIAIIBIICHDI 1AIIBIICIIDIM IAJIBIICIIDI xIAIIBIECIIDILEIIFIIGI IAJIRJICIIDI 27 1AIIBICIIDI IA1IIEIDI J”1 AJIRIIc1IDI重JFI可 IAI参1C11D 81A1HB1C1叫 【A1HB1IC1D1 3格1AI[sC1IDE重1EF1IG H1A10R11C1ID可 IAUIBIICIDI 41A1I1Ci01 IAJIBIECIIDBEJLFIIGI 251A1B1iC1HD司1A1计BHC1叫 31A11811C1ID1 解1Al81EC1IDt1UFIG可 fer Liy finishefher reatng, mhe clipping frow her clasneafes contumned for u lontg pe. 41A垂11g11D9514111HC01 到I41I1CD1 IAII8IICIIPI P141111 S[AJIBIICHDI IAUIRUCIIDI 每14 IRIICID叫 9141111CD IAIIBIICIIDI IAII8JICIDI S IAJBIICIPI IAIINJICHIDI 1AlIBIICIIDI IAIIBIICIDI 样在青随目行等理区线4作作,里公区应是控长城的许常主给! ………………○……………… … 学校:______________姓名:_____________班级:_______________考号:______________________ 2024-2025学年高二英语下学期第三次月考(北师大版2019) (考试时间:120分钟 试卷满分:150分) 考生注意: 1. 1.What will the speakers do on Thursday? B I lost my sight at 18 due to an eye condition. By the third year of my math and stats degree, I’d decided that enough was enough — I wasn’t going to tiptoe (蹑手蹑脚地走) through life in cotton wool. Against the wishes of my parents, I headed off to Canada. I went there alone — just me and my blindness. C A new research by Stanford University psychology Professor Jeanne Tsai and her team suggests a key puzzle involves culture. D Research has found that loneliness and social isolation are associated with an increased risk of conditions like anxiety, depression, heart disease, and stroke. In fact, a 2010 analysis found that loneliness is as harmful to physical health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day — meaning using friendship to reduce loneliness is good for you. Athletes of every sport prove it’s never too late to uncover your fitness potential. Whether you have big Olympic dreams or just want to finish a 5K run, here are science-backed tips on how to kickstart (and keep) an exercise routine. Start an exercise routine that you’ll actually continue This may sound like a no-brainer, but many people start off their fitness journey with a too-ambitious routine in the hopes of seeing quick results - only to give up after a few weeks. 36 If you like being in nature, plan a day bike or take up surfing. If you love dancing, try a Zumba class. Give yourself a month Commit to about four weeks of exercise. 37 One 2020 randomized (随机的) controlled trial, for example, found that people who were paid to exercise for 28 days were likely to continue exercising 10 months later. “ 38 ,” says Katy Milkman, a professor at the Wharton School of Business who worked on the study. “If you can get that repetition going while you have high motivation, you’re much more likely to have a behavior change that lasts.” 39 Exercise doesn’t have to leave you absolutely exhausted for it to count. Research shows that just a little bit counts in big ways. You can try mowing the lawn, taking your dog on a brisk walk or playing basketball with friends. Any kind of regular, moderate physical activity that gets your heart rate up will bring you benefits like better sleep, reduced anxiety and lower blood pressure. Get a workout buddy 40 Teammates help you “hold yourself accountable,” says Dr. Mitesh Patel, a behavioral scientist. You’ll be less likely to break from your training plan if a gym buddy is counting on you to show up and put in the work with them. A.Repetition is the key. B.Engage in various exercises. C.Change your definition of “exercise”. D.So think about the kind of sport that makes you feel good. E.According to research, this can help you build a new routine. F.There’s a reason many Olympic athletes train with partners or on larger teams. I used to stay in Auckland cafes for many hours, 59 (think) about my philosophy and literature courses. To my mind, a cafe was a more attractive place than a library. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第7页(共8页) 试题 第8页(共8页) 试题 第5页(共8页) 试题 第6页(共8页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$听力考试正式开始。Hey, that new superhero movie is out this weekend, but we're going hiking. My interest in the language was due to the passion of our arabic lecture, and as the course progressed, my interest in the culture also grew. With that, I considered studying in the middle east, but ultimately decided on Carol due to its energetic cultural scene. However, in the city, we faced some chAllenges, including difficulties finding a hotel and accommodation as we were a group of unmarried individuals. Once settled, the culture shock was intense for some of us. One member of our group returned home within the first week. Luckily, I became accustom to the life in caro. Gradually, the biggest chAllenge of learning arabic is the disconnection between the written and the spoken forms. Despite these chAllenges, learning arabic c has been a rewarding experience, including absorbing my self in the culture and getting to know the locals, and even negotiating at a local market. Highlights were being invited to a traditional arabic meal at one of the locals home and being able to confidently communicate. Overall, this experience was outside of my comfort zone and allowed me to learn and grow in interesting ways I encourage others to consider involving themselves in new cultures and languages. C A new research by Stanford University psychology Professor Jeanne Tsai and her team suggests a key puzzle involves culture. It’s part of a new weekly “food box” 47 set up in the school’s yard. Three students 48 digital tablets to process orders, while other students 49 free salad featuring produce from the farm. Quigley’s 50 for farming arises from Teens for Food Justice, a 6-year-old nonprofit organization that has worked with community partners to 51 students at Brownsville and two other schools to become educated urban farmers and consumers. Quigley finds the farm experience 52 . She credits it with improving her community’s 53 . “We could have been stuck eating fried chicken every day.” she says. Chengdu’s daily lifestyle appealed 58 me greatly, perhaps because it was a habit that I could understand. Before I visited China, I studied in a college. I used to stay in Auckland cafes for many hours, 59 (think) about my philosophy and literature courses. To my mind, a cafe was a more attractive place than a library. From 60 I had read about Chengdu, I came to the conclusion that people there shared my view. The one thing I’ve always liked about China 61 (be) that they respect people who have a 62 (tend) to take things easy. In a city like Chengdu, I’d heard, this kind of intellectual laziness was not only acceptable but also part of daily life. If you longed to have anything achieved, you’d better start with 63 Strong, hot cup of green tea The fresh fragrance (芳香) washed about you and your companions as you thought, chatted or played. Chengdu is just as busy as any city struggling 64 (become) as wealthy as it can be. However, the roots in culture are still deep, and can 65 (feel) even still. Dear teachers, _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________. It was the first week of Lily’s middle school. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1 / 15 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
