阅读理解(每小题2.5分,满分20分) A Skill of copying and moving images onto paper is an art form shining in history,Zhao Xu reports.Rubbing, the tracing(描摹) of characters onto a piece of paper, reached its golden age during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). To do this,a thin piece of paper was placed over the surface of the stone tablet(石板) carved with characters. Then water,or later, ink, was applied smoothly to the back of the paper with just the right amount of pressure,to soften the paper and allow for a total moving of the details onto it.The paper was left to dry and then be lifted off the stone surface, carrying with it a copy of the original(原作). Repeated hundreds of thousands of times during the Song era, this hands-on skill enabled educated members of Song society to have a chance to learn from master calligraphic works either from their own times or from earlier dynasties.Oftentimes, the original calligraphy,or even its stone version, became lost over time, thus making the rubbings the only surviving copy of the masterworks that had once existed. In that sense, the Song rubbings, and those behind them have helped to preserve a cultural relic much valued then and now. Now,art lovers have the chance to visit it at an exhibition held at the Palace Museum of Beijing themed the Song rubbings.Of the 40 pieces on show,20 are drawn from the collection of the Palace Museum, which holds a total of 150 Song rubbings. The other half are lent for the first time by the Art Museum of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK),whose collection of rubbings were donated by J.S.Lee. “What we have here is not just a showcase of the beauty of ink and paper, the art of calligraphy, carving and rubbing, but also the telling of stories shining in cultural pride and common spirit,” said Wang Xudong, director of the Palace Museum. 1.What do we know about rubbing? A.There were five steps to make a rubbing. B.It moved characters from paper to a stone. C.It was well developed in the Song Dynasty. D.Pressure was applied to the paper to smooth it. 根据第一段的“Rubbing, the tracing(描摹) of characters onto a piece of paper, reached its golden age during the Song Dynasty (960-1279).” C。 2.What is paragraph 3 mainly about? A.The process of rubbing. B.The loss of rubbing. C.The development of rubbing. D.The importance of rubbing. D。 3.What does paragraph 4 suggest? A.Altogether there are 150 rubbings on show. B.Twenty of the rubbings were donated by CUHK. C.Sources of the exhibits are from two organizations. D.190 Song rubbings are housed in the Palace Museum now. 根据第四段的“Of the 40 pieces on show,20 are drawn from the collection of the Palace Museum...The other half are lent for the first time by the Art Museum of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK),whose collection of rubbings were donated by J.S.Lee.” C。 4.How does Wang Xudong feel about the exhibition? A.Proud. B.Shocked. C.Thankful. D.Worried. A。 B Molly Cairncross,a researcher, and her team have been investigating how screen time affects concussion(脑震荡) recovery. This research suggests that after a concussion, sending a text or watching a TV show probably won’t harm your recovery and some screen time might even do wonders for the process. The study analyzed health records from 633 kids with a concussion. The 8- to 16-year-olds were treated between September 2016 and December 2018.The researchers collected health data from before and after the concussions.Patients and their parents filled out questionnaires.Parents also shared information about their kids’ sleep, screen time and other activities. After a concussion, kids reported symptoms(症状) such as trouble concentrating, memory problems and headaches. The researchers expected that these symptoms would escalate with time spent on screens. As in the earlier study, high amounts of screen time were linked to worse symptoms. But two to seven hours a day of screen time seemed the best.Kids in that range reported fewer symptoms than both those who spent more time each day on devices and those who spent less. It’s not clear why screen time seemed to help lessen symptoms.Cairncross suggests this may have to do with the nature of concussion. This brain injury, she explains, doesn’t break your brain.Instead,it affects how your brain works. The brain needs rest to heal(康复).But the brain also needs some exercise to aid that healing. And activities on a screen can be one way to use your brain. Cairncross also points out that what you do on screens matters. For example, texting and videoconferencing could be helpful. They allow kids to connect with others. If a moderate amount of screen time keeps you in touch with your friends and your social support group, she says,it could do more good than harm. But there’s another way to look at the new data, says Ted Macnow,a children’s emergency-medicine doctor.Kids with more serious concussions might have avoided screens simply because being on them proved uncomfortable. In other words,he says, less screen time might have been the result of the symptoms, not the cause. 5.What has the new study found out? A.A concussion can slow down the brain’s function. B.Proper screen time may aid recovery from concussions. C.Active screen users are less likely to suffer concussions. D.Young people’s concussions may take less time to heal. 根据第一段中“This research suggests...won’t harm your recovery and some screen time might even do wonders...” B。 6.What does the underlined word “escalate” in paragraph 3 probably mean? A.Begin. B.Separate. C.Increase. D.Disappear. 根据画线词后的“As in the earlier study, high amounts of screen time were linked to worse symptoms.” C。 7.How might screen time affect concussion patients according to Cairncross? A.It encourages brain activity during their healing process. B.It reduces their risk of developing long-term injuries. C.It helps take their attention away from their pain. D.It enables their brain to take a complete rest. 根据第四段中“But the brain also needs some exercise to aid that healing. And activities on a screen can be one way to use your brain.” A。 8.What is probably Macnow’s attitude to the result of the new study? A.Disappointed. B.Supportive. C.Surprised. D.Doubtful. Ⅱ.七选五(每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) Music is present in any part of the world, and it is appreciated and felt everywhere.Without its presence, life could be boring.Studies show that music is good for your body and mind. 1 Music can increase pain management.Listening to music can help increase your pain tolerance(耐痛性). 2 Listening to music can help you gain a sense of control over your ability to deal with pains. If you have a certain pain, for example, listening to music that you enjoy can help reduce the pain that you experience. 3 Listening to certain types of music, such as relaxing music, can naturally reduce both your heartbeat rate and breathing rate.Additionally, music has shown promising results as a treatment for heart disease.Whether it involves listening to music or composing music, the calming effect that music produces further improves your heart’s health by supporting it throughout the healing process.
