Ⅰ.阅读理解(每小题2.5分,共20分)
A
Less than a few days after a chatbot called My AI was launched to users,Helen Lee,a mother from Missouri, told her 10-year-old daughter to stay away from this new chatting tool.“I don’t think she knows how to separate humans and machines because they appear almost the same on the Internet,” Lee said.
Powered by ChatGPT,a computer programme which can have conversations with humans,My AI can offer recommendations, answer questions and chat with users. But it has a vital difference: You don’t need to visit a website because it shows up on your social media app.So it also may be less clear than you’re talking to a computer.
This new tool is facing bad reviews not only from parents but also from some users out of privacy concerns.Michael Smith,a manager at a software company, uncovered that it gave kids with suggestions on how to lie to their parents.Other users also shared worries about how the tool collects information from their phones.“I took a picture...and it said ‘nice shoes’ and asked who the people were in the picture.”
But not all users dislike the tool. One user wrote that she’s been asking My AI for help with homework.“It gets all of the questions right.” Another user said she got comfort and assistance from it.“It offers really great ideas on some real-life situations.I love the support it gives.”
The tech company said it would continue to better My AI and is working to set some bottom lines and guidelines to keep its users safe.In a blog post last week, the company said,“My AI is far from perfect but we’ve made a lot of progress.”
For now, parents should remind their kids not to share anything personal with it.“Chatbot is not your friend,” said Michael Smith.“Anyone interacting with it needs to be very cautious, especially teenagers who may be more likely to trust what it says.”

The British Museum,in London, recently planned to make digital copies of all the objects it keeps. The project to deal with about 8 million objects will take five years. The reason for this is that the museum said in August that about 2, 000 objects had been stolen or missing.
The museum is one of the busiest in the world. It holds objects such as the Rosetta Stone, the Parthenon Marbles—known as the Elgin Marbles—and ancient stones and jewelry(珠宝).
The leader,or chair of the museum,is George Osborne. He recently told the Culture,Media and Sport Committee of Parliament that he believed a person who worked at the museum was responsible.Osborne called it “an inside job by someone who the museum had put trust in.” He said the person took objects from the museum little by little.
The museum’s director at the time was German art historian Hartwig Fischer.Fischer left the job in August after serving since 2016.He said he must be responsible for the thefts(盗窃) in the end.He added the museum did not react as it should have when concerns first came up that someone had been stealing.
The museum head said about 350 of the 2, 000 objects have been found and are in the process of being returned.Stolen objects included gold rings, earrings and other jewelry from the ancient Greek and Roman times.
The director of the museum at present is Mark Jones. He said the museum is confident “that a theft of this kind can never happen again.” Jones added that one way to improve the museum’s safety is to show more objects to the public instead of,as he said,“simply locking objects away.”
In September, the museum asked for help in finding the missing objects. The organization offered a phone number for people to call if they had information.

One sunny morning, the sun began to rise, casting a warm golden glow over the park. Two young men named Tom and Jerry, who was lost in their own books, found themselves sitting on opposite ends of a bench. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the distant sound of children playing.Their eyes met for a brief moment before they both bent down to pick up their pens.It seemed as if they had known before. They quickly became friends and then began to spend many happy times together. They played basketball, watched movies, and spent many unforgettable days together. However,as time went on,their lives changed, and their friendship was put to the test.
A few years later,Tom became a successful lawyer, while Jerry chose a different path and became an artist.Despite different kinds of changes in their lifestyles, they still kept in touch and would gather together every once in a while to recall the good old days.
One day,Tom received a letter from Jerry. The letter said,“Dear Tom,I hope you can come and visit my art exhibition.I know you may not be interested in art,but I think you will like these works. They are all paintings I made during the days we spent together.I hope you can feel the friendship between us.”
After reading the letter,Tom immediately decided to attend Jerry’s art exhibition. He bought a bunch of flowers as a gift and arrived at the exhibition site. When he walked into the exhibition hall,he was shocked by what he saw.The walls were filled with Jerry’s works, each painting full of life and emotion. He saw scenes of them playing basketball in the park, watching movies together, and walking in the rain. These paintings made him feel the deep friendship between them.
