【答案】17. A 18. B 19. A 20. B
【解析】
【原文】For most people, doing the laundry is a basic part of life. As long as clean clothes are in demand, a laundry business will be too. Though people always need clean clothes, many don’t have time to handle this elementary task. In fact, laundry is often thought to be the least favorable household chore, followed by cooking and sweeping. Considering the constant need for clean clothes, starting a business in the laundry industry can be a great option for a beginner.
Running your own laundry business does not require any specific qualification or experience. The most important thing is: It’s necessary to carry out local market research before you make a business plan or buy equipment. Such businesses are most popular in areas with lots of people or where people might not have their own washing machines, for example, the university campus and popular tourist spots.
You may want to run a laundry where customers wash their clothes using your machines. You can also offer services. For example, customers can drop off their laundry, and then pick it up when it’s done. You can also offer pick-up and delivery services. Whichever you choose, you’ll need washing and drying machines and many other essential things for the business. Keep all of these in mind when you set about calculating the initial costs.

By the middle of the last decade, I had been studying Indian Butterflies for over 20 years. However, I had never observed butterflies at high altitudes in the trans-Himalayan habitat. So, in 2015, I decided to visit Ladakh to search for butterflies.
My first “butterflying” visit to Ladakh was in June 2016, then in July of the same year, followed by another visit in August 2018. For these visits, I charted out a two-week schedule on each occasion. I covered some of the well-known locations.
Each habitat we explored had its unique mix of butterfly species. By trickling streams and wet areas, we found Small and Dusky Green Underwings, along with numerous Meadowblues, all part of the Blues family. In alpine meadows, countless white and yellow butterflies from the Yellows and Whites family fluttered (翩翩飞舞) about. More than once, I’d spot a white or yellow butterfly flying across the meadow, and chase after it, only to find myself out of breath in Ladakh’s thin air while the butterfly gracefully flew away. Once, I chased a Butler’s Dwarf butterfly for 15 minutes, managing only a few photos before it disappeared. Another time, I spotted dozens of Clouded Yellow butterflies in an alpine meadow. I spent half an hour chasing them, only for them to fly away each time.
Over the course of multiple visits to Ladakh for butterfly observation, I’ve had the remarkable opportunity to photograph more than 40 “lifers” — species I encountered for the very first time. These discoveries have added valuable knowledge to the field and led to the publication of two research papers in the “Journal of Threatened Taxa.”
In addition to this, І partnered with the Snow Leopard Conservancy to create a small booklet showcasing 50 butterfly species found in Ladakh, with the goal of raising awareness and promoting butterfly watching as a unique and sustainable activity. This initiative aims to inspire both locals and tourists to explore the rich biodiversity of the region, while fostering a greater appreciation for Ladakh’s delicate ecosystems.
24. Why did the author decide to visit Ladakh?
A. To survey butterflies at high altitudes. B. To search for butterfly habitats.
C. To carry out a travel schedule. D. To recommend tourist attractions.
25. Which best describes the author’s chasing butterflies?
A. Challenging and fascinating. B. Scary and exciting.
C. Embarrassing and amusing. D. Dangerous and interesting.
26. What is the author’s purpose of making a booklet?
A. To document insect species in India. B. To encourage eco-aware exploration.
C. To promote local tourism in Ladakh. D. To compare butterfly research findings.
27. What is the best title for the text?
A. Uniqueness of Butterflies B. A Fascinating Journey
C. Biodiversity in Ladakh D. A Fluttering Discovery
【答案】24. A 25. A 26. B 27. D

An organization called Ulum Dalska, located in a small Swedish town called Älvdalen, is on a mission. For decades, members have been working hard to help save a language called Elfdalian, the remains of Old Norse.
Elfdalian, which press secretary Björn Rehnström said was hit by the popularity of Swedish about 100 years ago, sounds nothing like the country’s national language — Swedish. At that point, Elfdalian became stigmatized.
Ulla Schütt, a Ulum Dalska member, saw the impact first-hand while growing up in Älvdalen. “My parents spoke Elfdalian with everyone else around,” Schütt said. “But when they turned to me, they spoke Swedish.” That’s what was spoken in schools. Students were even discouraged from speaking Elfdalian in the classroom.
Now, there’re only about 2,500 speakers left. But people are getting creative in the fight to change that trend. The language is getting a boost on Minecraft. Musicians are releasing new songs with Elfdalian lyrics (歌词). Several children’s books were also translated into Elfdalian. Additionally, Rehnström helps run a popular online group that offers courses in the Elfdalian language, where he posts lessons to the group’s 1,800 global members.
The local government supports the teaching and preservation of Elfdalian. The language is also recognized on an international level. In 2016, it was assigned an ISO language code, which helps the Internet distinguish one language from another.
But the national government of Sweden is a different story. They currently consider Elfdalian a dialect of Swedish, not its own language. Speaking in Elfdalian, Swedish MP Peter Helander recently asked Parliament (国会)why that’s the case. But before Culture Minister Amanda Lind could answer the question, the parliamentary speaker Luca interrupted them both to say that only Swedish may be spoken.
Schütt said every time a language dies — which some research suggests is as often as once every two weeks — it is a sad moment. To her, losing Elfdalian would be an especially tragic loss. Getting Elfdalian recognized as a language by the Swedish government, she added, is key to making sure that it doesn’t disappear.
28. What is the task of Ulum Dalska?
A. To promote a small Swedish town. B. To protect an endangered language.
C. To figure out the remains of Old Norse. D. To teach town residents a new language.
29. What does the underlined word “stigmatized” in paragraph 2 mean?
A. Celebrated. B. Disrespected. C. Documented. D. Reorganized.
30. What attitude does Rehnström probably hold towards Elfdalian?
A. Favorable. B. Tolerant. C. Objective. D. Dismissive.
31. What does Schütt think is essential to the protection of Elfdalian?
A. Releasing more songs in Elfdalian. B. Getting international recognition.
C. Setting up online language groups. D. Seeking the national government’s support.
【答案】28. B 29. B 30. A 31. D
【解析】
【导语】本文是一篇说明文。主要介绍的是Ulum Dalska组织为保护濒危语言Elfdalian语所做出的多种努力和面临的挑战。
【28题详解】
细节理解题。根据第一段“An organization called Ulum Dalska, located in a small Swedish town called Älvdalen, is on a mission. 【30题详解】
推理判断题。根据第四段中的“Additionally, Rehnström helps run a popular online group that offers courses in the Elfdalian language, where he posts lessons to the group’s 1,800 global members.(此外,Rehnström还协助运营一个受欢迎的在线小组,该小组提供Elfdalian语言课程,他会向小组的1800名全球成员发布课程内容。)”可知,Rehnström帮助运行一个受欢迎的在线小组,提供Elfdalian语言课程,并向全球成员发布课程内容,由此可知,他对Elfdalian持支持和积极态度。故选A项。
【31题详解】
细节理解题。根据尾段中的“Getting Elfdalian recognized as a language by the Swedish government, she added, is key to making sure that it doesn’t disappear.(她补充道,让瑞典政府承认Elfdalian是一种语言,是确保它不会消失的关键。)”可知,她认为获得国家政府的支持至关重要。故选D项。

Statistics show that the market value of global Extended Reality (XR) industry has gone beyond $20.4 billion. XR, an umbrella term including technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR), refers to real-and-virtual combined environments and human-machine interactions generated by wearable devices and computer technology. As XR technologies become more mature, they have been gradually applied in more scenarios (场景) that are closely related to the daily life of ordinary people, and have seen new consumer markets in recent years.
The application of XR technologies has made it possible for users to “travel to the past” and “wander in the universe” through virtual trips. An XR experience store in Shenzhen, recently launched a program e for citizens, which involved digital tours to the Jurassic period (侏罗纪) and outer space.
XR technologies have also been integrated into the application scenarios concerning smart tourism projects. XR technologies can help tourist attractions launch systems that enable visitors to better learn about faraway places and remote times in immersive (沉浸式的) scenes, as well as tourist guide systems and other systems that bring wonderful experiences for visitors through VR or AR glasses, mobile apps and browsers. Compared with offline tours, scenarios reproduced by XR technologies can enrich the experiences of users.
China’s Spring Festival Gala last year adopted XR technologies, enabling singers who couldn’t be present at the gala to give performances remotely.
The XR industry is full of possibilities, and the 5G technology is considered a catalyst (催化剂) for further stimulating its potential. Last January, the branch of China Mobile, a major Chinese telecommunications operator in Zhengzhou, built the province’s first “5G+XR” commercial complex in shopping mall.
Industry insiders pointed out that with constant progress being made in the large-scale deployment of the 5G network and its innovative applications, the “5G+XR” model is producing a large number of new application scenarios including social networking, office work, entertainment, exhibition and education, which will provide broad development space for the XR industry.
32. What is paragraph 1 mainly about?
A. The historical development of XR technologies.
B. The XR technologies and their commercial value.
C. The challenges faced by the XR industry in the global market.
D. The comparison between XR and other emerging technologies.
33. How does XR help in daily life?
A. Help visitors better plan their travel routes.
B. Take users to travel in outer space in person.
C. Let singers in different places share the same stage.
D. Make tourist attractions more environmentally friendly.
34. What can be inferred from the passage about the “5G+XR” model?
A. It has been widely used in Zhengzhou.
B. It will lead to more people to fail to socialize.
C. It will create many new opportunities for people.
D. It has made traditional shopping malls disappear.
35. How does the writer introduce the use of XR technologies in the text?
A. By listing data. B. By giving examples.
C. By making comparisons. D. By explaining reasons.
【答案】32. B 33. C 34. C 35. B
【解析】

I still remember that day in high school clearly. It was a math class, and Mr. Smith, our strict yet dedicated teacher, was writing complex equations (方程式) on the blackboard. The problem he presented was extremely challenging.
Most of my classmates were already scratching their heads, trying to work the puzzle out. I, the best student of our class, was concentrating hard, my pen moving swiftly across my notebook as I attempted to work through the problem. Suddenly, I noticed Grace, my deskmate, looking extremely frustrated. She was frowning deeply, her eyes darting back and forth between the blackboard and her paper, clearly struggling to understand.
I felt a pang of sympathy for her. We had been friends since the first year of high school, and I knew how important it was for her to keep up with the math classes as she was aiming for a top score in the upcoming exam. Without hesitation, I leaned over and whispered, “Hey, Grace. Are you okay? This problem is quite tricky, but I think I might have some ideas.”
Grace looked up at me, her face showing a glimmer of hope. “I really don’t get it. I’ve tried every method I can think of, but I just can’t seem to figure it out,” she said disappointedly.
“Let’s take a look together,” I said with a firm smile starting to explain the steps slowly and carefully. I used different colors to highlight the key points, hoping it would make it easier for her to understand. We went through each part of the problem, discussing possible solutions.
As we worked, I could see the confusion gradually fading from Grace’s face. Her eyes lit up when she finally grasped the concept, and she exclaimed, “Oh, I get it now! Thank you so much!” Her gratitude filled my heart with a sense of satisfaction.
Paragraph 1:
However, just as we were about to finish, Mr. Smith suddenly called out “Grace”.

Paragraph 2:
Grace walked back to her seat, happy with pride.

【答案】However, just as we were about to finish, Mr. Smith suddenly called out “Grace”. “Grace, come to the front and solve this problem for the whole class.” Grace’s face turned pale with panic and her eyes filled with worry. “What if I mess up?” she whispered. I squeezed her hand encouragingly. “You can do it, Grace. Just trust yourself.” Grace took a deep breath and walked to the front of the class. She started to write down the steps on the blackboard, her confidence grew. She explained the solution clearly and accurately. When finishing, the whole class burst into applause, and Mr. Smith nodded in approval with a big smile on his face.
Grace walked back to her seat, happy with pride. “I did it! Thanks to you, I was able to solve the problem in front of everyone,” she said after class, her voice filled with excitement. I was doing something meaningful, and that made me feel truly recognized and valued. From that day on, I became more actively involved in helping my classmates. We formed study groups, shared notes, and encouraged each other. And with each success we achieved together, I felt a stronger sense of self-worth. I was making a difference, not only in their academic lives but also in shaping a positive learning environment for everyone.

Industry insiders pointed out that with constant progress being made in the large-scale deployment of the 5G network and its innovative applications the “5G+XR” model is producing a large number of new application scenarios including social networking, office work, entertainment, exhibition and education, which will provide broad development space for the XR industry.

Grace looked up at me her face showing a glimmer of hope.
As we worked I could see the confusion gradually fading from Grace’s face. Her eyes lit up when she finally grasped the concept, and she exclaimed, “Oh, I get it now! Thank you so much!” Her gratitude filled my heart with a sense of satisfaction.
