Last Saturday, we went to Grandpa Jack’s house for a family party. As soon as we sat down on the sofa, we took out 31 phones and started playing games.
Seeing this, Grandpa Jack decided to tell us stories 32 his childhood. He described 33 he built tree houses and flew kites. “We didn’t have phones to play with at that time. But a frisbee (飞盘) 34 make us excited for a whole day. It was one of the most exciting 35 in my childhood,” he said.
“Let’s make some fun memories,” Grandpa suggested 36 . He went to get a frisbee and invited us 37 with him outside. At first, we showed little interest because we knew nothing about it. But we decided to give it 38 try.
It was difficult at the beginning. We kept missing and dropping the frisbee. However, it became more fun than we thought after we 39 for a while. We ran quickly, laughed loudly and shouted happily with each successful catch.
After playing, when we walked back to the house, I felt something warm inside. I realized playing with the family was much 40 than playing on the phone. Grandpa Jack had shown us a different kind of joy, and I knew this was a day I would never forget.

Reading “Aladdin’s Lamp” was like taking a magical journey! When I first opened the book, I was immediately drawn into Aladdin’s world. I mean, who wouldn’t be 41 about a lamp that could realize wishes?
Aladdin, once a poor street guy, discovered a lamp that changes his life 42 . But the luck came with challenges.
Facing the evil magician, he wasn’t afraid. Instead, he used his 43 . Remember when he tricked the magician into going into the cave? That was so 44 ! He knew he couldn’t beat the magician 45 , so he won by brain power. And his courage was just amazing. Even when things got really tough, he didn’t 46 . He kept going, believing he could find a way out.
The genie (精灵) in the lamp was also something I admired. It was because of Aladdin’s kindness that the genie was so willing to help him. Aladdin always treated the people around him well, 47 he didn’t have much himself. And in return, the genie gave him all those wonderful things. It shows that being kind really does 48 .
From this story, I’ve learned that no matter how difficult life gets, we should always be brave. Just like Aladdin, we can’t let fear 49 us. And being kind is like a magic spell. It can bring good things our way. Also, using our brains and being smart can help us solve so many problems. “Aladdin’s Lamp” isn’t just a fun story; it’s a 50 in life.

Do you know that a lot of pollution in the world comes from inside your home—bricks (砖块)? According to the United Nations Environment Program, about 40 percent of human-made CO2 comes from building materials.
What if nature could help us make bricks in a cleaner way?
In fact, scientists are working on making bricks out of mushrooms (蘑菇) right now. For example, Mr. Han Wosten and his team are creating mushroom bricks. They mix mushrooms with agricultural waste, such as straw (稻草).
The mushrooms grow on the straw for about two weeks. Then they can be made into different materials. “If we press it, we can get something like a board,” Wosten said.
Making mushroom bricks creates much less CO2 than materials like bricks. ▲ So we don’t have to worry about them polluting the land when they are thrown away. Mushroom materials can also fix themselves. If the wall in your house is broken, you can re-grow the mushrooms to fix it. NASA scientists even hope to use them to “grow” houses on the moon or Mars. This way, they wouldn’t need to bring heavy building materials into space.
There is still a lot of research to do, though. “It’s very early to say your house will be all made of mushrooms,” said a researcher. Still, progress is being made, and the future of mushroom materials looks bright.
56.What does the underlined word “agricultural” mean?
A.Farming. B.Electronic. C.Living. D.Space.

59.What can we learn from the last paragraph?
A.Mushroom bricks haven’t been widely used yet.
B.Some people are already living in mushroom houses.
C.Most people don’t like the idea of mushroom-made houses.
D.Traditional bricks will soon disappear.
60.What’s the main idea of this passage?
