Today, the country owns over 2,000 varieties of tea, differing in taste, sweet and purpose. Some teas, such as Huang Shan, refresh the sense of taste with their special flavor, while others, such as spicy chai, are added with spices (香料) . China first started exporting tea during the Ming dynasty (1368—1644), and the drink has since come to lead humanity’s drinking habits far beyond Asia. It is the most widely consumed drink on Earth today, aside from water and coffee. In Chinese mythology, tea was first discovered by Chinese Emperor Shennong (“Divine Farmer”) in 737BC, when a soft wind carried some leaves into a pot of boiling water. However, the oldest dependable evidence comes from ancient plant remains found in 2016 in Xi’an and western Xizang, showing that tea was grown at least 2,100 years ago during the Western Handy nasty when it was most likely used as medicine. Generation after generation of tea makers experimented with different brewing (冲泡) techniques, leaves, and ceremonies, resulting in today’s tea culture full of life. There’s no doubt that China’s tea culture has become one of the most popular, diverse, and unique traditions in the world. China is already the world’s largest tea exporter. The inclusion of the country’s traditional tea-making process on the UNESCO list will obviously generate practical benefits for tea makers in the country and across the world as more resources are given to protect and preserve such millennia-old tea culture and technical practices. As additional attention is brought to this traditional technique, the Chinese tea sector will further tap its potential and improve its growth. As one of China’s oldest cultural practices, traditional tea processing techniques show the spirit of modesty (谦逊), peace, and comity (礼让). No matter your preference for green or dark tea, with milk or without, Chinese tea isn’t just brews. Instead, it is a bridge connecting different cultures and peoples. 4. What does the first paragraph mainly tell us? A. Chinese tea has a fresh taste. B. Chinese tea is added with spices. C. Chinese tea has a long history. D. Chinese tea has a rich variety. 5. When did China begin to export tea? A. In about 737 BC. B. Two thousand years ago. C. During the Ming dynasty. D. During the Western Handy nasty. 6. How does the author find about Chinese tea? A. Hopeful. B. Objective. C. Careless. D. Disapproving. 7. What is the best title for the text? A. Chinese Tea Benefits the Globe a Lot B. Chinese Protect and Develop Its Tea Culture C. Chinese Tea Is Included in the UNESCO List D. China Plays a Vital Part in Cultural Diversity 【答案】4. D 5. C 6. A 7. 根据第一段的“Tea originated in China over two thousand years ago. Today, the country owns over 2, 000 varieties of tea, differing in taste, sweet and purpose. Some teas, such as Huang Shan, refresh the sense of taste with their special flavor, while others, such as spicy chai, are added with spices(香料) . (茶起源于两千多年前的中国。如今,该国拥有2000多种茶叶,口味、甜度和用途各不相同。有些茶,如黄山茶,以其独特的味道刷新味觉,而其他茶,如辣茶,则添加了香料。)”可知,本段主要阐述了中国拥有超过2000种不同口味、香气和用途的茶叶。故选D。 【5题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段的第一句“China first started exporting tea during the Ming dynasty(1368—1644), and the drink has since come to lead humanity’s drinking habits far beyond Asia. (中国在明朝(1368-1644)期间首次开始出口茶叶,从那以后,这种饮料就引领了人类的饮酒习惯,远远超出了亚洲。)”可知中国在明朝开始出口茶叶的,故选C。 【6题详解】 推理判断题。根据全文,尤其是第五段的“As additional attention is brought to this traditional technique, the Chinese tea sector will further tap its potential and improve its growth. (随着对这一传统技术的更多关注,中国茶叶行业将进一步挖掘其潜力并改善其增长。)”可知,作者认为中国茶叶行业有其潜力,必将不断增长。即对其未来充满希望。故选A。 根据全文,尤其是最后一段“As one of China’s oldest cultural practices, traditional tea processing techniques show the spirit of modesty (谦逊), peace, and comity (礼让). (作为中国最古老的文化习俗之一,传统的茶叶加工工艺表现出谦虚、和平和礼让的精神。无论你喜欢绿茶还是红茶,加奶还是不加奶,中国茶都不仅仅是冲泡的。相反,它是一座连接不同文化和民族的桥梁。)”可知,本文主要阐述中国茶是最古老的文化习俗之一,其传统的制茶工艺体现了谦逊、和谐和礼让的精神。它是一座连接不同文化和民族的桥梁。故选B。 C What kinds of rooms are your favorite spots for studying? We are going to guess that they are probably not painted bright red or yellow. But maybe they should be. Imagine. You are suddenly asked to prepare for an exam. You have two rooms to choose from. One is a pale blue, and the other is a bright red. Which one do you settle into for study? Is one going to get your brain fired up for learning, or let you relax into a best state of concentration? According to researchers at Curtin University in Australia, it might be the best to camp out in the bright red room when you are looking to store information. It might sound strange, since we often think of pale rooms — soft blues or light greens — as relaxing, or even reassuring And they seem to be: The Curtin University study showed that pale colors made participants feel more relaxed and calm, while bright colors increased heart rate. But calming and relaxing, it turns out, may not always be the best environment for deep concentration or knowledge gaining. Reading comprehension (阅读理解) was much better in the bright rooms than in the paler rooms. Although participants reported that they generally preferred the pale rooms to study in as an approach to relax into work, the researchers saw just the opposite — that the bright-colored rooms seemed to lead to greater concentration. While this might seem only surprising, the finding gets into a rather controversial area of psychological (心理学的) study. The Yerkes-Dodson Law says that a little bit of stress is good for achieving best performance, while too much stress negatively affects it. The higher heart rate and the reports of the bright colors creating a heavy atmosphere might just suggest that a little stress was good for the brain. 8. What is the common idea mentioned in the first paragraph? A. Few people like bright red or yellow. B. Pale colors are connected with good grades. C. Light-colored rooms make you feel nervous. D. Bright-colored rooms are not good for studying. 9. What might directly affect the research results according to Paragraph 2? A. Participants’ preferences in colors. B. How participants reacted to colors. C. Time participants spent in the rooms. D. What participants read in the rooms. 10. What can be concluded from the study by Curtin University? A. Most people know how to make use of colors. B. Stress is needed when you want to concentrate. C. The higher the stress, the better your performance. D. Being relaxed is very important to people studying. 11. What’s the main idea of the text? A. Findings about people’s favourite room colors. B. Bright-colored rooms can create a heavy atmosphere. C. Room colors can affect one’s academic performance. D. Light-colored rooms help people feel relaxed into work. D 9. B 10. B 11. 根据第一段第一、二句话“What kinds of rooms are your favorite spots for studying? We are going to guess that they are probably not painted bright red or yellow.(什么样的房间是你最喜欢的学习场所?我们将猜测它们可能没有被涂成鲜红色或黄色)”可推知,人们普遍的观点是色彩明亮的房间不利于学习。故选D。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段第三句话“And they seem to be: The Curtin University study showed that pale colors made participants feel more relaxed and calm, while bright colors increased heart rate.(事实似乎是这样的:柯廷大学的研究表明,苍白的颜色使参与者感到更放松和平静,而明亮的颜色则增加了心率)”可知,直接影响研究结果的是参与者对颜色的反应。 根据第二段最后一句话“Although participants reported that they generally preferred the pale rooms to study in as an approach to relax into work, the researchers saw just the opposite — that the bright-colored rooms seemed to lead to greater concentration.(尽管参与者报告说,他们通常更喜欢在浅色的房间里学习,以此作为放松工作的一种方式,但研究人员看到的恰恰相反——明亮的房间似乎能让人更集中注意力)”可知,色彩明亮的房间可以制造适当的压力,让人们学习时能够更加集中注意力。 根据文章第一段第一句“What kinds of rooms are your favorite spots for studying?.(什么样的房间是你最喜欢的学习场所?)” D The term “liberal bubble” (自由泡沫) suggests that people usually surround themselves with those who hold similar opinions to them. Think about your own social media platforms (社交媒体平台)—who your Facebook friends are, and who you follow on Instagram and Twitter. You probably share a lot of opinions with most, if not all, of them. However, if you’re used to everyone agreeing with you all the time, it becomes difficult to have a good conversation with someone who disagrees. The world is full of experiences, realities, and history. It would be naive (幼稚的) to believe that only your views are correct. We should always make space for the possibility that someone who looks different might have something valuable to offer the world. Carefully listening and being curious about different perspectives, in most cases, can help build bridges instead of walls. We all benefit when we listen carefully—even if we finally conclude that we disagree. The world we live in is increasingly divided, especially on social media, which means that for most, the only opinions we hear are ones that agree with our own thoughts. So how can we have productive discussions with people who think differently than us? First, follow people who don’t look like you on social media.Follow people with different skills. Follow people of many different nationalities. Just reading their day-to-day thoughts, in addition to seeing their bigger moments, will help you learn about worlds you didn’t even know. It’ll help you understand where people are coming from when they do or say something you might push back on at the beginning. As far as having productive discussions, don’t try to win others over to your side. Just listen to each other. Respect your differences. Another way is to join a club or organization where many people have different views and are willing to debate with love. 12. What are people very likely to do when communicating on the Internet? A. Ignore views that disagree with theirs. B. Fall into the trap of poor conflicting opinions. C. Follow various friends on different platforms. D. Share their opinions with people who disagree. 13. What is mainly discussed in Paragraph 2? A How to make sure your views are correct. B. The reasons why people have different views. C. The importance of being exposed to different views. D. How to communicate with people who disagree. 14. What does a productive discussion mean according to the text? A. The two sides always reach an agreement. B. The other finally agrees with your thoughts. C. You discuss with people who are wiser than you. D. You get valuable information during the discussion. 15. What does the text suggest people do about having productive discussions? A. Keep away from social media. B. Get involved in others’ daily lives. C. Avoid expressing your own opinions. D. Realize why people behave in a certain way. A 13. C 14. D 15. 根据第一段的“The term “liberal bubble” (自由泡沫) suggests that people usually surround themselves with those who hold similar opinions to them.(“自由泡沫”一词表明,人们身边通常围绕着与自己观点相似的人)”根据第一段“You probably share a lot of opinions with most, if not all, of them.”(你可能会和他们中的大多数人(如果不是全部的话)分享很多观点。) 故选A。 根据第二段的“We should always make space for the possibility that someone who looks different might have something valuable to offer the world. Carefully listening and being curious about different perspectives, in most cases, can help build bridges instead of walls. We all benefit when we listen carefully—even if we finally conclude that we disagree.(我们应该总是为这样的可能性留出空间:那些看起来与众不同的人可能会给这个世界带来一些有价值的东西。仔细倾听,对不同的观点保持好奇,在大多数情况下,可以帮助建立桥梁而不是墙。当我们仔细倾听时,我们都会受益,即使我们最后得出的结论是我们不同意。)”可知,本段主要讨论了倾听不同观点的益处,强调了接触不同观点的重要性。故选C。 【14题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段的“As far as having productive discussions, don’t try to win others over to your side. Just listen to each other. Respect your differences.(就富有成效的讨论而言,不要试图把别人争取到你这一边。互相倾听。尊重你的差异。)”可知,所谓的富有成效的讨论指的就是在讨论的过程中仔细倾听对方不同的观点,尊重不同,不在乎讨论的结果。也就是说,要在讨论中得到有价值的新的信息。故选D。 【15题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段的“It’ll help you understand where people are coming from when they do or say something you might push back on at the beginning.(这将帮助你了解当人们做或说一些你可能会在一开始反驳的事情时人们的出发点。)” Cultural heritage is an essential part of our identity, history and traditions. These days he found everything boring, nothing excited him. One day he was lying in his room as usual. After a while he felt it was rather hot in his room. Though he did not want to leave his room, he had to. Unwillingly, he left his room and came to the living room which was slightly cool as it had two huge windows. His young brother was playing with his friend. They were rolling on the floor. He was looking out for the TV remote, but couldn't find it. He got up and searched for it everywhere, but the remote was nowhere. He looked at his brother who was still lying on the floor playing. He asked him, “Where is the remote?” “Under the sofa, ” his brother yelled. He tried to look through, but it was dark. He put his hand under the sofa. He touched something, grabbed it and took his hand out. Oh! It was a snake in his hand! After seeing that his brother started to cry, “Snake, snake!” Mom came as soon as she heard his shouting. She too was horrified to see a snake. She was so scared that she even couldn't speak a word. Two kids were trying to hide into each other's back. “What an old trick!” Roman thought and threw it to the kids. As the snake landed on the floor near to the kids, it started moving from the left side to the right. Only then did John realize that the snake was real, not a toy. He threw the snake to the kids because he thought it was a fake snake and the kids were playing some tricks. This time Mom almost got a heart attack. Now he was scared too. The snake was only 10 meters away from the kids and was staring at the kids. They even couldn't call a rescue team. There might be some deadly damage before their arrival. There was not much time to think. It was the time for a quick action. Paragraph 1: As John was farther from the snake, he jumped to the window and grabbed the curtain. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: After the rescue team caught and took away the snake, everyone went inside the home. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Paragraph 1: As John was farther from the snake, he jumped to the window and grabbed the curtain. He pulled it so hard that the curtain was torn off immediately. Without hesitation, he threw the curtain at the moving snake and covered it. Then he grabbed the two extremely frightened kids' arms and pushed them out of the room. The moment the kids went out, they started screaming. John went inside the room again and brought his mom out, who was standing still, frozen with fear. Soon after that, he shut the door and called the rescue team. Paragraph 2: After the rescue team caught and took away the snake, everyone went inside the home. Seeing the two kids were still scared, John felt guilty and even angry with himself. He went up to the kids, patting them on the head and said, “I'm sorry. I mistook it for a fake one.” After a short pause, he asked in an excited voice, “Shall we play some game together now?” The kids burst into a smile. “What a thrilling day!” John texted his friend later that day. 词汇激活 行为类 关闭:shut/close 走进:go inside/get into 看见:see/spot 情绪类 害怕的:frightened/scared/fearful 生气的:angry/mad 【点睛】[高分句型1] He pulled it so hard that the curtain was torn off immediately. China Plays a Vital Part in Cultural Diversity C What kinds of rooms are your favorite spots for studying? C. The higher the stress the better your performance. D The term “liberal bubble” (自由泡沫) suggests that people usually surround themselves with those who hold similar opinions to them. A. How to make sure your views are correct. Cultural heritage is an essential part of our identity, history and traditions. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
