Are you worried about past mistakes? Did you let your friends down? Thinking too much about these things can make us feel worried and tired. Cooking can help improve mental health (心理健康) by making people feel in control and happy again.
Julie Ohana, a social worker, mixes her love for cooking with talk therapy (谈话疗法). She believes the kitchen can bring change to people’s lives. “The kitchen provides a chance for people to recognize opportunities for change,” said Ohana.
Talk therapy is like talking to a special friend who listens well. You can share your feelings, thoughts, and problems. This friend gives advice to help you feel happier and more confident. It is a safe and helpful way to deal with things that bother you.
Ohana found that working in the kitchen can speed up the process. “Cooking gives quick happiness as you follow the steps,” she added. She uses cooking to help people build confidence and relax. She starts by learning about what food people like, their cooking skills, and any allergies (过敏). Then, they prepare dishes together.
Ohana thinks it’s important to focus on the cooking process. Like art or music therapy, cooking is about the process, not just the result. She believes making meals while being completely focused is a special and important experience.
19.What does Julie Ohana mix with cooking to help people?
A.Exercise. B.Talk. C.Music. D.Art.
20.What does the word “bother” most likely mean in the passage?
A.Help. B.Enjoy. C.Support. D.Trouble.
21.What can be inferred (推断) about cooking according to Ohana?
A.It helps people focus and feel better. B.It is best done alone.
C.It is only about making delicious food. D.It needs special skills.
22.What is the best title for the passage?
A.The Joy of Cooking Alone. B.How to Cook Perfect Meals.
C.Cooking as a Way to Help. D.The History of Talk Therapy.

①Cloisonne, or jingtailan in Chinese, is a special way of creating designs on metal. Lan means “blue” in Chinese, and jingtailan pieces often have a beautiful dark blue as the main color.
②Usually, making cloisonne needs many steps—creating a metal base, using metal strips (条) to create a design, filling the spaces with colored powders (粉末), and then firing. Each step needs cloisonne makers to be very careful and creative.
③Cloisonne appeared in China in the late 13th century. It became popular during the time of Emperor Jingtai in the Ming Dynasty. This gave its name of jingtailan. In 2006, cloisonne making was added to China’s national intangible cultural heritage (非物质文化遗产) list.
④Here is a story about two cloisonne masters. Several years ago, Li Jinglong and Guan Dian visited the Palace Museum in Beijing. There, they fell in love with cloisonne handcrafts (手工艺品). After that, they decided to open a workshop to let more people know about Chinese-style cloisonne. This led them to start Handcraft Addicted. People can make their own cloisonne pieces there. Since 2018, they have opened three workshops in Beijing.
⑤The whole process of making cloisonne is very hard, but Li and Guan made it easier. People only need to bend (把……弄弯) thin metal wires (金属丝) into shapes they like and use colored powders to fill the spaces.
⑥Chang Yunqi has been going to Handcraft Addicted in her free time for about five years. “The thin metal wires look like the pencil lines I draw on canvas (画布). It is challenging but also interesting,” she said.
⑦Li and Guan enjoy teaching people how to make traditional cloisonne. “We have many guests like Chang who come to our workshop weekly, not only to create art but also to get away from their busy lives,” said Li.
⑧As more and more people learn about this ancient craft, jingtailan has been a symbol of Chinese cultural heritage. Jingtailan workshops and shows held around the world serve as a bridge, connecting people from different countries.
23.What does the writer think of the cloisonne makers?
A.Colorful and thankful. B.Easy but busy.
C.Creative and careful. D.Challenging but interesting.
24.What does the underlined word “they” refer to?
A.Li Jinglong and Guan Dian. B.Chinese-style cloisonne pieces.
C.The masters from the Palace Museum. D.The people making cloisonne pieces.
25.How do Li Jinglong and Guan Dian tell they like teaching people to make cloisonne?
A.By telling a story about Chang Yungi in their workshop.
B.By showing the steps for making cloisonne handcrafts.
C.By giving an example of a guest’s coming to the workshop.
D.By describing what the guests in the workshop look like.
26.Which of the following shows the structure of this passage?
A. B.

At the year’s Boao Forum for Asia (博鳌亚洲论坛), experts expressed excitement about the potential (潜力) of AI. Zhang Keke, director of the Macau Institute of Space Technology and Application, said that Mars could become a planet which is suitable for humans to live on with the help of AI.
“Mars used to have water and an environment just like the earth. I believe in the future humans could improve the environment on Mars through AI technology, making it have air and water again, so that humans can live there,” Zhang said. “It may not be science fiction. If this happens, it will solve many troubles faced by humans, such as the shortage of land. That is why humans have been exploring the moon and other planets for many years.”
All kinds of ideas have been come up with by many scientists to recreate the magnetic field (磁场) of Mars. When there is a magnetic field, it acts like an umbrella and stops solar wind, allowing the environment to become suitable for the development of water, air and human life.
Actually, China is already on this way. Tianwen-1 probe landed on Mars as early as 2021. This was the first time that China has carried out an exploration of the magnetic field on Mars.
“China’s exploring of Mars will be further sped up with the development of AI,” Zhang said. “In 2028, China will launch a second spacecraft called Tianwen-3, which will take samples (样本) from Mars and bring them back to the earth. So I feel that with powerful tools like AI and machine learning methods, humans will greatly increase the speed of exploration of resources on Mars, and especially on the moon, in the future.”
27.In Zhang’s opinion, what is the main purpose of using AI in Mars exploration?
A.To find life on Mars.
B.To bring back water from Mars.
C.To achieve the goal of landing on Mars.
D.To create an earth-like living environment.
28.Why do we need to recreate the magnetic field of Mars?
A.It can create more land.
B.It can collect more sunlight.
C.It can reduce the bad weather.
D.It can help humans live on Mars.
29.What’s Zhang’s attitude towards AI in space exploration?
A.Shocked. B.Worried. C.Confident. D.Doubtful.
30.What’s the main idea of the passage?
A.AI shows science fiction. B.AI will help humans explore Mars.
C.Mars is suitable for humans. D.Humans will recreate the magnetic field.
第二节 任务型阅读(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面材料,从方框中所给的 A-E五个选项中选出正确选项(其中一项是多余 选项),将其序号填入第31 — 34小题,并回答第35小题。
Did you know that when you are kind to others, it’s good for your own well-being too. Even small acts of kindness can give your confidence a boost and help you feel more connected to people around you.
Know what kindness really means.
31 It could be a small, simple act, like holding a door open, or something that takes time and effort, like making a playlist for your friend. Kindness isn’t just something you do, but also means being caring about other people’s feelings.
32
Scientists have discovered that when you’re kind to someone, your body is filled with feel good chemicals (化学物质) that make you feel calmer, healthier and happier. An act of kindness can boost feelings of confidence and happiness. When you volunteer for charity or join a litter-pick, for example, you feel you are part of a community. 33 kindness is also something that flows outwards, like ripples in a pond. So if you do a good deed for someone, they might be inspired to do the same. Acts of kindness have the potential to make the world a happier place.
Bring more kindness into your life.
Studies show that kindness is something that we learn and get better at with practice. 34 Try to do something you enjoy, while remembering that you’re doing it for others, and see if you can turn kindness into a habit. Don’t forget to show kindness to yourself too. Try to find ways to be kind to yourself, like reading a book or listening to your favorite song. Use kind words when describing yourself or the things you have done that day.
A.So start with something simple and easy.
B.Kindness means doing something thoughtful or generous for others.
C. So if you are kind to others, they will be kind to you.
D.Understanding kindness can bring a lot of good to you.
E. This can make you feel better about yourself and build friendships.
5. Is kindness necessary in our daily life? List one of the acts of kindness you did in your past life.

C.The masters from the Palace Museum. D.The people making cloisonne pieces.
25.How do Li Jinglong and Guan Dian tell they like teaching people to make cloisonne?
A.By telling a story about Chang Yungi in their workshop.

C.By giving an example of a guest’s coming to the workshop.
D.By describing what the guests in the workshop look like.

【参考范文】
In my opinion, junior high school students can use AI technology in learning.
Firstly, it helps us get rich learning resources. We can access various materials like e-books and online courses easily. Secondly, when we have questions, AI can provide quick help, saving a lot of time. Additionally, AI-powered language learning tools can improve our oral English through real-time pronunciation correction.
Though AI technology can be used in learning, I think we mustn’t rely on it too much. We should use AI as a tool to assist learning, not a replacement for our own thinking. Only in this way can we make good use of AI in our studies.
