听第10段材料,回答第17至20题。
Text 10
W:I think working in Austria is quite different from working in the U. K. Um, I've done both. When I started off working in an office in Austria, I found the office where I worked was exactly like the one in my hometown in Germany. The journey to work was just five minutes' walk down the road. Now I work in London and I spend an hour cycling or fortyfive minutes on the underground. That actually takes two hours off your day. However, what I really like about working in the U.K.is that everything starts late. We're starting to work at nine, but in Austria you've got to be there by eight o'clock. So you need to get up at seven. If you want to do some sports before work, you're getting up at six. That's why I found myself being terribly tired when I was in Austria.
答案 1-5 ABCBA 5-10 ABABA

第四部分 写作
第一节
【参考范文】
My name is Li Hua. I'm willing to serve as a volunteer of the Education Fair. Below is my personal profile.
I'm a high school student. I'm interested in science subjects at school and enjoy doing sports after school. My favorite sports include swimming, jogging and playing basketball.
I'm an outgoing person who enjoys team work. When I was fourteen, I joined in a summer camp and toured some cities in the USA, visiting many famous universities. This experience opened a window for me to see the world and experience a different culture. Also it helped me open “my mouth” to speak English bravely. That's why I believe I can help in the fair.
第二节
【参考范文】
As they came in my direction, I put on my brightest and happiest smile.Nervous as I felt, I did my best to keep myself calm and packed bread, salad and meat to those in need. Upon noticing my hurried and trembling hands, the lady next to me smilingly told me that I should first organize these people to queue up and then hand out salad one by one. I immediately sprang into action and the passing time witnessed the smooth process of this event. Every one of them including those who looked very dangerous murmured in a cheering voice “Thank you” and bowed to me sincerely, which brought warmth straight into my heart. It was not until the night wiped out the last ray of sun that we finished our community service for the homeless.
I was so happy that I had earned my service hours in this way.I was aware that my time spent at the soup kitchen was really a rewarding, enriching and lifechanging experience. Not only did I clear my previous prejudice against those who deserved compassion and support, but also I served the people who were less fortunate than me. In the meanwhile, I suddenly came to realize that not everyone was blessed with fortune and born to be wealthy, and therefore, we should always keep grateful for what life blessed us with. I now felt it a duty to do what I could for them. Since that day, I have spared more time in offering my service opportunity in dining halls, in the streets, in front of grocery stores.

(2024·连云港高二联考)When most people think of drones (无人机), they think of technology and fun. Safe to say, few people would think about farming. However, a group of students from York College of Pennsylvania have been building a drone that will not only help local farmers but the environment, as well.
Samantha Gotwalt and Blayde Reich, two senior Mechanical Engineering majors at York College in the group, both found the work to be quite fascinating. According to Samantha, the idea came from a York College professor, who has worked with drones, and wanted to get students involved with a project beneficial to the community. “We really want to help farming and agriculture. It's superimportant to America and our economy,” Blayde says. “We want to help the smaller farmers, and one of the perks is not having to spend their money on fertilizer and pesticides (杀虫剂).”
The idea is to design and build a drone that will take video imagery of the fields to determine what is needed to produce the best crop, while saving money and sparing the environment by reducing pollutants in the water runoff. Ideally, that data gained will help the farmers better determine what chemicals they need—and what they don't.
However, finding the right equipment for the project was a challenge, starting with what drone the team would design for this particular usage. Samantha says she researched durability and control of drones to help make the proper determination.
“We are flying over the field and we want to have enough efficiency and go relatively slow enough that our pictures turn out well and fly low enough that it is not using up all of its power,” she says. “The fields are a couple hundred acres(英亩), so you need your drone to be able to fly the length of that field.”
Blayde says the team continues to learn a great deal of information that will help the farmers and the environment.
24.What does the underlined word “perks” in paragraph 2 refer to?
A.Challenges. B.Features. C.Benefits. D.Solutions.
25.What particular usage is the drone designed for?
A.Spreading proper quantities of pesticides. B.Helping to determine the chemicals needed.
C.Assisting to monitor the state of crops. D.Measuring the areas of the fields.
26.What technical issue of the drone shall be tackled?
A.Its camera capacity. B.Its data collection ability.
C.Its durability and control. D.Its material and efficiency.
27.What can best describe the students?
A.Disciplined and realistic. B.Experienced and reliable.
C.Humble and reserved. D.Responsible and creative.

(2025·玉溪开学考试)People have understood that kindness is good for the person who receives help. For example, when we give food to a hungry person, he is blessed. However, scientists have recently begun to study the effect kindness has on the person giving it. What they have found is that doing good is good for the doer. Acts of kindness can improve health, help a person reach goals and even add years to a person's life.
The first study to show the connection between doing good and living a long life was a study on aging. Beginning in 1956, scientists studied a group of married mothers for 30 years. They thought the women with the most children would die first. But the number of children a woman had did not matter. Wealth did not matter. Education did not matter. What did matter was whether they volunteered. Women that volunteered had fewer diseases during their life.
Many other studies have found the same positive effects. Helping other people improves longterm health. The gains are the same for the men, women, old people and the young. Those who volunteered had fewer serious diseases than those who did not volunteer. This included diseases such as heart attack, cancer and stroke.
Scientists are researching many possible causes. One possible cause is an increase and antibodies (抗体), which help fight against disease. One study showed the body produces more antibodies after an act of kindness. This increase in antibodies can last nearly an hour after one act of kindness is finished.
Another one is an increase in chemical that fights the effects of stress from life. Scientists have found a link between being kind to people and an increase in the chemical oxytocin (催产素). Oxytocin is a chemical produced in the brain. It reduces many of the harmful chemicals the body produces under stress.
28.What did the study in paragraph 2 show?
A.Diseases age people fast. B.Doing good is good for one's health.
C.Women with more kids die earlier. D.A long marriage leads to a long life.
29.What can we infer about antibodies from paragraph 4?
A.More antibodies may not be good. B.They help people reduce pressure.
C.They increase with one's kind acts. D.The more antibodies, the more oxytocin.
30.How does the author develop the last two paragraphs?
A.By explaining the causes. B.By making comparisons.
C.By introducing a method. D.By describing a chemical.
31.What does the underlined word “It” probably refer to?
A.Oxytocin. B.The brain. C.Stress. D.Helping others.

I need to do something in my community (社区) in order to complete the community service hours required to graduate from high school. Some of my friends had signed up to spend time at a soup kitchen, so I did, too. It seemed like a good thing to do.
I thought that we would just be passing our dinners to those in need, but I found out we would be doing everything from preparing to serving the dinner. We began preparing the food, from mixing salad dressing to separating frozen meat. Much still needed to be done before dinner was served, but already outside the building many homeless people were gathering. It wasn't until a couple of hours later that we opened the doors and began serving dinner.
As the line of people came toward me, I got a little scared. I'd come face to face with the homeless:How should I act? How would they treat me? Would they hate me for having more than they did? While some of the people looked very friendly, some of them looked so dangerous, I didn't have too much time to worry about it. I was assigned (分配) to serve the salad with the lady next to me. She smiled at me and said if I needed help, she'd be right there, which I found quite comforting.
I had never seen so many people wanting food. They were of all ages and nationalities. Most of them wore clothes that were torn and dirty. Some looked like they had totally given up on life, while others seemed to be making the best of the situation, smiling and joking. Some were better off than others, but they all needed a good meal and a warm place to eat. It saddened me to think of how many people there were who didn't have a place to call home and the only food they got came from a soup kitchen.
