Alisha is a 12-year -old girl and she feels upset these days. She doesn’t want to go to school or talk with anyone else. That’s probably because she was suffering the school bully (校园欺凌). Just like Alisha, many young Chinese students are having the same problems. They may feel lonely and worried. What’s worse, they may even want to kill themselves to get away from the bad situation.
School bully often happens between students aged from 8 to 18 in their daily life. And it has become a serious social problem all over the country. School bullies may come in many different reasons: they may happen just because someone is searching for “fresh and new” feelings; or THEY may just come out of no reasons; or big guys just want to do it.
After a large number of reports and a careful research on the further reasons of school bully, many experts say that being short of (缺乏) parents’ love and guidance may be the main cause for this social problem.
How can we deal with school bully? Many other developed countries, including the US and the UK, have made very strict laws to stop school bully. After reported by the local TVs and radios, three Chinese girls, studying in the US, who bullied one of their classmates very seriously, have paid an enormous (巨大的) price for their behavior.

Li Ziqi is back! After a break of more than three years, one of China’s most popular influencers(网红)finally returned on November 12 , 2024.
Li came back with two new videos. One tells how she changed a shed(棚子)into a cloakroom(衣帽间),and the other shows how she used the intangible cultural heritage(非物质文化遗产)of Chinese lacquerware techniques(漆器工艺)to make wardrobe(衣橱)doors. These videos quickly went viral on social media. By November 22, her lacquerware video had 140 million views on Sina Weibo.
Fans from around the world showed their excitement for her return. "I've missed you and your grandma. So glad you came back, so happy," wrote one fan on YouTube.
"I went to more than 20 provinces and visited over 100 intangible cultural heritage inheritors (继承人),”Li told Xinhua about the past three years. She talked with them, studied their skills and learned the stories behind their work. Now, she wants to share their stories with the world through her videos.
Although many vloggers (视频博主) have tried to copy Li’s style during her absence, none have reached her level of popularity. Why do people still like her so much even though she was away for over three years?
One key reason is that her video quality is very high. Her video not only shows the production process of traditional Chinese cuisine (菜肴) and handicrafts (手工艺品), but also shows the wisdom of nature and history. She will spend several months making a video. Her pursuit of perfection is difficult for many video bloggers to copy.
The other reason is that many of them want to live a simple and slow life. Li's videos are healing in today's noisy and fast-paced world. This desire is timeless, just like people's love for Henry David Thoreau's book Walden(《瓦尔登湖》),which also talks about living simply in nature.
28.How did Li Ziqi return after a break of over three years?
A.By posting two new videos online.
B.By working together with other influencers.
C.By showing her wardrobe with different clothing.
D.By teaching people how to make a cloakroom.

B.She learned Chinese traditional skills.

30. Why do so many people like Li Ziqi according to the text?
A. Because she teaches them many useful skills.
B.Because she makes them think of Walden.
C.Because she is beautiful and hard-working.
D.Because they like her slow and simple life and perfect videos.
31. According to the text, what do Li Ziqi's videos mean to her viewers?
A. A longing for a simpler life.
B. A love for Chinese handicrafts.
C. An escape from modern technology.
D. A fascination with Chinese history.

On January 20, 2025, a Chinese tech company
named DeepSeek made a new AI called DeepSeek-R1.
This smart program can solve math problems, write
code (代码),and answer questions like top models
such as OpenAI's GPT-4o, but it costs much less to
build. The team spent only $5.58 million (1/70 of OpenAI's cost) and used 2,048 computer chips(计算机芯片)for two months. This shows that good ideas can beat big money.
DeepSeek-R1 learns by trying many times and getting better, like how students practice math. Other AIs need many prepared examples, but R1 improves by itself. For example, in a global math test, it got 79. 8% right, slightly higher than OpenAI's model. A simple version of R1 can even run on low-cost computers, helping schools and small companies.
DeepSeek-R1 is free to use and change. On its first day online, over 19,000 programmers worldwide started projects to study it. A German scientist said experiments with R1 cost $ 10 instead of $ 300 with other AIs. Even Meta ( a famous U.S. tech company ) top scientist said,“This kind of free AI could change the world."
U.S.tech companies are worried. Meta plans to spend $65 billion more on AI research. Experts say China is catching up fast. A report in Nature magazine called R1 a "big step forward", showing that smart ideas beat expensive tools.
As a DeepSeek engineer said,"We want AI to be a friend, not something only rich people can use." With R1, China shows the world that great things come from new ideas and hard work, not just money.
32. How much did it cost to build DeepSeek-R1?
A.$ 5.58 million. B.$ 65 billion. C.$ 10. D.$ 300.
33. What does "improves by itself" mean in the article?
A. It needs programmers to fix mistakes. B.It expresses answers from other AIs.
C. It becomes better through practice. D. It only works with expensive tools.
34. Why did Meta plan to spend more money on AI research?
A.To help Chinese companies.
B.To compete with DeepSeek-R1.
C. To build more computer chips.
D.To hire German scientists.
35. What is the main purpose of the article?
A. To compare Chinese and American AI technologies.
B. To encourage students to become programmers.
C. To explain how computer chips work.
D. To introduce a low-cost AI model from China.
