For many years, Xu Qiuping missed her old teaching desk. In 2021, her dream of becoming a teacher again came true. She got a job as a volunteer teacher for two years at Jiefang Primary School in Xinning County, Hunan Province.
In January, 2021, Xu learned that a primary school in Hunan needed teachers. Without thinking twice, the then 57-year-old woman phoned the school, saying that she wanted to give it a try.
