Die clicks a button and watches as her neighborhood is flooded. The shorelines are first to go. __1__ By the time seawater reaches the senior center, it has flooded streets and over a dozen brick homes. Die moves her head up and down, side to side, taking in the simulated (仿真的) view. This is what could happen to Turner Station, a historic African American community southeast of Baltimore, as sea levels rise.
Climate change presents many challenges to coastal communities and to those trying to prepare for its impacts, but one of the most basic is also one of the most bothersome: __2__ Communicating the realness and immediacy (紧迫) of the climate threat is hugely important to climate researchers and those aiming to cut down what it causes. But it's also the most important to communities faced with coming changes that are already unavoidable. __3__ That's why Die and other residents are being directed to sit in metal chairs, put on virtual (模拟) reality headsets and watch their homes be flooded.
__4__ It has partnered (合作) with the Port of Baltimore, a few nonprofits and a local landscape architecture firm to adopt (采用) a range of tools and ways to communicate climate change to the public, because every person is different and every place is different.
The virtual reality program is only the most recent, and perhaps the most effective step. __5__ But tricking people is not the goal of the sea level rise simulation (模拟) being used at Turner Station, says James, one of the program's developers. “The goal,” he says, “is to start a conversation and help folks visualize (想象) the impacts of climate change and the solutions, and also discuss the tradeoffs between them.”
A.Then, the baseball fields at Fleming Park.
B.Virtual reality is the product of the rapid development of it.
C.These projects need public support and input.
D.Does the community depend on the shipping industry for its survival?
E.How do you show people and convince them of a possible future?
F.Virtual reality is an immersive experience (身临其境的体验) that can trick the human brain into thinking it's real.
G.Turner Station, a community which gets flooded easily, is trying to prepare.

1.A 根据上文“Die clicks a button and watches as her neighborhood is flooded. The shorelines are first to go.(Die单击按钮,看着她的社区被洪水淹没。海岸线是第一个被摧毁的。)”可知,A项(然后是弗莱明公园的棒球场。)承接上文,说明洪水在摧毁海岸线之后,又毁了棒球场。故选A。
2.E 根据上文“Climate change presents many challenges ... one of the most basic is also one of the most bothersome (气候变化给沿海社区和那些设法为其影响而做着准备的人带来了许多挑战,但其中最重要的也是最麻烦的一项)”可知,关键词为“many challenges”,E项(你如何向人们展示并说服他们相信一个可能的未来?)
3.C 根据下文“That's why Die ... watch their homes be flooded.(这就是为什么Die和其他居民被要求坐在金属椅子上,戴上模拟现实耳机,观看着家园被洪水淹没。)”
5.F 根据下文“But tricking people is not the goal ... one of the program's developers.(但是欺骗人不是在特纳站使用海平面上升模拟场景的目的,一个程序的开发人员詹姆斯说。)” 与下文衔接紧密,且F项中的“trick the human brain”与下文中的“tricking people”一致。故选F。

Tommy and Mickle walked along the beach, looking for an adventure. They joked that some day they would find a talking fish or a mermaid or a bottle with a treasure map inside. So far they had only found shells and rocks and seaweed. Today was different though. The boys felt excited.
Sea crabs scampered on the rocks, up one side and down the other. They were quick and lively. The tide didn't seem to ever wash them away. Then Tommy saw a fish. It was trapped on the beach, just flopping around.
“Can it talk?” Mickle asked.
“It looks like any other fish,” Tommy said. He picked it up gently and carried it to the water. “Do you think it will grant us any wishes?” Mickle laughed.
The boys watched as the silver fish sped off through the water. “No. Maybe next time”, Tommy grinned.
As the two friends walked farther down the beach they came upon a bottle. It was green with a cork in the mouth.
“Our luck will change. Does it have a map or a genie inside?” Mickle joked.
Mickle reached down and picked up the bottle. He rubbed it. Nothing happened. He pulled on the cork. Nothing happened. He shook it. Nothing happened.
“Try the cork again. I bet the genie is waiting for us to release him. Or we'll find a treasure map and have a real adventure,” Tommy exclaimed.
Mickle tugged again on the cork. He wiggled it back and forth. He twisted it around and around. Finally it popped out without breaking. Mickle shook the bottle. Nothing came out. Looking inside he couldn't see anything. Tommy looked too and shook his head. Empty.
“It's just an old wine bottle,” Tommy complained. He grabbed the bottle and tossed it back onto the sand.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;

The bottle hit a rock and shattered into many pieces. Both Tommy and Mickle gasped as they saw a long, silver key on the ground in the glass pieces. Then they looked at each other. Why didn't it make noise when they shook the bottle? Why didn't they see it? Mickle bent over to pick up the key. Suddenly the glass pieces came together to form a bottle again. The key was mysteriously back inside! And the bottle began rolling slowly toward the sea.
The two boys ran after it. When they entered the sea, astonishingly they didn't sink into the water but floated on the surface of it. They felt excited. They followed the bottle and then it stopped near an island where there was much treasure like diamonds and stones. “You can take as much as possible,” a voice came from the coast where a talking fish was swimming. It was the trapped fish that Tommy saved and put back into the water.
