On March 28, 2025, China made a big step in transportation. It gave out the world’s first operation certificates(运用合格证) (OC) for passenger-carrying drones. Two companies got these certificates. One is EHang from Guangzhou and the other is Heyi Aviation from Hefei. Now these companies can use self-flying electric aircraft called eVTOLs to offer paid services. This means the start of a “passenger era” for low-altitude flights in China.
EHang’s EH216-S is a two-seat electric aircraft. It’s the first drone to pass all safety tests and get four important permits. It can fly as far as 30 kilometers at a speed of 130 km/h. Since 2021, it has had over 60,000 safe test flights. Now, people in cities like Guangzhou and Hefei can book short flights for fun or to get to work. It’s just like ordering a taxi online. For example, Luogang Park in Hefei will soon let people take flights in the air. The tickets will cost 500 to 800 yuan each time.
The Chinese government really supports this technology. Cities like Guangzhou and Hefei built special places for the aircraft to take off and land. They also made rules to keep people safe. By 2027, Guangzhou plans to have 100 such places across the city. Experts say low-altitude flights can help with traffic jams. They can also make emergency services better, like taking medical supplies to where they are needed.
In the world, China is leading in this field. While the United States and some other countries are still testing, China has already started selling tickets. EHang is the first eVTOL company to make money. It sent 216 aircraft in 2024. It wants to offer services all over China.
In the future, more cities may open “air taxi” routes. People can fly to work or travel. As an EHang engineer said, “Flying cars are not just in science fiction stories anymore—they are here.” With good technology and government support, the sky in China is becoming a new way for people to get around.

On March 27, 2025, China’s health and market agencies announced new food safety rules. These rules help people choose healthier and safer foods. One big change is that words like "no added" or "zero added" will disappear from food package labels. Companies used these words to sell products, but they could lie to buyers. For example, a "no added sugar" juice might still have natural fruit sugars. People might think it has no sugar at all. Some products avoided one sweetener but used others, causing confusion.
The new rules want to make food labels clearer and more honest. Instead of believing marketing words like “zero additives,” people should check the list of ingredients (成分)and the nutrition(营养) facts. For example, the amount of sugar will be clearly shown under “nutrients. (营养素)” This helps people know how much sugar they eat. Also, labels must show common allergens (过敏原)like nuts, eggs, or milk in bold or underlined words. This protects people who are allergic (过敏性的)to these things.
Another important change is the use of “digital labels.” People can scan the QR code on the package. Then they can get a lot of information. They can see where the ingredients come from, how to store the food, and even watch videos. It’s easy to read. This is very useful for people who can’t see the small print clearly.
Food expiration dates will be simpler too. Instead of calculating how long a product can last from the production date, the labels will show the “use by” date directly. For example, it might say “Expires (有效期)on March 30, 2026.” To stop food waste, some products may have a “best before” date. This tells people about the quality of the food.
Companies have two years to change their packaging and use up old stock. Experts say the rules will protect consumers and push producers to improve real quality instead of using misleading ads.
These changes show China’s push for openness in food production and public health. By reading labels carefully and using digital tools, everyone can make smarter eating choices.
1.What is the main purpose of the new food safety rules?
A. To increase food prices
B. To help people make healthier choices
C. To sell more packaged food
D. To protect companies from lawsuits
2.Why are phrases like "no added" banned(禁止) on labels?
A. They make food taste better
B. They can lie to consumers
C. They are too expensive to print
D. They use too much ink
3.How do the new rules help allergic people?
A. By hiding allergens in small print
B. By giving free medicine
C. By highlighting allergens in bold text
D. By removing all allergens from food
4. What can we know about food producers under the new rules?
A. They will spend more money on ads
B. They must improve product quality
C. They can ignore nutrition facts
D. They will stop using QR codes
5. How will food expiration dates change under the new rules ?
A . They will show production dates only.
B . They will calculate days from production.
C. They will use " Best Before " for all products .
D. They will directly state the " use by " date

It appears that few young people read for fun these days in the UK. In a 2024 survey by the UK charity The Reading Agency, almost one in four people aged 16-24 in the country said they didn’t read regularly. What does it mean? What kind of brain structure do good readers actually have?
My new study published in the journal Neuroimage studied open-source data from more than 1,000 people. The result shows differences in two regions of the brain’s left temporal lobe (左颞叶), which sits behind the left ear.
One is the lobe’s front part known as the temporal pole (颞极). It helps connect and sort different kinds of information. For example, to understand a word like “leg”, this brain region links how legs look, feel, and move. In people who read well, the left temporal pole is thinner compared to the right.
The other is the Heschl’s gyrus (海氏回) on the lobe’s upper part. The fold hosts the auditory cortex (听觉皮层) that processes sounds. That the auditory cortex would be related to reading might seem less obvious: isn’t reading mainly a visual skill? Not only. To match letters with speech sounds, we first need to be aware of the sounds of the spoken language. This phonological awareness (语音意识) has been known to set the stage for children’s reading development.
A thinner left Heschl’s gyrus is often linked to dyslexia, a problem that makes reading hard. But my research shows this thickness difference isn’t just about dyslexia. People with a thicker auditory cortex are usually better at reading.
Clearly, The brain structure can tell us a lot about reading skills. But the brain changes when we learn new things or practice skills. For example, people who study languages a lot have thicker brain areas related to language. Reading can also change the structure of the left Heschl’s gyrus. So, if you want to keep this part of your brain healthy, start reading a good book.
1. What role does the temporal pole play in reading?
A. It helps analyze emotions. B. It supports visual processing.
C. It manages memory storage. D. It connects and sorts information.
2. Why is the auditory cortex considered important for reading?
A. It helps turn letters into images.
B. It supports building reading habits.
C. It builds awareness of speech sounds.
D. It controls how fast we read words.
3.What does the underlined word “dyslexia” in paragraph 5 probably mean?
A. A strong interest in reading.
B. A condition that makes reading difficult.
C. An ability to read quickly and accurately.
D. A method of improving reading skills.
4. What does the last paragraph try to explain?
A. Reading helps shape the brain.
B. Dyslexia can be improved through reading.
C. Brain structure determines reading ability.
D. Language learning strengthens the brain.
5.What is the main idea of the passage?
A. Reading is becoming less popular among young people in the UK.
B. The left temporal lobe plays a crucial role in the brain’s functions.
C. Brain structure is related to reading skills and can be changed by reading.
D. Dyslexia is a common problem that affects many people’s reading ability.

Throughout its 46-year history, the Pritzker Prize has often been won by architects (建筑师) who leave their mark on the world with their unique (独一无二的) styles. This year, however, the prize has gone to a man who avoids having a unique style.
Liu Jiakun, 68, became the second winner from China to win the highest honor in architecture on March 4.2025
Living in Chengdu, Liu has worked for 40 years on over 30 projects. He started his own company – Jiakun Architects – in 1999 and has completed different projects, from small, beautiful museums to large commercial (商业的) buildings and public spaces.
Instead of sticking to a single building method, Liu aims to include local culture into his projects and uses “low-tech” simplicity (简朴) to create beauty.
Liu is most celebrated for the “rebirth bricks (再生砖)” he created after the deadly Wenchuan earthquake in 2008. As artificial intelligence (AI) gets more common in our daily life, it's also being used more in creative fields. From February 20 to March 5, Christie's, a famous auction house(拍卖行), held its first sale that was all about artworks made by AI.
These artworks were created with the help of machine learning. During the auction, an artist even used AI to make a painting right there. When the bids went up, the robot added more to the artwork.
According to what the auction house said, this event wanted to find out "how humans work in the world of fine art when AI is around". But this made a lot of artists angry. An online petition (请愿书)asking for the auction to be canceled got over 6,400 signatures.
The petition says that many of the artworks put in the auction were made with AI models. These models were trained using things that have copyright, and no one asked for permission. Because of this, many artists think the sale is like "stealing a lot of human artists' work".
As the BBC reported, art has always been seen as something only humans can do well. But now, since AI can make paintings and pictures that sell for a lot of money, people are asking what a real "work of art" is and what makes something creative.
Marcus du Sautoy, who wrote a book called The Creativity Code: Art and Innovation in the Age of AI, says that the machine-learning ways used to train AI might be a kind of creativity. "The code that looks at data... can learn... and change," Du Sautoy told the BBC. "This means the code might make something that... should be called the creativity of the code."
Still, some people disagree. In the case of the Christie's auction, they said artists did much more than just type in some words. They changed the data, made the models better, and really decided what the final work would look like. All through this, AI was more like a "partner to talk to".
Do you think AI art marks the end of creativity or the beginning of a new movement?
1.What was the main purpose of Christie’s AI art auction?
A. To make AI's role in making art more important.
B. To find out what human artists' part is in the time of AI.
C. To decide if AI can completely take the place of human artists.
D. To compare the artworks made by AI and those made by human artists.
2.Why were some artists against the auction?
A. They thought the art made by AI has no creativity.
B. They felt the art made by AI can't show human feelings.
C. They thought the auction didn't pay attention to traditional art forms.
D. They said that the AI models used things that have copyright without getting permission.
3.What is Marcus du Sautoy’s attitude toward using AI in art creation?
A. Doubtful. B. Worried. C. Positive. D. Unclear.
4.What is the passage mainly about?
A. How AI is used in creative areas.
B. The story of artworks made by AI.
C. The argument about what AI's role is in art.
D. The problems that artists meet in the time of AI.

Having trouble getting out of bed for school on Monday mornings? This year’s World Sleep Day on March 21 has brought attention to the problem of teenagers not getting enough sleep.
Many teenagers feel sleepy during the day because of homework, after-school activities, and wanting to use electronic devices. For example, in the US, 77.3 percent of high school students are sleep-deprived (缺乏睡眠的), said USAFacts.
Quality sleep is important for everyone, but it is especially important for teenagers. They need nine to 10 hours of sleep each day – more than adults, according to the US National Institute of Health. This is because adolescence (青春期) is a time of deep mental, physical, social and emotional (情绪的) growth.
For students, sleep helps them do better in school. It improves focus (专注), strengthens (增强) memory and helps with thinking skills, Harvard Health pointed out.
Sleep also helps with creativity. Scientists at Loughborough University in the UK studied this in the late 20th century. They compared creative test scores between people who didn’t sleep well and those who slept normally. The sleep-deprived group got lower scores on the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking. They repeated the same mistakes and had trouble coming up with new ideas.
More recently, in 2023, a team led by Kathleen Esfahany at the US Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) found that sleep onset (睡眠开始), a special stage (阶段) at the beginning of sleep, is especially good for creativity. This is the time when we are just falling asleep. When people were asked to dream about a certain topic during this stage, they did better on creative tasks about that topic after waking up.

1.A根据第六段 “More recently, in 2023, a team led by Kathleen Esfahany at the US Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) found that sleep onset (睡眠开始), a special stage (阶段) at the beginning of sleep, is especially good for creativity. This is the time when we are just falling asleep. When people were asked to dream about a certain topic during this stage, they did better on creative tasks about that topic after waking up.” 所以选 A。
2. D由第五段 “Sleep also helps with creativity. Scientists at Loughborough University in the UK studied this in the late 20th century. They compared creative test scores between people who didn’t sleep well and those who slept normally. The sleep-deprived group got lower scores on the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking. They repeated the same mistakes and had trouble coming up with new ideas.”

所以选 A。
A. eventually:最终。
A. accepted:接受。
A. ordered:命令。
A. fighting:战斗。
A. paint:绘画。
A. lead to:导致,带来。B. lead in:引入。C. come from:来自。D. play a role in:在……
所以选 A。

It surprised many people who didn’t believe what they saw in the media before.
This cultural exchange started many discussions around the world. Fans liked it when IShowSpeed sang the popular Chinese song “Sunshine Rainbow White Horse” with local people.

To help with rebuilding, Liu made bricks using the rubble (瓦砾) left from fallen buildings. These bricks were later used in several of his projects, including the Shuijingfang Museum in Chengdu and the Novartis Building in Shanghai.
Besides putting architecture into the local environment, Liu’s works are also human-centered. His focus on ordinary (普通的) people is reflected in his largest project, West Village, a five-story urban complex (建筑群) completed in 2015 in Chengdu. The complex includes a soccer field, a market and roads for people to walk or ride bikes on. “I think of it like a big Sichuan hotpot, mixing every part of city life,” Liu told The Guardian. It has become a popular place for people to relax and have fun.
“The purpose of architecture is to create a beautiful, just and dignified (有尊严的) living environment. People’s real lives, happiness and dignity are what we work for,” Liu told China Daily.
1.When did Liu Jiakun start his own company?
A. 2008 B. 1999 C. 2015 D. 2025.
2.What makes Liu Jiakun different from many other Pritzker Prize winners?
A. He builds only museums.
B. He avoids having a unique style and focuses on local needs.
C. He uses the most advanced technology.
D. He works only in China.
3.What is the main focus of Liu Jiakun’s architectural work?
A. Building skyscrapers in big cities.
B. Creating unique styles to impress people.
C. Mixing local culture and simplicity to serve ordinary people.
D. Using advanced technology to design modern buildings.
4.Why did Liu Jiakun create “rebirth bricks” after the Wenchuan earthquake?
A. To make his buildings look more beautiful.
B. To reuse materials and help rebuild communities.
C. To save money for commercial projects.
D. To win international awards for his creativity.
5.What can we know about Liu Jiakun’s view on architecture from his quote in China Daily?
A. Buildings should be tall and expensive.
B. Unique styles are the most important part of design.
C. Only large cities deserve good architectural projects.
D. Architecture should prioritize people’s happiness and dignity over style.

1. What can we infer from the MIT study mentioned in the passage?
A. The sleep onset stage is critical for creative thinking.
B. Creativity is unrelated to sleep quality.
C. Dreaming during deep sleep is most beneficial for creativity.
D. People who sleep less are more likely to have original ideas.
2. Why does the author mention the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking?
A. To prove that creativity is unrelated to sleep.
B. To compare different tests for measuring creativity.
C. To argue that adults need more sleep than teenagers.
D. To show that sleep-deprived people perform poorly on creative tasks.
3.What might happen if a teenager gets enough sleep?
A. They would have difficulty focusing in class.
B. Their memory and thinking skills would improve.
C. They would perform worse on creative tasks.
D. They would be more likely to change schools.
4. Which is the right structure of this article?
A B C D
5.What is the main idea of the passage?
A. Solutions to improve teenagers' sleep habits.
B. How electronic devices affect teenagers' sleep quality.
C. A comparison of sleep needs between adults and teenagers.
D. The importance of sleep for teenagers and its impact on their development.
