阅读理解 (2024·洛阳高一检测)When you walk in a Chinese city early in the morning, you're likely to see groups of people exercising in the park. You'll see them moving through a series of slow graceful movements. As their bodies flow from one exercise to the next, their minds are focused only on their deep, relaxed breathing. Tai chi is part of national cultural heritage(遗产) which Chinese people take pride in. This ancient mindbody exercise is known as tai chi, and you don't have to live in China to benefit from it. According to a survey in 2007, more than 2 million Americans are currently practicing tai chi. Tai chi is called a mindbody type of exercise because it combines meditation,_focused breathing, and physical movement. Because it's also a lowimpact(低强度的) exercise, it may be particularly suitable for older adults, but it's a beneficial exercise for people of all ages. Tai chi developed in China as a type of martial art. Today tai chi is used to develop fitness, meditation, balance, breathing, and wellbeing. If tai chi is something you might like to try, look for a tai chi class near you. Keep in mind that training programs are different in many ways. You might want to ask around for a recommendation or try a class before you sign up. Ask potential tai chi instructors about their training and experience. Tai chi is generally considered a lowrisk exercise that is both safe and enjoyable. If you have any physical or medical problems, talk with your health care provider before starting any exercise program. And remember, although tai chi has many benefits, it can't take the place of regular medical care. 1.What can we know from Paragraph 2? A.Some foreigners are interested in tai chi. B.Tai chi makes people happy, wise and energetic. C.Chinese people don't take tai chi seriously now. D.Tai chi was considered a way to lengthen one's life. 2.What does the underlined word “meditation” in Paragraph 3 mean? A.Hard training. B.Deep thinking. C.Body stretching. D.Violent exercising. 3.Who may benefit from practicing tai chi? A.Old people. B.The patients. C.Young people. D.People of all ages. 4.What is the best title of this passage? A.Different Schools of Tai Chi Around the World B.Tai Chi—a National Heritage and Wonderful Exercise C.Chinese Martial Arts—the Origin and Forms of Tai Chi D.The Advantages and Disadvantages of Practicing Tai Chi 【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。 根据第二段中的“According to a survey in 2007, more than 2 million Americans are currently practicing tai chi.” 故选A。 根据第三段中的“Tai chi is called a mindbody type of exercise because it combines meditation,_focused breathing, and physical movement.” 根据第三段中的“Because it's also a lowimpact exercise, it may be particularly suitable for older adults, but it's a beneficial exercise for people of all ages.” 根据第二段中的“Tai chi is part of national cultural heritage which Chinese people take pride in. Then, there was the day that seemed like the end of my life. This specific day changed my life forever. It was a nice summer day. After breakfast,my family headed to the park to see my baseball game.In the evening we went to a carnival(嘉年华) in my town.My grandma was selling blankets under a tent.Suddenly, the mood of the day changed when my parents took me to my grandma's tent.Still to this day,I remember the exact words my dad said to me,“Son,how would you like to move to the United States?” I couldn't believe what he said.I then ran away from him as the tears rolled down my cheeks. My perfect life was being taken away from me. Two weeks later,we arrived at New York in late July, and my aunt and uncle drove us to Springfield,Massachusetts where we lived for seven years. As a 9yearold kid who grew up in Peru,I knew little about local language and culture. What's worse,September came soon and school started. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在相应位置作答。 Paragraph 1: The first few months there were not fun or easy.________ __________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: Despite all those problems,I still remembered that special tree.________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ [参考范文] Paragraph 1: The first few months there were not fun or easy.I was afraid to go to the new school and make new friends. As time passed by,teachers finally knew all of their students and everyone began to adapt to the life, except for me.Most kids ignored me and some tried to talk to me,but I couldn't understand them or say anything. It seemed that fear, loneliness and sadness all came over me. Paragraph 2: Despite all those problems,I still remembered that special tree. That tree once taught me never to give up and reach higher. Therefore,I made great efforts to overcome the difficulties and began to speak English in public.Gradually, some classmates came to me after class and played with me.Much to my joy,I made some friends and even was invited to their party. Now I have beaten every difficulty that I have met in life, and keep moving forward.I realize that my perfect life was never taken away from me; it has just started. 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
