B Every so often, 31-year-old Chen Jiawen, a product designer at a technology company in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, sets aside a day for herself called Unplug Day. On this day, she disconnects from the digital world and focuses on real-life experiences. In the morning, she prepares breakfast for herself while listening to music. In the afternoon, she wanders through the park with friends and in the evening, they enjoy a meal together without touching their phones, engaged in deep conversation. Upon returning home, she spends the evening reading. Chen started the plan as she often felt “interrupted” by technology, citing moments of distraction (分心) like pop-up notifications, ring tones and repetitious warnings leading her to check for new messages, and feelings of information overload. “Occasionally disconnecting from the network is like feeding the brain a day of vegetarian food,” Chen said. Unplug Day is part of her plan to combat information overload from overusing the phone and to rebuild her focus. In addition to this, she has started replacing short videos with longer ones and prioritizes reading in-depth news articles or books. “When friends gather and everyone is glued to their phones, it makes me uncomfortable,” Chen said, adding that burying herself in social media prevented her from completing work as planned, leading to psychological burdens and a decreasing focus. It’s become a common situation where modern people might unconsciously use the time spent waiting at traffic lights to watch a short video or constantly check out a trending topic upon receiving a push notification from an app. To prevent this sense of being “controlled” by mobile devices, some young Chinese like Chen are experimenting with digital minimalism and are discovering positive outcomes from their efforts. Technology should bring us joy, not reduce the time we spend with family or increase our anxiety. Our goal is to control technology rather than letting it control us. 24. What can we learn about Unplug Day? A. It is a day for reading. B. It is a day without phones. C. It is a day away from the Internet. D. It is a day to spend with friends. 25. What does the underlined word “combat” in paragraph 2 mean? A. Learn. B. Cancel. C. Obtain. D. Prevent. 26. What is the direct impact of over-involvement in social media on Chen Jiawen? A. Tasks’ delays. B. Stress from peers. C. Mental problems. D. A decreased ability. 27. What does the author suggest people do in the last paragraph? A. Enjoy the benefits of technology. B. Decrease the time spent on digital devices. C. Remove the apps informing new messages. D. Watch longer videos while waiting at traffic lights. C Imagine driving behind a huge truck shooting clouds of smoke into the air while your new fully electric vehicle cleans up its carbon emissions. This dream may soon be a reality. A team of students in the Netherlands has created an electric car that not only doesn’t produce carbon dioxide when driving, but actually pulls it out of the air. The two-seater sports car was designed and built in less than a year by a team of 32 students at Eindhoven University of Technology. Called “ZEM”, which stands for “zero emission mobility”, the car is equipped with special devices that remove carbon dioxide from the air as it drives. The team says if ZEM is driven about 32,000 kilometers, it can remove 2 kilograms of carbon dioxide from the air. That’s not a huge amount. The team calculates(计算) that 10 ZEM cars on the road for a year would remove as much carbon dioxide as a typical tree does during that time. However, they also point out that there are over a billion passenger cars in the world that could be using this technology. And if a billion cars were removing carbon dioxide instead of producing it, the result would be huge. ZEM also has several other innovations that help to make it more capable of being sustained: the car’s frame and panels (面板) are 3D printed to reduce waste; it was built using recycled and recyclable materials; and it can be easily taken apart so that many of its parts can be reused. ZEM’s battery is also reusable, and has another handy feature: it can be charged with solar panels on the car’s roof—and can even be used to provide power to your house when the car isn’t on the road. According to the statistics, transportation was responsible for over 20% of global carbon dioxide emissions in 2020—and of those emissions, cars were responsible for 41%. The Eindhoven team says its goal is to challenge the electric car industry: If 32 students can build a car like this in less than a year, then surely car manufacturers (生产商) are expected to adopt these innovations, too. 28. What is special about ZEM? A. It can end the world’s CO2 release. B. It can cut the truck’s CO2 emissions. C. It can reduce the level of CO2 in the air. D. It can absorb dirty air as well as CO2. 29. Why does the team run the calculation of ZEM in paragraph 2? A. To demonstrate a superb expectations of ZEM cars. B. To explain how ZEM removes CO2 as trees do. C. To illustrate the ongoing change in car making. D. To show the influence of ZEM on the car market. 30. What do we know about all the components of ZEM? A. They are of high quality. B. They are easy to process. C. They are convenient to print. D. They are environmentally friendly. 31. What does the Eindhoven team hope to achieve in the future? A. Sharp decline in fuel consumption. B. Mass production of ZEM cars. C. Big success in beating other car makers. D. Dramatic changes in transportation D In 2023 and 2024, global temperatures have reached around 1.5 degrees Celsius above the preindustrial average. Scientists predicted that El Niño, combined with decreasing air pollution that cools the earth, would cause temperatures to skyrocket. But even those factors, scientists say, are not sufficient to explain the world’s recent record heat. Earth’s overall energy imbalance — the amount of heat the planet is taking in minus the amount of heat it is releasing — also continues to rise, worrying scientists. If it rises, scientists expect global temperatures to follow. Two new studies offer a potential explanation: fewer clouds. And the decline in cloud cover, researchers say, could signal the start of a feedback loop that leads to more warming. Clouds can affect the climate system in two ways: First, their white surfaces reflect the sun's light, cooling the planet. But clouds also act as a kind of blanket, reflecting infrared radiation(红外线辐射) back to the surface of the planet, just like greenhouse gases. Which factor wins out depends on the type of cloud and its altitude. High, thin cirrus clouds(卷云)tend to have more of a warming effect on the planet. Low, fluffy cumulus clouds(积云) have more of a cooling effect. Clouds are a huge lever(操纵杆)on the climate system. In Goessling’s study, researchers found that low-altitude cloud cover has fallen dramatically — which has also reduced the reflectivity of the planet. The year 2023 — which was 1.48 degrees Celsius above the preindustrial average — had the lowest albedo (反射率) since 1940. That low albedo contributed 0.2 degrees Celsius of warming to 2023's record-high temperatures — an amount roughly equivalent to the warming that has so far been unexplained. “This number of about 0.2 degrees fairly well fits this ‘missing warming,’”Goessling said. If the cloud changes are part of a feedback loop, scientists warn, that could indicate more warming coming. If so, the planet could pass 1.5 degrees Celsius later this decade. Researchers now say that they are rushing to understand these effects as the planet continues to warm. “We are kind of in crunch time(关键时期),” Goessling said. “We have a really strong climate signal — and from year to year it’s getting stronger.” 32. What is energy imbalance? A. Variations in global cloud cover. B. Accumulation of greenhouse gases. C. Changes of the Earth’s temperature. D. Gap between heat intake and emission. 33. What is the relationship between cloud cover and global warming? A. More clouds always lead to cooling. B. Cloud cover has no significant impact on climate. C. High-altitude clouds are more reflective than low-altitude clouds. D. The type and altitude of clouds determine their impact on warming. 34. What might happen if cloud feedback loops persist? A. Cooling will accelerate. B. Albedo will increase. C. 1.5°C will be surpassed. D. El Niño will weaken. 35. What is a suitable title for the text? A. Cloud Changes and Future Climate B. The Role of Clouds in Climate C. The Mystery of Global Warming D. The Impact of Air Pollution 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Go Gardening Gardening provides numerous benefits beyond just fresh vegetables and flowers. It can also aid in weight management, fitness, and mental sharpness. There are more advantages. It’s a fun workout. 36 But if you find the idea of working in a garden a bit dull, knowing it's doing you good physically might make it more entertaining. You plant seeds, pull up weeds, move pots, and push a lawnmower (剪草机) etc. 37 Even better, whatever your age, it is an activity with a purpose — and one that might keep you in motion longer than traditional exercise. It reduces your risk of heart disease. Even though gardening may not involve high-intensity exercise, it still provides heart-health benefits. _____38 The benefits come from a combination of physical exercise and the stress reduction that ‘playing in the dirt’ provides. 39 Having dirt under your fingernails may be a sign of poor hygiene (卫生), but scientists say it could also be a mark of good health. Thanks to beneficial bacteria found in soil, gardening may improve your immune system(免疫系统), helping you get sick less and fight off infections easier, according to research that includes a 2015 study published in the international journal Immuno Targets and Therapy. It increases co-ordination (配合) and strength. Hand and finger strength, flexibility and coordination are essential for everyday tasks like opening jars, carrying packages and picking up children. 40 A. It boosts your immune system. B It helps you stay fit physically and mentally. C. It’s nice to get out in the garden on a sunny day to give it a tidy. D. In fact, gardening can contribute to reducing the risk of a heart attack. E. Gardening is a great way to maintain those fine motor (肌肉运动的) skills and muscles. F. The gardening tasks actually provide a whole-body workout for adults over 65 years old. G. More than just good exercise for your body, gardening provides a workout for your brain. 第三部分:语言运用(共三节,满分30分) 第一节:(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 Adam Wolfers believes that his son’s autism (自闭症) has a positive impact on his hobby of photography.10-year-old Morgan has always possessed a 41 eye for capturing the world around him through his camera. I recently had a personal experience that reminded me of this during a particularly challenging week. My week had been filled with problems, from work-related stress to unexpected bills and broken items. By the time I needed to go to the store for a few essentials, I was already feeling overwhelmed and at my breaking point. Despite my desire to just go home and relax, I made the trip across town to the store. When I arrived, I found the parking lot packed, which only added to my frustration. To make matters worse, the person next to my intended parking spot seemed to think their small car was entitled (有资格) to take up two spaces. After finally finding a spot, I realized that I had left my purse, including my debit card (借记卡) and checkbook (支票簿), at home. Fortunately, I had a small amount of cash and my coupon (优惠券) book, so I decided to go inside and make the best of it. The store was bustling with people, but I managed to find the items I needed and got in line to check out. However, the line seemed to move at a snail’s pace, and my patience was wearing thin. As I waited, I couldn’t help but feel my stress levels rising. That’s when I noticed an old lady standing behind me in line. She seemed to sense my anxiety and cast a kind smile at me. I awkwardly returned the smile and continued to wait. After a seemingly endless wait, it was finally my turn to check out. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右:2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 However, what happened next was out of my expectation._________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________ As I was about to return for more cash, I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder.__________________________ 参考答案 第一部分听力(共两节,满分30分) 1-5 AABBC 6-10 BACAC 11-15 BBAAC 16-20 BCBCA 第二部分 阅读理解(共20小题;每小题2.5分,满分50分) 第一节 DBA CDAB CADB DDCA CFDAE 第三部分:语言运用(共三节,满分30分) 第一节:完形填空 (共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 41. During the activity, we participated in a series of meaningful actions, such as cleaning the campus and watering the flowers. Additionally, several experts were invited to deliver a lecture, significantly enhancing our understanding of environmental issues. Through this activity, not only can we acquire the knowledge of environmental protection, but we also realize the significance of everyone’s participation in protecting the environment. I believe that if we all take action, we can make our earth a better place. 第二节(满分25分) However, what happened next was out of my expectation. As the cashier scanned my items, I discovered that the total cost exceeded the amount of cash I had on hand. Embarrassment and confusion filled me as I attempted to explain my situation to the cashier, who seemed increasingly frustrated. Meanwhile, the patience of the people waiting behind me in line began to wear thin. Just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse, a sense of hopelessness began to set in, and I contemplated having to return home to retrieve more money. As I was about to return for more cash, I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder. It was the elderly woman who had been standing behind me in line. With a warm smile, she handed me some money and reassuringly said, “Don’t worry, dear. We all have tough days.” Her kindness deeply touched me, and I thanked her with all the sincerity I could muster before paying for my items. As I left the store, I felt a profound sense of gratitude and realized that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a significant impact on someone’s day. This simple gesture of goodwill truly brightened my spirits, and it inspired me to pay it forward by helping others whenever I can. 3. 词汇激活 行为类 ①递:hand/give ②激励:inspire/encourage ③感动:touch/move 情绪类 ①沮丧的:frustrated/disappointed ②感激:gratitude/appreciation 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
