(A) Do you like doing chores? What do you think of doing chores? A new study shows that it can make you smarter.
The study was done by a team at a university in Australia. More than 200 parents and kids aged between 5 and 13 joined in it. Parents were asked about how many chores their kids did each day and if the kids actually finished each job.
Tepper led the study. It showed that doing chores like cooking and cleaning was especially helpful to young people. "Kids who often cook meals or do the cleaning are able to do other things well, like problem-solving," said Tepper. It also showed that self-care chores and family-care chores could greatly improve kids’ ability(能力)to think before acting. According to the study, 70%of girls made their own beds compared to 50% of boys.However,66% of boys took out the rubbish and only 43% of girls did.
Tepper and her team were happy with what they had learned. "We were really excited," she said. At the same time, Tepper pointed out that chores sometimes seemed boring to kids, so parents should pick those that their kids enjoyed.
"Not all chores are boring!" Tepper added.“Find activities that your kids like. They will enjoy doing chores and can learn about healthy eating or the environment.”

I was lying under a tree and didn't know what was happening around me. M body was hot. I had a terrible headache. A few minutes later, I was on my way t the hospital.
It was a hot summer day. I came to Beijing for a running race.Halfway through the race,I started to feel dizzy(眩晕的). I didn’t want to give up,so I decided t go on. But it was too hot, and before I could finish the race, I fell down.
Some people said I had heatstroke(中暑). Later, however,I learned I had heat exhaustion(热衰竭). What’s the difference?
If we exercise too long in the heat, our bodies can lose too much water and get too hot and we will experience heat exhaustion. If so, our body temperature will increase. We will feel dizzy, and often have a headache. If you get heat exhaustion, find a cool place to rest right away. And drink enough water. If you don't do these, heat exhaustion may turn into heatstroke.
Heatstroke is very dangerous. It happens when one's body gets too hot from being in hot weather for too long. If someone has heatstroke, his body temperature will go up to 40℃ or even higher. He needs to see a doctor at once. He won't get better without treatment(治疗).People who get heatstroke will feel dizzy, breathe fast and even die.
During summer, please be very careful when you're out in the sun.
