II.Grammar and Vocabulary
Section A
Directions: After reading the passage below, fill in the blanks to make the passage coherent and grammatically correct. For the blanks with a given word, fill in each blank with the proper form of the given word; for the other blanks, use one word that best fits each blank.
Dear Anxious Bunny,
I fully understand how debilitating it can feel 21 (be) aware of the work you need to do but simply not be able to find the motivation to get started. I also understand the feelings of shame and guilt 22 often accompany this internal conflict. But before I give you any practical advice or strategies to deal with your stress, I want to emphasize the importance of not beating yourself up for letting your work pile up; negative self-talk is only going to increase your anxiety.
You wouldn’t be human 23 you didn’t feel a lack of motivation at times. When you feel demotivated, try taking a small step in the right direction by choosing any one of the tasks you need to finish and starting working on it, 24 your feelings.
This may sound redundant, but fighting the impulse to not get started because of your lack of motivation 25 be exactly what you need to do in order to find motivation. Once you start completing a task that you 26 (put off) for days or even weeks, there’s a fair chance that you’ll realize it didn’t even take you that long to complete. Then you can use that experience as evidence that you’re able to complete your tasks by simply choosing to get started instead of giving in to your lack of motivation.
This is easier said than done, but I find breaking down work into small parts rather than attempting to tackle 27 all at once helps to ease your anxiety and stress. If you’d prefer a more unconventional strategy, try taking a 15-minute walk, whether it outside or just around your house. Many doctors believe 28 this exercise may boost flowing to your brain, which can help you calm your nerves and clear your head so that you’ll feel ready to get down to doing your work.
But if there seems to be 29 ongoing problem with your motivation, and you feel overwhelmed to the point where you struggle to get out of bed or keep a regular eating schedule, it may be time to seek help from a mental health professional. Also, don’t hesitate to reach out to your teachers for help. 30 (prioritize) your mental health is a crucial part of your ability to be the best student you can be. Take care of yourself, Anxious Bunny.

Success of “Ne Zha 2” Spotlights Appeal, Artistry, Creativity of Chinese Culture
The runaway success of “Ne Zha 2” is the first film to generate $1 billion dollars in a single market and the first non-Hollywood title to join the billion-dollar club. It is a masterclass in cultural reinvention and has been 31 for its combination of tradition and innovation.
The film reinvents the tale of Nezha, a rebellious boy-god from Chinese folklore. Director Jiaozi has expanded the narrative scope, introducing complex dynamics, 32 storytelling and a richly textured world. The film appeals to young and old audiences 33 . Its exploration of universal themes— the defiance in the face of power, the struggle against fate, and the embrace of self-confidence— has struck a chord with viewers, making it a rare cinematic achievement that goes beyond cultural 34 .
Equally impressive is the film’s technical brilliance. “Ne Zha 2” represents a quantum leap in China’s animation industry, boasting visuals and effects that parallel those of Hollywood blockbusters. With around 2, 000 special effects shots and contributions from 138 animation studios, the film showcases the 35 power of China’s creative ecosystem. Breathtaking scenes, such as the exciting battle at Tianyuan Ding and the transformation of Nezha’s physical form, are not just technique but also narrative devices that enhance the emotional depth of the story. This 36 of artistry and technology exemplifies the significant advancement of China’s film industry.
The success of “Ne Zha 2” also highlights the growing 37 for homegrown content among Chinese audiences. In recent years, there has been growing interest in traditional culture, 38 by a sense of national pride and a desire for stories that resonate with local identities. Films like “Ne Zha 2” arc part of a natural renaissance where ancient tales are 39 through a modern lens. This trend speaks to a deeper shift in China’s cultural landscape, where creativity and tradition are combined to create works that are locally meaningful and globally appealing.
Undoubtedly, “Ne Zha 2” is more than just a film; it’s a cultural milestone. Its success reflects the dynamism of China’s creative industries, the enduring appeal of its cultural heritage, and the potential for Chinese stories to 40 audiences all over the world.
Section A
Directions: For each blank in the following passage there are four words or phrases marked A. B.C and D. Fill in each blank with the word or phrase that best fits the context
We know someone who fits the description. You probably work with one; you might even be related to one. And with Christmas approaching, the season of office parties and family gatherings you’re increasingly likely to have to 41 with them and rediscover just how annoying they are. I’m talking about know-it-alls, people who will enthusiastically 42 you about an topic or activity, despite obviously having little to no knowledge in what they’re talking about - and often when you do.
Why would some people assume 43 knowledge to others, about every possible subject? One is the phenomenon of “naive realism” (direct realism or common sense realism), which describes how people instinctively assume that their 44 of the world reflect objective reality. In actuality, everything we perceive and “know” about the world has been filtered through a complex mesh (筛网) of cognitive biases, sensory shortcuts, shifting emotional memories and more. What we think is reality in our heads is often noticeably 45 the actual reality, but we don’t recognize this happening. As a result, we regularly encounter people whose understanding of the world is very different to our own. But naive realism means we assume that those who understand the world differently are 46 . For a seemingly large number of people, this results in an irresistible urge to “correct” others. It may spring from entirely good intentions, but that doesn’t make it any less 47 .
This can be the full story, 48 , as countless people believe others are wrong, yet never do or say anything about it. Another potential cognitive bias 49 , proposed in a recent study by Prof Hunter Gehlbach, Dr Carly D Robinson and Prof Annette Flerch, published in the journal PLoS ONE, is the illusion (幻觉) of information adequacy. Put simply, this describes how, despite lacking sufficient information to make correct judgements about something, many people will assume the 50 . It’s logically very hard to recognize and take account of what we don’t know.
A(n) 51 of the illusion of information adequacy and naive realism can lead to people believing they know more than they really do. In their minds, this knowledge is more advanced than that of others and they must hurry to correct it
Then there’s our old friend, the Dunning-Kruger effect: the cognitive bias where people with limited competence in a certain area tend to 52 their abilities. Their lack of intellectual insight means they 53 to recognize when someone else knows more than them, they’ll confidently argue with those who are better informed. And because people often respond more to confidence than 54 , they usually get away with it. If this happens often enough, they could convince themselves that they’re 55 on pretty much everything, even though the opposite is true.

Section B
Directions: Read the following three passages. Each passage is followed by several questions or unfinished statements. For each of them there are four choices marked A, B, C and D. Choose the one that fits best according to the information given in the passage you have just read.
A
When I look back on my childhood, one aspect stands out in my memory: my love of history. I can remember a time when history hasn’t been a part of my life, and my passion for it was aroused in my earliest days. I was only two or three years old when my mum began to read me tales of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and before long, they became a regular part of my bedtime routine. I was fascinated by the stories of the sword in the stone and the Holy Grail, and I was attracted by Lancelot and Guinevere.
When I was four, though, I received a gift that would prove so inspirational that — without my knowledge at the time — it helped to steer the direction of my career: The Webtastic Illustrated British History Book. When my mum gave this to me, published in 1989, I doubt she thought much beyond the fact that it might open for me a gateway to something or someone other than King Arthur—and she was absolutely right.
I vividly remember leafing through the pages and admiring the pictures — and then I came to one image that really captured my attention: Henry VIII and his six wives. The idea of a king who had married six times fascinated the infant me, and I used the book to memorize the classic rhyme about their fate: divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. Simply from viewing pictures of a king and his spouses, my love of the Tudors (都铎王朝) was born — and snowballed.
That slim volume was my starting point, and soon it began to show signs of wear. I became determined to find out all I could about Henry VIII and his extraordinary family — a journey that I’m still undertaking to this day. If I hadn’t been given that book as a child, I’m certain that my career would’ve taken an entirely different direction. It was a small thing — but one that made a far-reaching impact.
56.Why did the mother give the author The Webtastic Illustrated British History Book?
A.To make bedtime more enjoyable for the author.
B.To encourage the author to pursue a career in history.
C.To help the author understand the importance of reading.
D.To introduce the author to other historical topics besides King Arthur.
57.Why does the author mention seeing the image of Henry VIII in the book?
A.To describe her fascination with royal marriages.
B.To show how this image excited her deep interest in history.
C.To highlight how essential illustrations are in a children’s history book.
D.To suggest that the image influenced her view of historical events.
58.Which piece of the following advice is the author most likely to give to parents?
A.Expose children to history early on because it is important for their growth.
B.Prioritize content over engaging illustrations when choosing books for children.
C.Introduce children to academics to shape their future careers.
D.Encourage children’s exploration of interests with resources.
59.Which of the following proverbs best reflects the main theme of the passage?
A.A tiny flame can start a fire. B.You reap what you sow.

Teens Are Still Developing Empathy Skills
The teen years are often fraught with door-slamming, eye-rolling and seeming insensitivity even by kids who behaved kindly before. Some parents worry that they are doing something wrong or that their children will never think of anyone but themselves. A six -year study shows that biology is partly to blame.
In adolescence, critical social skills that are needed for one to feel concern for other people and to understand how they think are undergoing major changes. Adolescence has long been known as prime time for developing cognitive skills (认知能力) for self-regulation and executive function (执行功能).
“Cognitive empathy,” or the mental ability to take others’ perspective, begins to rise steadily in girls at the age of 13, according to the study co-authored by Jolien van der Graaff at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. By comparison, boys do not begin until the age of 15 to show increases in perspective-taking, which helps in problem -solving and avoiding conflict.
Adolescent boys actually show a temporary decline, between the ages of 13 and 16, in a related skill — “affective empathy (情感同理心),” or the ability to recognize and respond to others’ feelings. This may be the result, at least in part, of a dramatic rise in testosterone (睾酮), the primary male sex hormone, during adolescence, which sparks a desire for dominance and power. Fortunately, the boys’ sensitivity recovers in their late teens. Girls affective empathy remains relatively high and stable throughout adolescence.
This doesn’t mean, however, that we can do nothing but just wait for teenagers to develop a feeling of empathy. In fact, parents can help instill affective empathy into their children. Affective empathy is grounded in the limbic region (边缘区) of the brain, which regulates emotions. This capacity begins to develop in infancy. Children learn to practice empathy by watching their parents and by experiencing it themselves-being well treated by adults who sensitively respond to their emotions. While cognitive empathy arises from a different part of the brain called the medial prefrontal cortex (内侧前额叶皮层), the two abilities are linked. Children’s affective empathy predicts their level of cognitive empathy as teens, says Caspar Van Lissa at Utrecht University.
The findings reflect a major expansion in researchers’ understanding of cognitive growth during adolescence. They used to believe that both forms of empathy were fully formed in childhood. Now, it is clear that “the brain regions that support social cognition, which helps us successfully understand and interact with others, continue to change dramatically”, in our teens, says Jennifer Pfeifer at the University of Oregon. Research in her lab also suggests that cognitive empathy rises in teens. The discoveries serve as a new lens for exploring such teen behavior as bullying and drug abuse.

A.until the age of 15 B.in their late teens
C.during adolescence D.between the ages of 13 and 16
64.Adolescent boys tend to ignore the feelings of another person partly because ______.

How to love what you do
“FIND YOUR PASSION!” This is an inspiring saying, but is it good advice?
“Finding” a passion implies that it already exists and is simply waiting to be discovered. 67 They often begin with a spark of curiosity about a subject and later, through a process involving repeated engagement, positive experiences and increased knowledge, people come to personally value that content or activity and internalize it. What was at first interesting becomes an interest. If these qualities continue to intensify, a passion can emerge.
In several studies, we and our colleagues have found that misunderstanding this idea can discourage people. Fortunately, our latest research reveals that there are ways to correct course and cultivate a more open, accurate perspective about interest.
To study these ideas, we use a framework of “fixed” and growth mindsets. In school, thinking of one’s intellectual abilities as fixed can be harmful, whereas believing one can develop and grow skills supports greater learning. 68 People who think interest and passions are relatively unchangeable have a fixed mindset of interest. In contrast, people who view interests and passions as developed have a growth mindset of interest.
The latter comes with many advantages. A fixed mindset of interest, for example, may hold back exploration and creativity. 69 We have also found that people with a fixed mindset of interest tend to expect their passions to come easily to them. Those with a growth mindset maintained their new-found interest despite the difficulty.
So how can we foster a growth mindset of interest? Realize that passions aren’t waiting to be “found. ” Take an active role in developing them. 70 A growth mindset will help you remain open and curious. The saying “Find something you love to do, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life” needs updating. If you work at loving what you do, you might become more creative and resilient.
A.Indulge your curiosities and don’t expect new pursuits to always be easy or exciting.
B.Students with a growth mindset often hold interests in arts, humanities and social science.
C.Plus, those with a fixed mindset are less likely than those with a growth mindset to generate novel solutions that integrate different disciplines.
D.Now, we argue for a separate but related idea.
E.But science tells us that passions are developed.
F.Think about your interests and passions as fixed rather than cultivated.

Problems on the Production of Coffee Beans
The production of coffee beans is a huge, profitable business, but, unfortunately, full -sun production is taking over the industry and bringing about a lot of damage. The change in how coffee is grown from shade -grown production to full -sun production endangers the very existence of certain animals and birds and even disturbs the world’s ecological balance.
On a local level, the damage of the forest required by full -sun fields affects the area’s birds and animals. The shade of the forest trees provides a home for birds and other species that depend on the trees’ flowers and fruits. Full -sun coffee growers destroy this forest home. As a result, many species are quickly dying out.
Moreover, the continued spread of full -sun coffee plantations could mean the destruction of the rainforest ecology. The loss of shade trees is already causing a slight change in the world’s climate, and studies show that loss of oxygen -giving trees also leads to air pollution and global warming. Besides, the new growing techniques are contributing to acidic soil conditions.
On a more global level, the destruction of the rainforest for full -sun coffee fields also threatens human life. Medical research often makes use of the forests’ plant and animal life, and the destruction of such species could prevent researchers from finding cures for certain diseases. In addition, new coffee -growing techniques are poisoning the water locally and eventually the world’s groundwater.
It is obvious that the way much coffee is grown affects many aspects of life, from the local environment to the global ecology. But consumers do have a choice. They can purchase shade -grown coffee whenever possible, although at a higher cost. The future health of the planet and mankind is surely worth more than an inexpensive cup of coffee.

C.Still waters run deep. D.The early bird catches the worm.
【答案】56.D 57.B 58.D 59.A
根据第二段第二句“When my mum gave this to me, published in 1989, I doubt she thought much beyond the fact that it might open for me a gateway to something or someone other than King Arthur—and she was absolutely right. (1989年妈妈把这本书送给我时,我怀疑她并没有多想,只是觉得这本书可能会为我打开一扇通往亚瑟王以外的事儿或人物的大门——她完全正确)”可知,母亲送这本书的目的是为了让作者接触到除了亚瑟王以外的其他历史话题。故选D项。
57.推理判断题。根据第三段第二句“The idea of a king who had married six times fascinated the infant me, and I used the book to memorize the classic rhyme about their fate: divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. (一个国王结了六次婚让我着迷,我用这本书记住了关于她们命运的经典韵律:离婚、斩首、死亡、离婚、斩首、幸存)”可知,作者能够记住复杂的人物命运,正是受到了这张图片的启发,提及这张图片是为了展示该图如何激发了她对历史的浓厚兴趣。故选B项。
58.推理判断题。根据全文内容,尤其是最后一段最后两句“If I hadn’t been given that book as a child, I’m certain that my career would’ve taken an entirely different direction. It was a small thing—but one that made a far-reaching impact. (如果我童年时没有收到那本书,我的职业生涯肯定会走向完全不同的方向。这是一件小事,但却产生了深远的影响)”可知,作者的母亲给作者一本书这件小事,进一步激发了作者对历史的兴趣,甚至影响了其职业选择。由此可见,家长可以通过提供书籍等资源来引导和培养孩子兴趣的发展。作者最可能给出的建议应是家长应提供资源鼓励孩子探索兴趣。故选D项。
59.主旨大意题。根据全文内容,尤其是最后一段最后一句“It was a small thing—but one that made a far-reaching impact. (这是一件小事,但却产生了深远的影响)”可知,文章通过作者具体的经历来突显了一件小事可能带来巨大的影响。童年母亲给作者一本书这件小事,最终影响了作者的职业选择。因此“A tiny flame can start a fire. (星星之火可以燎原)”这句谚语能反映文章的主题。故选A项。

63.Teenage boys are less likely to put themselves in other people’s shoes ______.
A.until the age of 15 B.in their late teens
C.during adolescence D.between the ages of 13 and 16
64.Adolescent boys tend to ignore the feelings of another person partly because ______.
A.they are born with a natural desire for dominance and power
B.their affective empathy becomes unstable during adolescence
C.they think being sensitive and caring is seen as uncool for guys
D.their emotional reactions are highly influenced by peer pressure
65.Which of the following kids is most likely to grow more empathetic during their adolescence?
A.Mike, raised by his grandparents who only care if he’s hungry.
B.Jack, raised by parents who buy anything he wants to keep him quiet.
C.Leila, raised by parents who properly guide her through her emotions.
D.Carla, raised by parents who always ask her to handle her feelings on her own.
66.Which of the following statements about the study co-authored by Graaff is NOT true?
A.It took her team a long time to reach their conclusions.
B.It was the first of its kind to have studied teen empathy.
C.Its findings were supported by Jennifer Pfeifer’s research.
D.It will pave the way for further research on some typical teen behavior.

根据第三段中““Cognitive empathy,” or the mental ability to take others’ perspective, begins to rise steadily in girls at the age of 13, according to the study co-authored by Jolien van der Graaff at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. By comparison, boys do not begin until the age of 15 to show increases in perspective-taking, which helps in problem -solving and avoiding conflict.( 荷兰乌得勒支大学(Utrecht University)的乔利恩·范德格拉夫(joolien van der Graaff)与人合著的这项研究表明,女孩的“认知同理心”,即站在他人角度思考的心理能力,在13岁时开始稳步上升。相比之下,男孩直到15岁才开始表现出换位思考的能力,这有助于解决问题和避免冲突。)”可知,男孩直到 15 岁才开始在换位思考能力上有所提升,也就是说在 15 岁之前,青少年男孩不太可能设身处地为他人着想。故选A项。
根据第四段中“Adolescent boys actually show a temporary decline, between the ages of 13 and 16, in a related skill — “affective empathy (情感同理心),” or the ability to recognize and respond to others’ feelings. This may be the result, at least in part, of a dramatic rise in testosterone (睾酮), the primary male sex hormone, during adolescence, which sparks a desire for dominance and power.( 青春期男孩在13岁到16岁之间,在一项相关技能——“情感同理心”,或识别并回应他人感受的能力上,实际上会出现暂时的衰退。这可能是青春期男性主要性激素睾丸激素急剧上升的结果,至少在一定程度上是这样,睾丸激素会激发对统治和权力的渴望。)”可知,青春期男孩在13到16岁期间情感同理心会暂时下降,这导致他们倾向于忽视他人的感受,也就是说他们的情感同理心在青春期变得不稳定。故选B项。
65.推理判断题。根据第五段中“Children learn to practice empathy by watching their parents and by experiencing it themselves-being well treated by adults who sensitively respond to their emotions.( 孩子们通过观察他们的父母和亲身体验来学习同理心——被那些对他们的情绪敏感的成年人善待。)”
根据第一段中“A six -year study shows that biology is partly to blame.( 一项为期六年的研究表明,生物学是部分原因。)”可知,她的团队花了很长时间(六年)得出结论,A 项正确;根据最后一段中“Research in her lab also suggests that cognitive empathy rises in teens.( 她实验室的研究还表明,青少年的认知同理心会增强。)”可知,Jennifer Pfeifer的研究支持了Graaff的研究发现,即认知同理心在青少年时期会上升,C项正确;根据最后一段中“The discoveries serve as a new lens for exploring such teen behavior as bullying and drug abuse.( 这些发现为探索欺凌和滥用药物等青少年行为提供了新的视角。)”
Section C
Directions: Complete the following passage by using the sentences in the box Each sentence can only be used once. Note that there are two sentences more than you need.
【答案】67.E 68.D 69.C 70.A
67.根据上文““Finding” a passion implies that it already exists and is simply waiting to be discovered. (“找到”激情意味着它已经存在,只是在等待被发现)”以及后文“They often begin with a spark of curiosity about a subject and later, through a process involving repeated engagement, positive experiences and increased knowledge, people come to personally value that content or activity and internalize it. What was at first interesting becomes an interest. If these qualities continue to intensify, a passion can emerge. (他们通常从对一个主题的好奇开始,后来,通过一个过程,包括反复参与,积极的经历和增加的知识,人们个人开始重视内容或活动,并将其内化。起初有趣的事情变成了一种兴趣。如果这些品质持续增强,激情就会浮现。)”可知,本句与上文构成转折,上文提到激情天然已经存在,后文则说明激情是一个探索的过程,故E选项“但是科学告诉我们,激情是培养出来的。”符合语境,故选E。
68.根据上文“To study these ideas, we use a framework of “fixed” and growth mindsets. In school, thinking of one’s intellectual abilities as fixed can be harmful, whereas believing one can develop and grow skills supports greater learning. (为了研究这些想法,我们使用了“固定”和成长型思维模式的框架。在学校里,认为一个人的智力是固定的可能是有害的,而相信一个人可以发展和增长技能有助于更好的学习。)”以及后文“People who think interest and passions are relatively unchangeable have a fixed mindset of interest. In contrast, people who view interests and passions as developed have a growth mindset of interest. (那些认为兴趣和激情是相对不可改变的人有一种固定的兴趣心态。相反,那些认为兴趣和激情是成熟的人有一种兴趣成长心态。)”可知,上文提到“认为一个人的智力是固定的可能是有害的,而相信一个人可以发展和增长技能有助于更好的学习”,本句为过渡句,引出后文关于兴趣和激情关系的观点。故D选项“现在,我们争论一个独立但相关的观点。”符合语境,故选D。
69.根据上文“The latter comes with many advantages. A fixed mindset of interest, for example, may hold back exploration and creativity. (后者有很多优点。例如,固定的兴趣心态可能会阻碍探索和创造力。)”以及后文“We have also found that people with a fixed mindset of interest tend to expect their passions to come easily to them. Those with a growth mindset maintained their new-found interest despite the difficulty. (我们还发现,有固定兴趣心态的人倾向于期望他们的激情来得容易。那些拥有成长型思维模式的人,尽管困难重重,仍然保持着他们新发现的兴趣。)”可知,本句主要是针对固定心态和成长性心态进行对比,故C选项“另外,固定心态的人比成长型心态的人更不可能产生整合不同学科的新颖解决方案。”符合语境,故选C。
70.根据上文“So how can we foster a growth mindset of interest? Realize that passions aren’t waiting to be “found. ” Take an active role in developing them. (那么,我们如何培养兴趣的成长心态呢?要意识到激情不是等着被“发现”的。在发展这些方面发挥积极作用。)”以及后文“A growth mindset will help you remain open and curious. (成长型心态会帮助你保持开放和好奇。)”可知,本句承接上文,说明如何培养激情的具体方式与保持开放和好奇有关。故A选项“满足你的好奇心,不要期望新的追求总是容易或令人兴奋的。”符合语境,故选A。
IV.Summary Writing (共10分)
71.Directions: Read the following passage. Summarize the main idea and the main point (s) of the passage in no more than 60 words. Use your own words as far as possible.

Full - sun production of coffee beans caused damage to some species, even the ecology. First, it destroys the habitats of local species. Moreover, with water poisoned and fewer species for medical research, people’s life is affected. The destruction of the rainforest ecology seems inevitable, accompanied by air pollution, global warming etc. Therefore, consumers are advised to buy shade - grown coffee.
①The production of coffee beans is a huge, profitable business, but, unfortunately, full -sun production is taking over the industry and bringing about a lot of damage.

Directions:Translate the following sentences into English, using the words given in the brackets
(what)(汉译英)
What makes this museum wonderful is that it integrates the changes in the countryside, the marks of time, and the memories of childhood into a fixed space.
可用make+宾语+宾补,宾语为this museum,形容词wonderful作宾补;后跟表语从句,从句不缺少成分或句意故用that引导;主语为it;表示“融合”用integrate…into…;表示“乡村的变迁”为the changes in the countryside;表示“时光的痕迹”为the marks of time;表示“童年的回忆”为the memories of childhood;表示“一个固定的空间里”为a fixed space。 What makes this museum wonderful is that it integrates the changes in the countryside, the marks of time, and the memories of childhood into a fixed space.
(rather than) (汉译英)
When you encounter unexpected challenges, the priority is to find the key to the problem and solutions, rather than sit around feeling sorry for yourself.
主句主语为“当务之急”可译为the priority,是单数,谓语动词用is,“找到问题的关键和解决的对策”作表语,用不定式形式,译为to find the key to the problem and solutions, the key to“……的关键”,rather than“而不是”,连接并列不定式作表语,可省略不定式符号,接动词原形,sit around“闲坐”,“自怨自艾”译为feel sorry for yourself,用现在分词形式作伴随状语,故答案为When you encounter unexpected challenges, the priority is to find the key to the problem and solutions, rather than sit around feeling sorry for yourself.
(which) (汉译英)
Selectively bred crops have been transformed beyond recognition, which makes them appear entirely different from their wild progenitors.
为make sth. do;表示“完全不同”可用appear entirely different from;表示为“野生的祖先”their wild progenitors。故填Selectively bred crops have been transformed beyond recognition, which makes them appear entirely different from their wild progenitors.
This dessert shop with a distinctive European romantic charm, featuring the rich aroma of butter and a visually stunning experience, has a constant flow of customers, bringing a new lease of life to this once-dying commercial street since its opening.
表示“颇具欧式浪漫之都魅力”用介词短语 “with a distinctive European romantic charm”作后置定语修饰“这家甜品店”,翻译为“This dessert shop”;“以……为特色”,根据题目要求使用feature,这里用现在分词 featuring 作伴随状语,“馥郁的黄油香气”翻译为“the rich aroma of butter”,“靓丽的视觉体验”翻译为“a visually stunning experience”;“车水马龙”也就是“有源源不断的顾客”,用“has a constant flow of customers”,因句子表示的是一个客观情况,谓语动词使用一般现在时;“让……焕发第二春”可理解为“使……重获生机”,常用短语“bring a new lease of life to...”,这里用现在分词短语“bringing a new lease of life to...” This dessert shop with a distinctive European romantic charm, featuring the rich aroma of butter and a visually stunning experience, has a constant flow of customers, bringing a new lease of life to this once-dying commercial street since its opening.

A
When I look back on my childhood, one aspect stands out in my memory: my love of history.
