First time dog owners may meet many problems and get to know how to train their pets. Sometimes a puppy, or even an older dog, will chew their fingers or bite them. Even in play, this can really hurt. Unfortunately, many pet owners tolerate this in a young dog. However, when the dog gets larger, it is not fun to be bitten by it. Training a dog never to place his teeth on human skin or clothing is an important lesson. From now on, if you feel your dog’s teeth while you are playing with him, say “Ouch” in a loud voice and move away from him. He will soon learn that when he bites, you will not play with him any more.
Many people have another bad habit. They tend to allow their pets to bite and hold on to clothing. Don’t let your dog do this to you. When he does something you want him to do, praise him and tell him he’s a good dog. You can also give him a treated at the same time he performs the good behavior. Eventually he will learn which kind of behavior is acceptable and which is not. Remember that reward is more effective than punishment. If you reward your dog when he does what you want him to, he will become very well-behaved. Also remember that puppies need to chew on something. So give him a tied stocking or an old shoe. If he chews the wrong thing, take it away while saying “No” and give him something he can chew. If dogs are trained well, they will truly be your friends for a lifetime.

A.return B.reply C.award D.advice

Family rules help children learn what is and isn’t OK in the family. Following them can help children learn to follow rules in other places, so it’s not good to make rules too late. Good family rules are easy for children to understand.
One day, on the way home from school, my mom tells me she is going to make some new rules for me, also for my brothers and sisters. Before this, we know she wants us to be good, but we really don’t have any rules. Well, Mom cares about that. On Sunday she starts giving us some new rules. Clean your rooms every other day. Be ready for dinner at 7:00 p.m. That means sitting at the table with clean hands. If Mom is having a meeting in the house, be quiet. That means turning down the music and the TV. Be ready for bed at 9:30 p.m. and get up at 7:30 a.m. to prepare for school. Take out the rubbish on Monday morning before going to school. Clean the bathroom on Friday.
Following these rules isn’t too hard, and sometimes it’s even fun. But in other times, it can be tough. For example, if your room is really dirty and you can’t finish cleaning it on that day, you have to finish it on the next day, along with something else you have to do. That isn’t easy.
