Book 2 Unit 3 On the move (Developing ideas) 德保高中 韦彩靓 Text Running into a better life Lesson type Reading &Writing Text analysis The discourse type of this paper is forum discussion. This article is an illustrated story of four runners who have made positive changes in their lives. By comparing the "before" and "after" states, the stories of these four people show that running not only positively affects the individual's body and mind, but also changes the community and the world to some extent. Therefore, based on the above analysis, we can see that this paper has gone beyond the idea that running only affects individuals, and running has become a way to improve ourselves and the society. Students analysis This course is aimed at students of Class 7, Grade One, who have different language levels. Therefore, for students with weak foundation, it is necessary to remove barriers in terms of new words, such as asthma, physical, psychological, network, tension, gorilla, die out, etc. However, students are familiar with running and have a general understanding of the benefits of running to individuals, so they are not likely to develop dyslexia due to the unfamiliar subject matter. However, students rarely have the opportunity to think deeply about the benefits of running in their lives, so they need some guidance in understanding the impact of running on community and society. This is also the difficulty of this class, so students should dig deep into the text in the process of reading, break through the personal benefits of running, expand their understanding of running from the text, and ponder the impact of running on the society and the world. Teaching objectives 1. Language objectives: Students are able to master the vocabulary and sentence patterns of “benefits” and apply them to writing. 2. Ability objectives: Students are able to understand the text and experience a positive attitude towards life from each story by retelling the stories of several runners. 3. Cultural awareness: Students are able to relate to their own realities, deepen their understanding of the meaning of the unit theme, and tell stories about the benefits they have gained from sports.
