根据“The Joy Luck Club, by Amy Tan”下面的“The four Chinese women have to solve a lot of problems caused by different cultures.(四位中国女性必须解决由不同文化造成的许多问题。)” 故选A。 根据“The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Kidd”下面的“During the civil rights(公民权) movement of the mid-1960s, a young white Southern girl goes on the lam(逃走) with her family’s African-American housekeeper, hoping to solve the mystery of her mother who gave her up.(在20世纪60年代中期的民权运动中,一个年轻的南方白人女孩和她家的非裔美国管家一起逃亡,希望解开她母亲抛弃她的谜团。)”可知,The Secret Life of Bees主要讲述了一个年轻女孩试图了解关于母亲抛弃她的原因的故事。 根据文章首段“We studied reading lists from around the country and found the following books. There’s a good chance you will open one of them this summer.(我们研究了全国各地的阅读清单,发现了以下书籍。今年夏天你很有可能打开它们其中一本。)”并结合下文分别介绍的书籍信息可知,本篇文章旨在给高中生介绍一些适合暑期阅读的书籍。故答案为D。 B Simon James is a super-trail runner (越野跑步者) who encourages people to reconnect with nature in the name of exercise. He has completed Super Trail in the Alps, the Andes and the Himalayas. A late-night bet with a client (客户) got him tied to running. “In 2006, a business client challenged me one evening in a bar to a 36-hour walk across 54 miles of the West Highland Way, and I foolishly said ‘yes’,” James said. “He then rang me the next day to tell me we would be running it.” At the time, James was 20 kilograms overweight and the longest he had run before that was just under 8 miles, but he managed to finish that run and has never looked back. According to a report, two-thirds of adults in the U.K. are overweight, one-fifth suffering from depression (抑郁). The huge influence caused by modern lifestyle has worsened these issues. We are aware of the importance of exercise in everyday life, and no amount of virtual meetings can make up for direct social contact. James said, “Only one thing can fix these problems — trail running.” What is unique about trail running, he explained, is that “it reconnects us to our beautiful nature and connects our physical, mental and spiritual aspects, as well as providing us with an experience which can connect us to other people”. Inspired, he quit his city life of working 16-hour-plus-days as a banker, and spent more time in trails and mountains. James is now in charge of the trail running company Run the Wild. He said every run has been a gift following a physical operation in 2015, even though his doctor told that he could hardly run again. He said, “The outdoors is such a great place for us all to experience.” 24. How did Simon James take part in trail running? A. He was inspired by a friend. B. He tried to deal with his health issue. C. He made a bet with a client. D. He had a passion for workout. 25. What do we know about trail running? A. It focuses largely on overweight British people. B. It has little influence on people’s mental health. C. It connects people through virtual community. D. It helps to build the social connection for people. 26. Which word can best describe Simon? A. Adventurous. B. Sociable. C. Kind-hearted. D. Determined. 27. What can be the best title of this text? A. A Unique Experience B. Running Wonder C. A Trail to Nature D. Depression Disorders 【答案】24. C 25. D 26. D 27. 根据第一段中“A late-night bet with a client (客户) got him tied to running. (深夜和客户打赌让他和跑步扯上了关系)”可知,Simon James参与越野跑是因为他和客户打了个赌。故选C项。 【25题详解】 细节理解题。根据第五段“What is unique about trail running, he explained, is that “it reconnects us to our beautiful nature and connects our physical, mental and spiritual aspects, as well as providing us with an experience which can connect us to other people”. (他解释说,越野跑的独特之处在于,“它将我们与美丽的大自然重新联系起来,将我们的身体、心理和精神方面联系起来,并为我们提供一种将我们与其他人联系起来的体验。”)”可知,越野跑有助于建立人们的社会联系。故选D项。 【26题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段“At the time, James was 20 kilograms overweight and the longest he had run before that was just under 8 miles, but he managed to finish that run and has never looked back. (当时,James超重20公斤,在那之前他跑过的最长距离不到8英里,但他成功地跑完全程,并且从未回头)”和最后一段中“He said every run has been a gift following a physical operation in 2015, even though his doctor told that he could hardly run again. (他说,自从2015年接受手术后,每次跑步都是一份礼物,尽管他的医生告诉他很难再跑步了)”可知,虽然当时身体状况不理想,但Simon James第一次进行长距离越野跑就成功坚持了下来,而且在接受手术后也一直在跑步。由此可知,他是一个意志坚定的人。故选D项。 【27题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是第一段中“Simon James is a super-trail runner (越野跑步者) who encourages people to reconnect with nature in the name of exercise. C It turns out that overworking your brain with either physical or mental exercise may lower your ability to put off self-satisfaction. And that may set you up for poor choices in your eating habits, self-care and finances. In a new study, athletes were asked to overtrain for three out of nine weeks, and scientists compared them to a group who did a normal 9-week training program. Not only did those overworked athletes perform worse on a cycling test at the end of the over-training, MRIs (磁共振成像像片) of their brains during behavioral tasks also showed more tiredness in the cognitive control part of the brain system. “Cognitive control in this situation is the ability to keep exercising without being prevented by things like muscle pain,” said study author Bastien Blain, a researcher at University College London. “And what we found is that there is an intellectual part involved in exercising and it has a limited ability. You cannot use it forever.” In other words, your brain will burn out and affect your body’s ability to exercise. But that’s not all. Overworking that part of the brain also reduced the athletes’ abilities to fight temptation of immediate self-satisfaction. “For example, they were asked whether they preferred $10 now or $50 in six months,” Blain said. “And those who over trained were more likely to choose $10 now.” Blain had done a similar study in 2016. A group of 58 adults performed hard tasks over a 6-hour period, then underwent MRI imaging and were asked if they would choose $5 now or $50 later. Researchers found overworked brains were much more likely to choose $5 now. In fact, another study done by Cornier found that regular limited exercise was related to reducing the wish to eat. “Those people consume less and they lost weight. And the more we saw that change in brain activity due to exercise, the more weight they lost,” Cornier said. 28. What happened to the overworked athletes in the study? A. They would get tired of normal training. B. They behaved better in the cycling test. C. They improved their self-satisfaction. D. They did poorly in cognitive control. 29. What did Blain find in 2016? A. MRI imaging made people clever. B. Adults preferred challenging tasks. C. A 6-hour period of exercise benefited people. D. Overworked people tend to choose immediate rewards. 30. According to Cornier, why can people lose weight by doing limited exercise regularly? A. It makes people eat less B. It consumes much energy. C. It helps people to feel good. D. It improves people’s sleep. 31. Which of the following statements is TRUE according to the text? A. Overworked athletes performed better in the cycling test. B. Blain’s 2016 study involved children as participants. C. Cornier found that intense exercise increases appetite. D. Both physical and mental overwork can reduce the ability to delay self-satisfaction. D 29. D 30. A 31. 根据第二段中“Not only did those overworked athletes perform worse on a cycling test at the end of the over-training, MRIs (磁共振成像像片) of their brains during behavioral tasks also showed more tiredness in the cognitive control part of the brain system.( 这些过度训练的运动员不仅在过度训练结束后的自行车测试中表现更差,他们在执行行为任务时的大脑核磁共振成像也显示,大脑系统的认知控制部分更加疲劳)”可知,过度训练的运动员在认知控制方面表现不佳。 根据第四段中“Blain had done a similar study in 2016. A group of 58 adults performed hard tasks over a 6-hour period, then underwent MRI imaging and were asked if they would choose $5 now or $50 later. Researchers found overworked brains were much more likely to choose $5 now.( 布莱恩在2016年做了一项类似的研究。一组58名成年人在6个小时的时间里完成了艰巨的任务,然后接受了核磁共振成像检查,并被问及他们是现在选择5美元还是以后选择50美元。研究人员发现,过度劳累的大脑现在更有可能选择5美元)” 可知,布莱恩在2016年的研究中发现过度劳累的人倾向于选择即时奖励。故选D项。 【30题详解】 细节理解题。根据最后一段“In fact, another study done by Cornier found that regular limited exercise was related to reducing the wish to eat. “Those people consume less and they lost weight. And the more we saw that change in brain activity due to exercise, the more weight they lost,” Cornier said.( 事实上,科尼尔的另一项研究发现,有规律的有限运动与减少食欲有关。“这些人吃得少,体重也减轻了。我们观察到的运动导致的大脑活动变化越多,他们减掉的体重就越多。”)”可知,人们通过定期适度锻炼减肥是因为它让人吃得更少。故选A项。 根据第一段中“It turns out that overworking your brain with either physical or mental exercise may lower your ability to put off self-satisfaction.( 事实证明,通过身体或精神锻炼让大脑过度劳累可能会降低你推迟自我满足的能力)”可知,无论是身体还是精神上的过度锻炼,都可能降低你推迟自我满足的能力。故选D项。 D “Instagram (a social networking app) will cut out many users’ accounts on December 20. To protect your account, repost this warning #KeepMyAccountSafe#.” Every few months, it happens again — a dozen of such annoying posts from my kids and their friends suddenly start to appear on my Instagram. According to a new study by Stanford University, most kids don’t know what news is fake (假的). Researchers asked more than 7,800 middle school and high school students to complete 56 tasks, like telling the difference between an advertisement and a real news story on a website and determining which blog in a series was most reliable. Surprisingly, they found that students judged the credibility (可信性) of blogs based not on the source of the material, but on how much detail they contained, or whether a large photo was attached. “Many people assume that because young people are fluent in social media, they can recognize fake news, but our work shows the opposite to be true,” wrote lead study author Sam Wineburg, a professor at Stanford’s Graduate School of Education. Both Google and Facebook are now taking steps to control misleading news from making its way on their platforms, but they won’t be able to eliminate it completely. That is why it’s now more important than ever to teach our kids to think critically when it comes to believing various information sources. “In the coming months, we look forward to sharing our assessments and working with educators to create materials that will guide young people in the sea of disinformation they encounter online,” said Wineburg. 32. How does the author introduce the topic of the passage? A. By stating an opinion. B. By conducting a study. C. By explaining a saying. D. By quoting a post. 33. What determines the credibility of online information according to researchers? A. The source of the material. B. The popularity of the website. C. The amount of detail. D. The size of relevant photos. 34. What does the underlined word “eliminate” in paragraph 4 mean? A. Download. B. Update. C. Rate. D. Remove. 35. Which of the following can be the best title for the text? A. Stronger Together: The Internet Changes Our Life B Be Careful: Kids Are Bad at Identifying Fake News C. Reliable News Has No Place on Social Media D. Educators Have a Long Way to Go to Guide the Young 【答案】32. D 33. A 34. D 35. 根据第一段““Instagram (a social networking app) will cut out many users’ accounts on December 20. To protect your account, repost this warning #KeepMyAccountSafe.” Every few months, it happens again-a dozen of annoying posts from my kids’ friends suddenly start to appear on my Instagram news feed.(“12月20日,社交网络应用Instagram将删除许多用户的账户。为了保护你的账户,请转发这个警告#KeepMyAccountSafe。”每隔几个月,这种情况就会再次发生——孩子们的朋友们发布的十几条烦人的帖子会突然出现在我的Instagram信息流中)”以及第二段中的“According to a new study by Stanford University, most kids don’t know what news is fake( 假的). (根据斯坦福大学的一项新研究,大多数孩子不知道什么新闻是假的)”可推知,作者通过引用一篇帖子来引出文章的主题。故选D。 【33题详解】 细节理解题。推理判断题。根据第二段中“According to a new study by Stanford University, most kids don’t know what news is false.(根据斯坦福大学的一项新研究,大多数孩子不知道什么新闻是假的)”和“They found that students judged the credibility of blogs based not on the source of the material, but on how much detail they contained, or whether a large photo was attached.(他们发现,学生们判断博客的可信度不是基于材料的来源,而是基于它们包含多少细节,或者是否附有一张大照片)”可知,研究人员认为,大多数孩子不知道什么新闻是假的,是因为他们判断博客的可信度不是基于材料的来源。 故选A。 根据画线词所在的句子“Both Google and Facebook are now taking steps to control misleading news from making its way on their platforms, but they won’t be able to eliminate it completely.(谷歌和Facebook现在都在采取措施控制误导性新闻在他们的平台上传播,但他们不可能完全eliminate这些新闻)”可知,but表示转折,说明谷歌和Facebook不可能完全消除这些新闻。 Money habits are the small daily decisions we make that influence how we spend and save our money. Samantha was in such a good mood at that moment, just like the white clouds in the blue sky, because as a nurse, she seldom had time to relax. “She was always on-duty and putting everybody first before herself.” Kieran said. Suddenly, terrible things happened. A loud crash came into her ear, followed by people screaming. A car crashed at the comer of West Broad Street and West End Drive in Henrico. The damaged car rolled round and round, and finally stopped at the side of a telephone pole. “Jesus!” passers-by stood there stunned. Seeing this, two police officers and a citizen soon rushed towards the car, positioning their body weight against the vehicle to keep it from moving. “Help! Help! The driver is bleeding heavily!” A man shouted anxiously. Samantha’s heart was in her mouth, and her professional ability sent her rushing to the scene of the accident, even if she didn’t know whether anyone was alive or not. Although she knew that pregnancy might cause trouble to her actions, she did not hesitate because she knew that every second could make a difference between life and death. Paragraph 1: Samantha hurried to the driver. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: An ambulance soon arrived and Samantha was rushed to the hospital. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 She hurried to the driver. Seeing that he was unconscious, she quickly checked his breathing and pulse and found that his heartbeat was weak. Immediately she started CPR, in the meantime shouting to passers-by to call emergency service. Absorbed in the first aid, sweat ran down her forehead. Suddenly, Samantha felt a sharp pain coming from her belly. Her face gradually turned pale, but she still gritted her teeth and carried on because she knew this driver needed her. After the driver’s condition got better, she finally sighed with relief. Exhaustion and pain in her belly made her fall down in a faint. The ambulance soon arrived and Samantha was rushed to hospital. Doctors quickly conducted a thorough examination and treatment to Samantha, after which both her and the baby were stabilized. A few days later, the driver’s family visited Samantha in her ward with a bunch of flowers, hugging her tightly to express their sincere gratitude. “It’s you that give him the chance to live.” Before leaving, They left a small gift—a handicraft with the inscription “To a nurse, a mother, and a brave woman.” At the sight of this, a mixture of warmth and relief flooded over Samantha. She knew that she had fulfilled her duty as a nurse with the right and worthwhile decision. 词汇激活 行为类 ①看见:see/find/spot ②摔倒:fall down/fall over/tumble down ③坚持,继续:carry on/go on/keep going 情绪类 ①感谢:gratitude/appreciation ②宽慰:relief/comfort 【点睛】[高分句型1] Seeing that he was unconscious, she quickly checked his breathing and pulse and found that his heartbeat was weak.(运用了现在分词作状语及that引导的宾语从句) [高分句型2]It’s you that give him the chance to live. B Simon James is a super-trail runner (越野跑步者) who encourages people to reconnect with nature in the name of exercise. He said every run has been a gift following a physical operation in 2015 even though his doctor told that he could hardly run again. Depression Disorders C It turns out that overworking your brain with either physical or mental exercise may lower your ability to put off self-satisfaction. D “Instagram (a social networking app) will cut out many users’ accounts on December 20. A. Stronger Together: The Internet Changes Our Life B. Be Careful: Kids Are Bad at Identifying Fake News C. Reliable News Has No Place on Social Media D. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $听力考试正式开始。 Excuse me, can you tell me how much the shirt is?
