根据Gladesville Bistro (小餐馆)部分中的“Your children will receive a free cup of popcorn with every kid's meal purchased.” 根据 MUMU Grill部分中的“Business Hours:Monday to Friday: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday to Sunday: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.(MUMU Grill的营业时间分别是星期一到星期五的下午4点到6点,周六周日的下午2点到7点。 故选A。 23. 根据Flying Fox Café部分中的“The weather can sometimes influence the closing time.” 根据第二段“That's when Matt realized he didn't have a gift for Dorothy. No one else would have one either. He felt a sad lump in his stomach.(这时Matt意识到他没有礼物送给Dorothy。 根据第三段“While eating, Matt suddenly remembered that kids often included candy hearts with the new year gifts they exchanged. An idea popped into his head. He whispered it to the kids around him.(吃饭的时候,Matt突然想起孩子们经常在交换新年礼物时附上心形糖果。 根据文章第三段“While eating, Matt suddenly remembered that kids often included candy hearts with the new year gifts they exchanged. An idea popped into his head. He whispered it to the kids around him. Soon everyone at the table was nodding and whispering.(吃饭的时候,Matt突然想起孩子们经常在交换新年礼物时附上心形糖果。 故选A。 由第一段中“But designer Mikhail Belyaev doesn’t think that forgetting to check the weather forecast before heading out should result in you getting wet. (但设计师米哈伊尔·贝利亚耶夫并不认为出门前忘记查看天气预报会导致你淋湿)”,第二段中“Once, I was driving on a central Saint Petersburg street and saw the street lamps lighting up people trying to hide from the rain. I thought it would be appropriate to have a canopy (伞蓬) built into a street lamp. 我觉得在路灯上加一个雨棚是合适的)”和第三段中“Sensors (传感器) then ensure that the umbrella offers pedestrians shelter whenever it starts raining. 由第三段中“It has a built-in electric motor which can open or close the umbrella on demand. Sensors (传感器) then ensure that the umbrella offers pedestrians shelter whenever it starts raining. 由第五段“According to the designer, the lampbrella would move at a relatively low speed, so as not to cause harm to the pedestrians. Besides, it would be grounded to protect from possible lightning strike. Each lampbrella would offer enough shelter for several people. Being installed at 2 meters off the ground, it would only be a danger for the tallest of pedestrians. 由最后一段“While there are no plans to take lampbrella into production, Belyaev says he recently introduced his creation to one Moscow Department, and insists this creation could be installed on any street where a lot of people walk but there are no canopies to provide shelter. 故选A项。 根据第一段中“This has been termed the ‘bystander effect’—a well-known psychological phenomenon where individuals are less likely to offer help to someone when other people are present.(这被称为“旁观者效应”——一种众所周知的心理现象,当别人在场时,人们不太可能主动提供帮助。)” 根据第二段中“Research from the British Heart Foundation has suggested that a third of people would not give first aid if they saw someone collapse on the street, with some even admitting they wouldn’t call an ambulance.(英国心脏基金会的研究表明,如果看到有人晕倒在街上,三分之一的人不会进行急救,有些人甚至承认他们不会叫救护车。)” 根据第三段内容,尤其是“There are various factors contributing to this effect(造成这种影响的因素有很多)”以及“It is also partly down to ‘pluralistic ignorance’(这在一定程度上也归因于“多元无知”)”可知,本段主要解释人们不提供帮助的原因,故选D。 35. 根据全文内容,结合最后一段中“Ignore everyone else and go with your gut—If you’d run for help, do it.” 37. 根据设空处上一句“That didn’t bother me too much.”和设空处下一句“That really upset me and at the time, I was absolutely furious at that comment.” 40. 根据设空处上一句“I now consider this incident as a great gift.”和设空处下一句“I probably wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t taken the time to figure out why I was really so angry.” 41.B 42.B 43.D 44.C 45.C 46.A 47.D 48.B 49.C 50.A 51.B 52.D 53.A 54.C 55.C 【语篇解读】 本文是一篇记叙文,讲述了作者一整年都在踢足球,虽然辛苦,但他依然坚持,永不言弃。 A:avoid“避免”;B:continue“继续”;C:finish“完成”;D:risk “冒险”,根据上文中的“I have played soccer and other sports since I was about years old”和下文中介绍"我"思想的转变可知,本空所在句描述的是作者曾经的想法——以为自己到了青少年时期仍然会继续进行自己所有喜欢的运动。故选B。 42. A:remembered“记住”;B:realized“实现,意识到”;C:imagined“想象”;D:regretted“后悔,遗憾”。 A:change“改变,变化”;B:prepare“准备”;C:stop“停止”;D:choose“选择”。 A:work“工作”;B:games“比赛”;C:training“训练”;D:tours “旅游”。 A:space“太空”;B:money“钱”;C:room“空间,机会”;D:surprise “惊喜”。 A:sport“运动”;B:club“俱乐部”;C:plan“计划”;D:spirit “精神”。根据上文中的“ you have to just    3     a sport ”及下文中的”I decided to play soccer year-round”可知,这里指运动,故选A。 47. A:competing“比赛”;B:trying“尝试,努力”;C:running“跑”;D:practicing “练习”。空后的“five days a week”与上文中的“doing three to five days of    4      a week”呼应,介绍作者每周有五天的时间在训练。故选D。 48. A:class“班,课”;B:injury“伤”;C:program“项目,计划”;D:treatment “治疗”。根据下文中的“Four other players had knee injuries as well”可知,作者和其他四名队友都经历了因过度使用膝盖而造成的膝盖损伤。故选B。 49. A:well“好”;B:far“远”;C:hard“努力地”;D:fast“快”。根据上文中“When I decided to play soccer year-round, we were   7     five days a week, and we had games on the weekends. A:around“在....周围,围绕”;B:back“向后,后面”;C:through“通过”;D:forward“向前” 。根据空后“I stayed at home for eight weeks”可知,此处指膝盖受伤阻止了作者前进的脚步。 A:looked out for“当心”;B:gave way to“让路”;C:took care of“照顾”;D:missed out on “错失获利(或取乐等)的机会”。 A:fail“失败,未能(做到)”;B:start“开始,启动”;C:refuse“拒绝”;D:offer “提供”。根据上文“If you are doing three to five days of   4   a week, this leaves little   5    for other activities”,说明踢球让作者失去了参加许多活动的机会,故选A。 54. A:Because of“因为”;B:Except for“除了”;C:Instead of“代替”;D:Along with “和..... A:values“价值,观念”;B:rules“规则”;C:disadvantages“缺点”;D:expectations “期待”。 56.to honor 57.who     58.for    59.the     60.adding B Matt counted his new year gifts one more time as he tucked a robot-shaped eraser into each envelope. He prepared gifts for everyone for the next day's party. When Matt got to school the next day, he saw a new girl in his classroom. She stood near Ms. Robins and looked around shyly. "This is Dorothy," said Ms. Robins. "Will someone volunteer to show her around today?" Matt raised his hand. He liked helping new kids feel welcome. "Thanks, Matt," Ms. Robins said. "Now let's get busy with our work so we're done in time for the party." That's when Matt realized he didn't have a gift for Dorothy. No one else would have one either. He felt a sad lump in his stomach. As he showed Dorothy around, he was careful not to mention the party. At lunchtime, he walked Dorothy to the lunchroom, still worried about what would happen at the party. Dorothy had brought a packed lunch, so Matt showed her where she should sit and went back to his usual seat. While eating, Matt suddenly remembered that kids often included candy hearts with the new year gifts they exchanged. An idea popped into his head. He whispered it to the kids around him. Soon everyone at the table was nodding and whispering. When they were back in the classroom after lunch, Matt told Ms. Robins about their plan. Ms. Robins agreed with a nodding smile. It was math time, so Matt invited Dorothy to study with him. He made sure Dorothy sat with her back to the room so she wouldn't notice her new classmates passing around an exquisite paper bag Ms. Robins prepared to collect their candy hearts. Before long, it was party time. They played games and then had cookies and juice. Finally, they passed out their gifts. The room buzzed with happy chatter. Matt saw the sad look on Dorothy's face as she glanced at other kids' desks overflowing with envelopes. "Here's your gift, Dorothy," Matt said, placing the paper bag in front of her. "It's from everyone." Dorothy stared at the beautiful bag full of "hearts". "We wanted you to have a special New Year's Day too," said Matt. "Thank you," Dorothy said, smiling at her new classmates. "It really is a special day!" 24.Why did Matt feel a sad lump in his stomach? A.He was guilty for forgetting about Dorothy. B.He was worried that Dorothy would be angry. C.He was afraid Dorothy wouldn't like the party. D.He was concerned that Dorothy would feel left out. 25.What does the underlined word "it" refer to in paragraph 3? A.Keeping the party a secret. B.Gathering candy hearts as a gift. C.Inviting Dorothy to study together. D.Including candy hearts in every gift. 26.Which of the following words best describes Matt? A.Innovative. B.Considerate. C.Modest. D.Generous. 27.What's the best title for the text? A.A Hearty Welcome B.A New Year Tradition C.The First Day of School D.The Reward of Kindness C You can’t always predict a heavy rain or remember your umbrella. But designer Mikhail Belyaev doesn’t think that forgetting to check the weather forecast before heading out should result in you getting wet. That’s why he created lampbrella, a lamp post with its own rain sensing umbrella. The designer says he come up with the idea after watching people get wet on streets in Russia. “Once, I was driving on a central Saint Petersburg street and saw the street lamps lighting up people trying to hide from the rain. I thought it would be appropriate to have a canopy (伞蓬) built into a street lamp.” he said.     The lampbrella is a standard-looking street lamp fitted with an umbrella canopy. It has a built-in electric motor which can open or close the umbrella on demand. Sensors (传感器) then ensure that the umbrella offers pedestrians shelter whenever it starts raining. In addition to the rain sensor, there’s also a 360° motion sensor on the fiberglass street lamp which detects whether anyone’s using the lampbrella. After three minutes of not being used the canopy is closed. According to the designer, the lampbrella would move at a relatively low speed, so as not to cause harm to the pedestrians. Besides, it would be grounded to protect from possible lightning strike. Each lampbrella would offer enough shelter for several people. Being installed at 2 meters off the ground, it would only be a danger for the tallest of pedestrians. While there are no plans to take lampbrella into production, Belyaev says he recently introduced his creation to one Moscow Department, and insists this creation could be installed on any street where a lot of people walk but there are no canopies to provide shelter. 28.Belyaev created the lampbrella aiming to _______. A.predict a heavy rain B.help people avoid getting wet in the rain C.check the weather forecast D.remind people to take an umbrella 29.How does the lampbrella work? However, subsequent investigations concluded that several people saw or heard what was happening, but no one intervened. This has been termed the “bystander effect”—a well-known psychological phenomenon where individuals are less likely to offer help to someone when other people are present. The more people there are, the less likely they are to help. None of us like to think we’d walk on by when someone needed our help. But sometimes we behave in ways we wouldn’t expect when faced with a situation we are unsure about. While we might like to think we would rush to someone’s assistance, we know from studies that people often hang back. Research from the British Heart Foundation has suggested that a third of people would not give first aid if they saw someone collapse on the street, with some even admitting they wouldn’t call an ambulance. There are various factors contributing to this effect—people think that others will get involved. Afterwards people often say they did not feel qualified or important enough to be the one to intervene. It is also partly down to “pluralistic ignorance”—since everyone is not reacting to the emergency, they don’t need to either; it’s not serious because no one else is doing anything. Other studies have shown that once people are aware of the bystander effect, they are less likely to be affected by it. Self-awareness is the best solution to it. When facing an emergency, think to yourself how you would behave if you were on your own. Ignore everyone else and go with your gut (直觉)—If you’d run for help, do it. If that’s how you would have behaved when you were on your own, then that’s probably the right course of action. The worst that can happen is that you’ll look a little foolish at having overreacted. You might also save someone’s life. 32. What is the author’s purpose of telling about the case of Genovese? A. To show the high frequency of killing.  B. To highlight the indifference of bystanders. This was one more way for her to solve my strange problem—inability (没能力)to read. In the library, I found my way into the “Children’s Room”. I pulled a few books off the shelf and sat down on the floor. The cover of a book caught my eye. It presented a picture of dog. I had recently had a dog, the first and only animal companion I ever had as a child. He was the one I could share secrets with, but later he was given away to someone who had space and money to care for him. I never forgot my dog. On the book’s cover, there was a dog which looked the same as mine. I figured the  picture of the dog on the cover. My eyes ran across the little, Amos, the Dog with a Plan. Without opening the book, I borrowed it from the library for the summer. Under the shade of a bush, I started to read about Amos. I read very, very slowly with difficulty and got the main ides of the story about a dog who, like mine, had been separated from his family and who finally found his way back home. At the end of the story, my mind continued the final scene of reunion. When I finished my reading, a stream of tears ran down my cheeks. It was until then that I realized I had begun to overcome my inability to read. Thus, this was the very first book for me which I had read through and deeply immersed myself in the real scene. My mother’s call brought me back to the real world and I suddenly realized something.__________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Last year, my mother was so proud that her son was awarded a PhD in literature. _______________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________ 高一年级调研考试英语试卷第 一 页 共 10 页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
