For many years, I strongly believed that my suffering was because of my size. I imagined that when the weight disappeared, it would take old wounds, hurts and rejections with it.
Many people with weight problems also mistakenly believe that changing our bodies will fix everything. Perhaps our mistake is believing that being thin equals being loved, being special, and being cared for. We fantasize (幻想) about what it will be like when we reach the longawaited goal. We work very hard to realize this dream. Then, at last, we find ourselves there.
But we often gain back what we have lost. Even so, we continue to believe that next time it will be different. Next time, we will keep it off. Next time, being thin will finally bring us happiness, selfworth, and, of course, love.
It took me a long time to realize that there was something more for me to learn about beauty. Different cultures have different standards (标准) of beauty. In Samoa a woman is not considered attractive unless she weighs more than 200 pounds. More importantly, if it's happiness that we want, why not put our energy there rather than on the size of our body? Why not look inside? Many of us struggle hard to change our body, but in vain. We have to find a way to live comfortably inside our body and make friends with and care for ourselves. When we change our attitudes towards ourselves, the whole world changes.

Experts are warning about the risks of extremely picky (挑剔的) eating after a teenager living on a diet of chips and crisps developed lasting sight loss. Eye doctors in Bristol cared for the 17yearold after his sight had gone to the point of blindness. Tests showed he had serious vitamin deficiency (缺乏). Dr Denize Atan, who treated him at the hospital, said, “His diet was basically a portion of chips from the local fish and chip shop every day. He also used to snack on crisps and sometimes white bread and ham, and not really any fruit and vegetables.”
The teenager saw his doctor at the age of 14 because he had been feeling tired and unwell. At that time he suffered from vitamin B12 deficiency, but he did not stick with the treatment or improve his poor diet. Three years later, he was taken to the Bristol Eye Hospital because of progressive sight loss.
He was not overweight or underweight, but he had lost minerals from his bones, which was really quite shocking for a boy of his age. In terms of his sight loss, he met the standards of being blind. “He had blind spots right in the middle of his sight,” said Dr Denize Atan, “That means he can't drive and would find it really arduous to read, watch TV or recognize faces.”
Dr Denize Atan said that parents should learn about the harm that can be caused by picky eating, and turn to experts for help. For those who are concerned, she advised, “It's best not to be anxious about picky eating, and instead calmly introduce one or two new foods with every meal.” She said multivitamin tablets can supplement (补充) a diet, but cannot take the place of eating healthily. “It's much better to take in vitamins through a varied and balanced diet,” she said, adding that too many certain vitamins, including vitamin A, can be harmful, “so you don't want to overdo it.”

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. The doctors didn't hold too much hope for their recovery. “What both of them need is a miracle,” they said. One man's bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. The companionship grew stronger as time went by.
Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those onehour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. These periods gave him something to hold on to while he went through the pain of treatment.
The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm among flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.
As the man by the window described all this in detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the amazing scenes. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band, he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window described it with vivid words.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;

[精彩范文]
One morning, the nurse found the man by the window lying lifelessly on the bed. He had died peacefully in his sleep. She was sad and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. And the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He supported himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.
The man was greatly surprised at what he saw when he took his first look out of the window. It faced a blank wall. Later the man asked the nurse why his roommate described such wonderful things. The nurse responded that the man was blind and perhaps he described the beautiful scene outside the window just to encourage him. There is great happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.
