Healthy eating doesn’t just mean what you eat, but how you eat. Here is some advice on
healthy eating.
Eat with others. It can help you to see others’healthy eating habits. If you usually eat with
your parents, you will find that the food you eat is more delicious.
Listen to your body. Ask yourself if you are really hungry. Have a glass of water to see if
you are thirsty--sometimes you are just thirsty, and you need no food. Stop eating before you feel
full.
Eat breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Because you don't eat for
the past ten hours, your body needs food to get you going. You will be smarter after eating
breakfast.
Eat healthy snacks like fruits, yogurt ( 酸奶 ) or cheese. We all need snacks
sometimes. In fact, it's a good idea to eat two healthy snacks between your three meals. This
doesn't mean that you can eat a bag of chips instead of a meal.
Don’t eat dinner late. In our busy life, we always put off eating dinner until the last
minute. Try to eat dinner at least 3 hours before you go to bed. This will give your body a time to
digest most of the food before you rest for the next 8-10 hours.
5. How many pieces of advice does the writer gives the readers?
A. 4 B. 5 C. 6 D. 7
6. Which snack is Not mentioned in the passage?
A. Fruits. B. Yogurt. C. Chips. D. Ice cream.
7. Which of the following is right according to the passage?
A. Snacks are bad for our health.
B. We should keep eating until we are full.
C. Dinner is the most important meal of the day.
D. We should have dinner at least 3 hours before going to bed.
8. What does the underlined word“digest”means in Chinese?

Your third year of middle school is probably a hard and busy time. You may have had
trouble in getting enough sleep. we all know that not getting enough sleep is bad for our health.
But it has been found that less sleep could even cause you to have fewer friends, The Guardian
reported.
According to researchers from the university California, people who don’t get enough sleep
can be less willing to socialize(社交) with others. They can be simply too tired to go out.
The researchers did a small study. They tested 18 young people who had just had a good
night’s sleep and then tested them again after a sleepless night. The participants (参与者 )
watched videos of people with neutral (不带感情色彩的 ) expressions walking towards them.
When the persons on the video got too“close”to them, they pushed a button to stop the video,
which recorded how close they allowed the person to get.
The results showed that the participants kept the person at a distance of 60% further back if
they didn’t get enough sleep. They felt that their personal space was being invaded (侵占). But
when the participants got a good night’s sleep, they allowed the person to get much closer to
them.
According to the researcher Matthew Walker, the less sleep you get, the less you may want to
socialize with others. In turn, other people may think you are strange and keep away from you.
This can make you feel lonely and cause you to sleep even less. It becomes a bad cycle.
So if you want to be a more sociable and popular person, sleeping well might help. “one
night of good sleep makes you feel more outgoing and socially confident,”Walker said.
13. Researchers from the university of California believe that less sleep______.
A. makes school life hard and busy B. is good for one’s health
C. makes people less sociable D. keeps people excited
14. The underlined word“ they ” in the third paragraph refers to _______ according to the
passage.
A. the researchers B. the young people
C. the persons in the video D. people with neutral expressions
15. What does paragraph 4 mainly tell us?
A. The proper distance to keep from others is 60cm.
B. People don’t like sharing their personal space.
C. People are more sociable after a good sleep.
D. Don’t get too close to sleepless people.
16. Matthew walker would agree that _______.
A. people who sleepless are strange B. loneliness makes people sleep more
C. popular people always have a poor sleep. D. sleeping well makes people confident

Are you an“I”person or an“E”person? We hear this question a lot these days. In fact,
these are two personality types based on the MBTI test.“I” is shorted for“introverted ”and
“E”is shorted for“extroverted”. 17
18 It’s a personality test that helps us better understand our personality preferences
and tells us how we connect to the world around us. It was developed in the 1940s by katharine
Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers.
When you take the MBTI test, you are given several sets of questions. They cover all aspects
(方面 ) of your behavior, preferences and thought processes. For each question, you need to
choose the answer that best matches your feelings, attitudes and behavior. 19
The MBTI test is popular for many reasons. Let’s take a closer look at just a few. 20
Human personality is very complex (复杂的), and this test provides a simple way for people to
learn about themselves. Next, taking the MBTI test is relaxing and enjoyable, because its
questions are interesting. Then, people try to find connections. The MBTI test offers a way to go
beyond small talk and connect with others on a deeper level. Last but not least, while there are
many kinds of personality tests on the market, the MBTI test is the most widely recognized.
The MBTI test may show something we don’t know about ourselves and can be a fun way to
help us make new friends. But knowing someone’s MBTI results doesn’t mean we really know t
hat person. Nor do the MBTI results define (定义) who we are.
A. First, people want to understand themselves.
B. Then you’ll know what your personality type is.
C. Generally speaking, an“I”person is shy and quiet, while an“E”person is outgoing.
D. It is very popular with young people.
E. So what is the MBTI test?

Have I got many possessions? Yes, I’ve got a lot of things: a big TV, a new computer and a mobile
phone.
No, I’m not expected to do the housework.
We go out for dinner together sometimes, but my dad is often abroad on business, and my mum
works too. We usually just do our own personal things.
No, they don’t usually set rules for me, and since I’m a good daughter, they never punish me.
Well, I like our new flat. It’s much bigger than our last one. But I feel lonely when my parents are

My mum, dad, grandma and my sister. Although it sometimes feels crowded in our little flat, we

young people should learn to look after themselves.
Yes, we like doing things together. We eat meals together every day, and my family always come
to school events.
Yes, I suppose they set some rules for me. For example, if I didn’t finish all my homework, I can’t
watch TV, and I can’t go out with my friends, either.
